Simstoryteller drabbles: Tenderly and Condom

To get myself into working on the next chapter, I decided to do a couple of the weekly drabbles from the list at Sim Storytellers.







Prompts: Tenderly, Condom
Characters: Ophelia Nigmos, Ripp Grunt

Tenderly




As they waited for the cab to arrive, he reached for her hand, and she allowed him to hold it. The oddness hadn't quite worn off yet, and her heart still leapt a little whenever he touched her like that, with obvious tenderness.

She looked over at him, and he turned his head to meet her eyes. He smiled, but neither of them said anything. Words weren’t necessary. She could see that he was happy for her, and happy to be able to stand there, holding her hand.




Ophelia smiled. After several minutes, she spoke.

"That look really suits you."




Condom




Ripp loved compliments.

Sure, most people did, but him especially. It likely stemmed from all those years where he heard Tank getting praised while he was only criticized. He loved to get attention in any form at all, but never more than when it came from Ophelia. He all but lived for her approval.




They were easing into something more than just friends, and those small things were significant. Holding her hands was thrilling enough, for now. The rest could come later.

Still, he kept a condom in his pocket, just in case. You could never be too ready, right?

I GOTTA TELL YOU. As much as I love Johnny, I just lakjdflskjflksdjflskd smush over Ripp and Ophelia. SO MUCH. THEY ARE SO CUTE and I'm SHIPPING THEM COMPLETELY. They aren't together in my own game, but I forsee me changing that in the future *cackles*

And, I noticed that we don't really get a good look at Ripp in these (well... aside from the ass shot, but Ripp ass shots are always a good thing!) so I'm going to guess that someone got himself a new look perhaps? I love the long hair, but he's one of those sims that looks good no matter what!

I see that you've figured out what the real spoiler in this is. I don't think it's surprising at all that they're becoming a little more intimate. That wasn't what I was afraid to give away.

I agree. They're mighty cute as a pair. I find it hard to conceive of a Strangetown where they aren't involved with each other in one way or another.

Being that I love both Ripp and Johnny...Ophelia does look really good with Ripp, but she looks nice with johnny too. My brain is racked. No matter the outcome, the story is going to be good.

Thank you. Drabbles are good for getting the succinct part. I like being forced to cut it down to essentials. I usually pad it out a bit more for the chapter, but the drabbling process is usually very helpful.

Isn't Bluewater Village a nice setting? Maybe it's the switch to a lush vegetation that I'm reacting to, but I love all the little details like the lighthouse too.

While I get the warm fuzzies (is that even a word?) seeing the three of them together, and getting used to the idea of being more than friends, I can't help it but wonder how is the rest of the town take the idea of that kind of relationship. I think the three of them couldn't care less, though.

Yeah, but that was a bit off topic. Yup, I also noticed the "real" spoiler in this drabble. Is there a play coming up in your story? ;)

That's something that will be interesting to think about as this all develops. They're taking things as the come, I think, and it's probably not obvious to anyone besides themselves just yet, but I can see that being something very interesting to examine later on, if things turn out that way.

So cute! And I love that one drabble is more about Ophelia and the other is more about Ripp and they're both still unsure, but getting used to the togetherness. And he loves her so much and she knows and it's all good. Love these guys!

Thanks. I have to temper Ripp's sentimentality with his preoccupation with sex. That line became even more Ripp-like after I went back and elaborated on it:

"Still, he kept a condom in his pocket, just in case, waiting for that moment when he could finally become her lover. You could never be too ready, right? He could, and would, do it anytime, and in any place. She just had to say the word. If she told him she wanted to fuck him right there in the street, in front of Florence Delarosa's flower shop, he'd just smile and start taking off his clothes."

The last part amuses me, because I could so see him doing that, for real. :P

That's nice to hear you say. ^_^ I find it hard to imagine them much differently than that, though I have seen many other interesting and convincing versions of them. It's nice to see what others can bring to the them too (and as long as they're halfways sympathetic to the characters, I can enjoy all sorts of different characterizations). That's what's fun about it.

Yeah, I agree, and it's nice to be able to take them out of that familiar setting, by going to Sims City or Bluewater Village. I could also send them to other neighbourhoods, through the use of clones. I like how that allows us to "connect" the different hoods.

Hmm, I notice you don't show us Mr. Grunt's HEAD. Could there be a makeover hiding there? (Ophelia's words make me think so--that and Ripp wanting to change to make daddy Johnny approve of him and hopefully "allow" him to bone Ophelia).

(sorry, I just grossed myself out with that part in the parenthesis--I still see the mommy Ophelia and daddy Johnny thing with Ripp and "daddy" allowing "son" to bone "mommy" is. . .yeah. . .too freaky even for me)

You never give them a break, do you?

They aren't actually his parents, you know, and it's not a perfectly parental relationship either. And just because someone is nurturing to someone, it doesn't mean they literally relate to them as parents. I don't really see those things as being so either/or, and I think you can see that in a lot of friendships and romantic relationships anyway (like how many wives are a sort of a mother replacement for the guy, on many levels, but they don't really want to actually sleep with their mothers). It doesn't seem so creepy and unnatural to me as you are always making it out to be.

What makes you think he cut it for Johnny, anyway? (Well, if it is cut at all, that is... and I'm not saying it is.)
