For Simgaroop... Helena the cheerleader

I've being meaning to ask you about this for a while, simgaroop. Is Helena a crazy party animal in your game? Is she really excitable? I ask because she never seems to stop cheering in my game. She'll do something and then she'll cheer immediately afterwards. Like, she'll walk up the stairs, stop, and then cheer. She's seriously high on life (and possible some other substances).

I'm becoming a little concerned that she might be a cokehead. Maybe it's just coffee, but she'd have to be drinking a hell of a lot of it for it to have this effect. Or maybe she's just a really extreme gal. This is definitely shaping the way I'll be using her character in the story. Such a big personality needs to be utilized to the fullest.

I've never seen anything like it. It's quite cool. Is this happening because she's max active and playful? Was she like this in your game too?

Oh, and shout out to this awesome AL outfit conversion by javabean_dreams: Landlord Vests for the Un-Landlordy. It's one of my favourite Maxis outfits to date. It's not really Helena's usual sort of thing (it's more of a Frances thing), but I wanted to show it off anyway.

Maybe one of the low class groups in the new social classes that call with AL has started dealing in Sim City. I think Dustin Broke has something to do with this. (Actually... I think Helena knows him... hmmm...)

Ooh, that outfit IS adorable. Thanks for telling us about it. Also, does Helena have a Kitchen and Bath Stuff hair? I really want that SP JUST for the hairstyles! (EAxis should have made a SP for hair. It would have been an awesome idea.)

Well, if you've never seen it... o_O You're sims do all sorts of crazy things I've never seen, so this must be something entirely new.

I LOVE that outfit. It's just so neat and simple and nice. I'm going to use the male version on Frances when he ages up. The hair is from K&B, yes. There's some nice hair on there.

Maybe they still will. They have Mansions and Garden Stuff coming out, so maybe they'll go for one last SP after that. I don't see why they would want to make more money. A hair SP would sell really well.

LOL. An over-cheering sim, I've never had. Most of my sims turn out mean, even if they have like, TEN nice points. I DID have a sim who constantly cheered on her dad while he was playing chess (I almost wrote cheese, ha) and while he played the piano as well, but not as excessively as Helena. I'd hate to be her roommate or anything. XD "I've had a bad day today..." "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT IT'S A GREAT DAY, IT'S SUNNY WOOOOO SUNNY!!!"

Is someone playing an instrument in the house? That could be it.

Mansions and garden stuff seems so...half assed. Like, REALLY? MANSIONS AND GARDENS? How random. The gardens probably won't even be Seasons compatible. XD Sims 2 Hair Stuff would have been so much better!

Nope. Nobody was playing an instrument. :P She cheers at nothing. And when people are visiting they keep making the "you're crazy" gesture. My Helena is nuts.

I like the gardens thing. It's something I've always wanted more of, and they're adding cool lupins and stuff. It's definitely not going to be compatible with Seasons, which is lame. I'd love to see new vegeatble and things to harvest. I saw mushrooms in some of the screenshots, but I'm sure you can't harvest them to eat (or trip out on *looks at Helena*).

I agree. I want another SP with just hair and accessories. They never add more accessories.

She does have an extreme personality. I was thinking it was the 10 points for active and playful that was doing it. The active thing would make sense to me.

Oh my! She really is INSANELY cheerful in your game! :D She never did that in mine, though she was a a bit insane in a different way.

When she was a child, she used to spend hours and hours with the bubble blower (bought because Wanda rolled the want, but she never used it), laughing and "flying" to no end, until I sold the silly thing. She also loved her Daddy's "teleprompter" and spent a long time playing and burping on the mic (along with Timmy, those two are such slobs).

Maybe she's still high from those days!

She was also constantly jumping on puddles (and the bathrooms were a mess) and playing in the bathtub. As a teen, you could always find her doing one of these two things: Being a "pirate" or having sex with a random guy she brought from school. At college she had a LOT of fun with ACR (she was never faithful to Calvin :p).

This is such an odd, yet intriguing combination. Helena is awesome, and I have the perfect place for her in my story. ;)

But yeah, she must have kept with the drug habits of her youth. If you recall my earlier drabble, she might be doing it to cope with the loss of her father. I see her as maybe someone who pushes herself to be happy to avoid being sad.

YES, you told me where you got that outfit. You know I was going to ask. I'm DEFINITELY going to need to take a trip to MTS2 for some shopping (silentsteel just showed off a nightlife converted hair--that weird "asian" one with the funky braid and the little fan tied in it?--looked super cute on toddlers).

Yeah, there are some really nice AL edits and recolours on MTS2, mostly by javabean_dreams. There's also one conversion of an AL dress on GOS that doesn't require AL to use it:

I not completely sold on the mary janes, though (and I liked the necklace). I love shoes like that, but they seem a bit clunky for this dress, in these colours. These recolours work a little better:

Yeah, I love getting some little extra detail for a character that way. Trying to make it work in the story is fun.

I've never had this happen to a sim before and I've had the extreme personalites. Maybe it's a new feature added to AL? That would be cool if it was. Or maybe it's just Helena hitting the bubble too hard and too often. :P

She's a great sim. I'm so glad Simgaroop shared her. I've really enjoyed playing with her, and I'll have even more fun with her in the story.

I'm beginning to think it's just a glitch with the lot, though her guests don't cheer like that. Either way, it's becoming part of her character.
