We vote.

Okay, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, but I have to delay my installment of The Round Robin Legacy by a day. I really thought I'd have time to get it done, but there were some unforeseen issues and things that required my attention elsewhere (excuses, excuses). So that's that. If tonight was going to be a typical stay-at-home Friday night, it would be posted for sure, but I have to leave shortly for the whole night. I have a documentary film festival to attend (oooh, fancy), and the brains behind it all is a friend of mine, so attendance is not optional (nor would I elect to stay home anyway, since there's not often anything this interesting to do here in town). It will be up sometime tommorrow, I promise.

Now, to wait for my punishment... *submits herself to imminent paddling by [livejournal.com profile] laridian*

Just kidding (but only slightly). She does run a tight ship, and I'm being a very unruly sailor.

I'm really blowing this legacy thing, guys. Like, really, really effin' it all up. Well, for one, I'm still playing, and it's supposed to be done on Friday, but I think I can get it all together by them. It's really near the end. But... well, I'm doing something a little unconventional, and making my own judgement call on how to work it. I think it all still works out fairly by the rules, but I've had a last-minute "oops" and I'm wondering what to do.

This contains some serious SPOILERS for the round robin legacy, but I'd love some advice. )

Writing a chapter for The Round Robin Legacy has been an interesting challenge. I have so much respect for story legacy writers now. It's hard to take all the nonsense that can go on in a sim generation, and the mundane routine of it all, and spin it into a coherent and interesting narrative. I'm curious to hear about the working methods of other legacy writers, since I know a few of you who follow my story write one. Do you impose a story on your sims, and direct them in certain ways? Do you add more story details later, about things that didn't even really happen that way? Or is it all straight delivery of the facts, but through a narrative lens?

Some more thoughts on legacy writing... )

On a completely unrelated note, I had about about six inches of my hair cut off today. I went from long, flowing hair to a short, blunt-cut bob. I look a lot younger. Like I'm fifteen, but in a good way. I really like it.

Did you ever take a sim photo that you just had to share right away? Yeah, me too. You'll see it eventually if you read my chapter of The Round Robin Legacy, but you can take a peek now too, if you like. It's kind of a spoiler, but it's not really a pivotal scene. Well, maybe, but... well, I won't go into details, but I'm on the "nobody cares" team here with Conner.

It's a spoiler, so if you don't want to know, don't look. )

The poll has been closed and Nyssa won by a landslide! Thank you to everyone who voted for her, because I couldn't be happier to have her for my stretch of The Round Robin Legacy. Now, for a little glimpse at her new look...

Lean clean woman lay a kiss on me. My love is strong like a raging sea. You move on up, you move on back. Your laser love is like a heart attack. )

Generation four of The Round Robin Legacy, Our Home Amongst the Stars by [livejournal.com profile] iceraptoress, is up. The heir goes to me this time, so if you really like me *wink, wink* you'll head over there and vote for Nyssa. You're free to vote for anyone you want, of course, but you'll be denying me the experience of playing with a female romance sim, which is my favourite type of sim to play, hands down. I also have a story in mind for her already, so if she doesn't win that goes down the drain. *flails*

She also likes gardening, and has recessive red hair, and I can tell she really, really wants to live in Veronaville. So she doesn't have the alien recessives, but I have a feeling she might not need them to see them in the next generation. *wink, wink, wink*

I'm involved in the Round Robin Legacy, which is the brainchild of [livejournal.com profile] laridian. We're currently on generation 3, and the most recent update, Generation 3: Interview with the Vampire of the Damned, was just recently posted by [livejournal.com profile] music_simbol. Previous posts were by [livejournal.com profile] madame_ugly and [livejournal.com profile] laridian, and are listed on the main page (link above).

There's a heir poll for the next round and it's still open, so feel free to weigh in. As it is with any voting process, it's my job to just bring you to the polls, not to influence your vote. I'll do that next round, when I'm the one who'll be saddled with the heir... then the campaigning will start. *snicker* I'd like to mention that Claudia and Armand have the most alien genetics, though, so choose wisely. (Read: I want those alien genetics.)

All this polling has gotten me into a poll-making mood. I've never made a livejournal poll before, so I've decided to try one.

Time for some reader participation! W00t! )

ETA: I obviously fail at making polls, since you shouldn't be able to pick more than one answer, but oh well... you can pick more than one if you like. The results should still make sense.
