Challenge 003: Drabble: Pic Prompt

Here's my response to this week's challenge over at simstorytellers. The prompt was an image this week. I found this one a little harder to get into, and I think it was because I didn't get to create the image myself. That's usually such an important part of the thought process. I wonder if anyone else who did this challenge experienced that.

He's talking to me, running his lines, as if I really care. As if I can talk back. Like he cares. He just wants someone to talk at. The boy wouldn't play along, so he got angry, but it really doesn't make any difference. The boy would just do the same thing I'm doing.

At least I get to sit on the counter.

They're all a bunch of bores, caught up in their miserable, failing careers. Each performing for the rest of the family all day long, as if any of them are paying attention.

Actors. Is there anything worse?

Have you played in their house? It's a pain in the butt to get around (with those two fire places in the living room!).

Yeah, I played with them once, and that's what I'm going on. I remembered them being actors. It caught my attention. I may even consider them for some role in my Strangetown story, since it's littered with actors already. They are just another bunch to added to the pile.

I do remember the fireplace, but I didn't run into any trouble with it. I probably just didn't play it long enough.

Actually, I'm pretty sure my cat thinks I'm really cool (she's like my Mom that way). *snicker* She's a bit odd for a cat, though. She's clingy.

In this case, the humans really are actors. That's the Kim family that came with Pets and it's a part of their backstory. But yeah, I'm sure that all people might seem that way to an animal observer. We're just big, weird animals to them.

Heheh. Glad you think so. You know that the cat is only concerned about getting to do what it wants.

My cat is really weird like that. She's not very cat-like, in my opinion. Or maybe it's just that my previous cat was very snobby and easily ticked off (though she was nice to me). I think Suki (my current cat) was raised with dogs, since she really acts like one. She even licks you all over like a dog. We adopted her from an animal shelter, so who knows where she came from. It might be true.

Suki likes to lick my face clean in the morning. I don't need an alarm clock anymore (since she meows a lot too, to wake me up). In fact, since she wakes up at the crack of dawn, she's now an hour ahead of my alarm. *sigh* I knew there was a downfall to the days getting longer...

I've only played with the Kims once, but I have then earmarked for potential use in this story, since they're actors.

I like writing from a cat point of view. I've always had at least one cat in my life, so I think I understand how their minds work... just a little... maybe.
