I'm trying to be okay with it, I really am. I am trying. I'm not some bigot who's shut himself off from new experiences. I can adapt.

I say that, but the truth of the matter is that it makes me uncomfortable, plain and simple. It's never going to feel normal to me.

But I'm trying.

If Frances wasn't enough, I now have Beau too. He just showed up one day and started prancing around the place like he owned it. He’s just so… gay.

See, I’m getting better. He is gay. That’s what he is.

So very, very gay.

Thanks. The great thing about drabbles (especially if they don't go over 100 words), is there isn't enough time to go into much detail, so they're can only be these brief snippets of information. It's great for working out little ideas like this.

I could easily expand on this one, and I probably will. It needs images too. It's just crying out for them. I'm thinking of devoting a part of an upcoming chapter to Tank's point of view, so that's probably where it will end up.

Thank you. The drabble really forces you to do that. It's a lot of fun to write them, and I'm getting better at hitting the 100 word mark without too much re-working. You get the feel for the right length after a while.

Poor Tank, lol. It's all right in his face, now. He might have been able to pretend otherwise with just Frances, but now that Beau is there... oooooohhhh... do I detect a bit of foreshadowing? Are Beau and Frances becoming closer? :D

Heheh. It's soooo in his face too. Let's just say that Beau picks up on Tank's uncomfortableness pretty early on, and uses it to amuse himself. ;)

Beau and Frances do start to hang out a lot more, just as Tank said.

The idea of that made me laugh, and I can imagine Beau playing it up for Tank, just to test his limits and see his reactions.

Tank's trying, and that's better than nothing. It's pretty far from his comfort zone.

:) Maybe so, but it's not going to be and easy adaptation. It definitely needs a picture or two. I can just see Beau prancing around and Tank standing in the background looking disgusted. Poor Tank.

Tank does have the ability to change like that, I think. He's not really a bad guy, and he realizes that a lot of his assumptions have gone unquestioned by him, but when he's faced with the real life details, he can't help but begin to see differently. He just usually doesn't put himself into the situation (even mentally) until it hits him in the face. Maybe it's lack of imagination, or just the way he keeps a safe distance from most things. It's just another way he differs from Ripp.

I can imagine a really funny overblown scene with Tank standing dumbstruck in the background. *snicker* I'll have to do that at some point.

Wow, Tank rarely says much. But when he does, it's straight to the point. And Beau, deliberately flaunting it on front of Tank's face isn't going to help matters at all.

The word "prancing" just sums it up, really. :P Beau is gaying up the place, gay-style. I wonder what Frances thinks of the whole thing? (I'm still thinking it through.)
