I've been thinking about the story today. I'm hoping to get Chapter 31 (part 1) up tonight, and this little snippet comes from part 2 of the same chapter. I don't think it will show up in the story from Johnny's point of view, since I've already written it more from Ripp's, so it's a little extra thing.






He stood on the balcony, watching the sun rise, just as he had that morning after his abduction.

It was all coming together. He understood their reasons. They were afraid, and he knew that fear now. It was his fear too.

They were all going to die.

“They” used to be a distant concept, but it wasn’t. It was his heritage, his family. If they weren’t safe, then maybe he wasn’t either.

Was his family safe?

He heard footfalls inside the apartment. They were heavy, and they were racing around, searching for him. They were Ripp’s.

What did Ripp fear?

And in this line, "I was his heritage, his family." shouldn't it be "It was his family"? I think you forgot the T. :D
