Sims Dream: I finally had one!

Hey, I actually dreamt about sims last night, but it wasn't really a sims dream as much as a sims story update dream. I dreamt I accidentally posted the next part of chapter 27, but without any images. Then, when I tried to quickly remove the post before anyone noticed it, the computer crashed, and by the time I made it back to the post there where a bunch of WTF reactions to the post. Heheh. What a lame dream. The comments to the post were actualy really off-topic and funny, though, so that part was amusing. I think people were talking about babies or something.

Like many dreams, there's some truth in it. I do have the writing for that update almost ready to post, but I have no images taken for it at all. I hope to do some work on that today, but I'm tempted to just read Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and Black Hole by Charles Burns all day instead. My SO and I went to visit a comic/anime fanboy friend of ours last night, and we did our usual trade of reading materials. We left him with some Ivan Brunetti.

Also, we drank one or two beer more than we should have, and wandered home pretty late last night, and what did I do before I went to bed? I downloaded Nathan Peet. Some people would just eat something covered in cheese and go to bed, but not me... I download sims. I'm not sure what I planned to do with him, but I'll figure something out.

I amused myself by reading simsecret too, which I haven't bothered with in a while. The Tank/Frances secret really made me laugh, and the reactions made me smile too. Or should I say Frances/Tank? There was quite a bit of top vs. bottom debating going on. Clearly this is a hot topic for debate. :P

That update could stand without images fairly well anyway, since it's mostly a Nervous Subject diary entry. I just need some images from around the Specter place, which they've been renovating. Also, there's a scene at the end that's a little more involved... but it's short. I should have it all ready pretty soon.

Heheh. Some part of me does want to do that, I agree. ;) But we'll see... I'm going with my gut on that one.

I hope so. He's a pretty smart guy, but he never says anything, so we miss out on most of the details about him and how he thinks/feels about things.

I did promise you that, and I intend to include it in the Frances chapter. He does still have feelings for Tank, and I hope to have him work through some of it with a dream. That will be one of the parts of the next chapter. It will cycle through all the college kids, up to when they graduate.

It's funny how some people have warmed to the idea of Frances/Beau, while there are still some vocal (and secret-making) Frances/Tank supporters. The idea that someone was into it enough to make a secret is really cool. I love the image they chose to use for the secret too.

Yeah, it looks good. Both of those books are ones I've considered picking up myslef at some point, so it's nice to be able to borrow them first and see if I do want to buy them.

Persepolis seems like the type of thing I'd want to own, so I could lend it to other people.

I'm sure I'll get somewhere with it once I start to play around with Nervous a little, and I'll do that today. Sometimes big scenes are intimidating, and a lot of work, so I feel your pain. I hate when I set something up, realize it's not going well, and end up exiting the lot right away. It seems like such a waste of time, but if I'm not into it, it's really not worth bothering with it.

For what it's worth, I'd assume so too. I don't imagine that Frances would always be on the bottom in every situation, but with Tank, he more than likely would be. Stereotypes usually have a grain of truth to them, but you can be surprised sometimes too. I don't think that any pair of people necessarily have to fall into such rigid roles of dominance and submission, but many do, at least part of the time. They could switch it up sometimes too.

...but with Frances, I do think a big part of his Tank fantasy would involve being overcome by him. ;) I think almost anyone's Tank fantasy would be like that, really. He's Tank.

Haha, sounds like a fun dream kind of. Part nightmare maybe? But a silly nightmare, that isn't really THAT awful.

Also, Tank/Frances only if it's sloooow and pays attention to awkward Tank. And also not before Frances gets some happiness with Beau, because he needs that.

Oh and I mentioned that 'who tops' debates are silly! They are! Really! Tank doesn't NEED to top and Frances doesn't NEED to bottom. And if they do enter into a relationship I'm sure that would switch from time to time, even if they do usually does settle into one role.

Yeah, it was a nightmare, but not a very scary one. It's just soemthing stupid I keep expecting myself to do one of these days... editing a future chapter and accidentally posting it before it's ready.

I agree. Even if Tank is actually gay, I can't see him jumping on that bandwagon anytime soon. I think his friendship with Frances is more interesting than any sort of sexual relationship between them anyway. I think they'll become very good friends, and that will mean a lot to them.

I agree. There aren't really any hard and fast *teehee* rules about topping and bottoming, and it really doesn't have to be set in stone. It's funny to see people squabble about it, though. I do tend to mostly agree with them in the case of Tank/Frances, having thought about those characters in a lot of detail. I don't think that Frances would necessarily always be a bottom, but I do think that Tank would probably always be a top... that's if he was ever with a man, and that's a pretty big "if".

In my game Frances is definitely the horniest sim ever. He is the one who almost ALWAYS initiates the moves. He and Guy must woohoo about twice a day- not to mention the constant makeouts they do in front of their children.

I should mention that they only have one bolt for eachother- it doesn't seem to matter though. XD

So yeah, I think that he wouldn't mind taking turns.

But Tank? Definitely a top.

The debate is so silly. Why does it matter so much? It shouldn't if anybody is in a loving relationship.

I can only speak for myself here, but after a while, I imagine that most people will try out almost everything they possibly can. It might not work out, or it might be too silly to go through with, but people get bored of doing the same thing every single time, so they try new things.

All of the in game antics are really helping me write him in IB, that's for sure. I think you'll be very amused with some of the things I've come up with.

He is also always bringing up guys that he thinks are attractive in conversations... Like madame_ugly's Galacticon Farquest. XD

I've been thinking about that ever since the chapter where he made out with Ripp. Sure, it was him that did the first kiss, but Frances was the one who took it to the next level. There is definitely more that we don't know about him.

Drunk downloading is much better than drunk dialing. At least I had the good sense not to post or comment on anything. I laughed when I opened my downloads folder to find Nathan in it this morning, and was like "what did I DO last night?" :P

Yeah, I expect it to be good. The copy I borrowed is The Complete Persepolis. I'm looking forward to reading it.

Unlike with most of the secrets posted over there (because I rarely know what they are talking about), I actually giggled out loud with the Tank/Frances one! Though I'm not exactly a shipper (I've never understood that from all the fandoms I've been involved), I confess I prefer the Beau/Frances pairing (at least because of the contrast between their backgrounds) though I can see why a Tank/Frances pairing could be interesting too!

Hee, the "drunk downloading" mention is pretty funny. I've never been drunk (just silly or "tipsy", I fear hangovers after dealing with my friends'), but I posted a stupid post a few weeks ago while I was on the verge of falling asleep. I actually nodded off for a few minutes right when I was writing it, because I was extremely tired but it was still too early to go to bed (and I don't take naps because then I can't sleep at night) so I had to do something to keep me occupied. I'm still surprised I didn't write anything stupid or embarrassing :P.

The Frances/Tank discussion was hilarious. I know it won't happen, but it's so fun to "ship" them, I just always thought since Tank is well...TANK, Frances would want to be the bottom. (Who wouldn't? :P) It's just too good. I'm all about Frances/Beau, though. They're adorable, but Tank/Frances will always be in my heart.
