This amused me, but also concerned me just a little.

Dear Ripp, seek professional help. *snicker*

Now, I'm pretty sure I should not have the therapist call Ripp, right? But what is the correct answer here? Correct grammar would dictate that I say no, I do not mind, but is that how it works? Game logic makes me think I should say yes if I want them to call, and no if I do not want them to call.

Also, I have tried both in the past, and have never been called up by any of these contacts. Is there a known issue with this feature? Does anyone know anything about this?

Oh, game, please do not be borked. *crosses fingers*

Also, Ripp's not alone.

It has also been suggested that Phi seek therapy. They can go together. How sweet. XD

It's not really a borked sign it's just that the game had to assign that sim a contact to pass along. Unfortunately the untouchables aren't separated the way they should be by the scripting. The scripting wouldn't necessarily have the therapist call (I'm not sure if they could) but it would add the therapist to his contact list and relationships panel. Not necessarily a good thing. If you don't want the contact you should select no.

Okay, so it does use game logic instead of correct phrasing? That's good to know. It's confusing, but good to know.

Yeah, I figured it was a problem with the feature, not the game. Is there a fix for it anywhere, I wonder?

Thanks for your help!

XD!
I don't know anything about this. Nothing weird ever happens in my games.
But if they have much in common, does that mean she could be suggesting that Ripp become a therapist?

Heheh. Yeah, maybe. Did they hear that his advice for Tank was really awesome?

I was thinking more like, "hey, mind if I give the therapist you number? You need it." XD

Yeah, I thought so. But there are so many other characters (like Nervous) who could use therapy more than Ripp.

Maybe if a friend wanted to get his mind off woohoo and onto something else like a family in the future, y'know?

Nervous would be a good candidate, for sure.

Or, you know, maybe that person thought that Ripp needed a little guidance in his current unconventional relationship choices. A little therapy probably wouldn't go astray.

Just surprised, TS2 is the most glitched eccentric video game I've ever played.

LOL, true. :)

rofl!
omg, if sims could be sarcastic, that would be the case, :P You're are nuts Ripp, let me give my therapist number!!

but yeah, I agree with ndainye, I'd say is just the game making a very poor selection, probably that sims doesn't know anyone else?? I dunno, is a very strange choice for the contact, but in a game that sends toddlers to outings, you can expect the unexpected O_0

I've never seen the toddler thing. That must be hilarious. I've probably pee my pants laughing.

Oh, and I just added an update. Someone told Phi she should get in touch with Therapist too. Silly, silly game. It's bad enough that they pick the therapist for that function, but why does it happen so often? :P

Date: 2009-03-01 08:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aledstrange.livejournal.com
yeah, funny, once :/ not so much when its repetitive.
It happens to me all the time, even with babies!! its insane!! I think it has to do with relationship levels, but still it makes no sense.
Wish the game would take 'age' in consideration when planing groups like that. No matter how close you are with your children, you don't take them to an outing at night on downtown. It's so wrong! (with kids you can ask them to leave, but with tods and babies its a problem).

I've never seen this thing with the therapist before, tho, but agree. It shouldn't happen at all, even less that often.

This game is so freaky at times!
Once I have a baby boy who lived with his father, but randomly appeared at his mother's lot. I couldn't get why no matter how much I asked around, until he grew and I noticed he was 'furious' at the mother. You know how furious sims always walk by to kick the trash can and such?? well, it was my only explanation O_0

I don't know why it says "do you mind" instead of "can I" and it bothered me, too, the first time I got one of those. I think we are nitpicky with our grammar ;)

I know. It's infuriating to me, because I know they want me to answer yes for yes and no for no, but that's not the way the question is set up at all. Argh.

Urk. This was discussed on MATY, and I think they decided that EA doesn't understand grammar, so select 'no'.

Heh, poor Ripp. So messed up.

Oh dear. I really hope your game isn't broken.

Everyone in Strangetown needs therapy. Except maybe Lucy. I love Lucy (just reading your latest update and man, she is so HOT. And pretty! I find it uncommon for people to be both, let alone sims.)

Yes, yes, most of them do. Poor things.

Lucy is a foxy lady. No wonder Tank wants to bang her so badly.

I DON'T KNOW, ST. It's our fault for liking such a messy game. xD

No, actually I LOVE the hair. XD It's so subtle and I really do like it. I liked it in theory anyway, but I didn't think I'd go for it in the game, but I think I just might.

My only hesitation is about the eyelashes, which sometimes conflict with other eyelash shapes a little, but it's not really that big of a deal. At least they aren't on the guys.

The lips would take a little adjusting to (I'd like 'em a little darker on S1, but part of that is just being used to it the other way too), but I like how they're still delineated nicely.

I'm super picky. :P

Date: 2009-03-01 07:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com
REALLY? (I'm so shocked, I'm gushing over here.)

You're making me blush with all these compliments.

Really? I mostly use the Maxis eyelashes, so I didn't know it would be a problem. :(

Even if I am biased, I love the lips. I admit they're a bit light, but thanks!

I noticed. :P I'm just glad you tried them out. :)

Yeah, I like it. It's just a little treasure trail, and it's quite sexy. I know opinions tend to be polarized when it comes to body hair, but I can't see anyone finding that hair too repulsive (I shouldn't worry about putting people off with a change, but I do just a little).

The thing about the eyelashes is that there's a little too much eyelash action below the eye for me. If that was different, I wouldn't mind the lashes on top. I try to keep eyelashes subtle, but I do use quite a range of different cc eyelashes/liners.

I can also adjust the lips in some cases, if I feel the need. I have a set of "real lips" that can help me customize. Light lips are better than overly pink lips, anyway, so that's good. Most girls have some form of lipstick anyway (which is why I've never minded the sort of beige coloured lips on the guys - it's butch). I do love the touch of translucency in your lips. It's not overdone. They're not all juicy and crap. Lips can be the worst offenders on cc skin for me (and eyebrows - Oh, the eyebrows! :O)

I'm like Frances, okay? I have lots of opinions and preferences. That's just how it is.

Date: 2009-03-01 08:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] smjoshsims.livejournal.com
Hehe, well, you know my opinion on body hair. It can be overdone, yes, but most of the time it's fine.

It's alright to worry. It seems like I'm always changing my game, so I know it must be jarring, But then again, it's your game, right?

Yeah, that bothered me too. Like you said, it's not THAT much, but it's still enough. Who has that many eyelashes under their eye anyway?

I HATE "juicy" lips. Usually they look horrible, and those CC creators are under the impression that people only play Adult females- who wants a toddler with juicy lips? Or overly done ones? No thanks.

I've never used a skin with eyebrows on it, but I imagine it must suck. O_O

Yes, yes, I noticed. *cough*snob*cough* ;)

I haven't had that kind of offer in my game yet, but I read about it on MATY. I'd choose NO because you are not supposed to have a relationship with the Therapist (just like the social worker and the social bunny).

And it took me a couple minutes to find the grammar mistake in that screenshot :S.

Other than that, I love how the townie could smell Ripp issues a mile away to make him that offer so bluntly ;). That girl has no tact at all!

I got this dialog too, except instead of Therapist it was Santa Claus. Silly game coding. :p I selected "no", too, but on the couple of other occasions that I got this with real sims and clicked "yes", I didn't get any calls either.
