Strangetown Extras: Ripp's amazing week

I came across this screencap, and thought I'd share it. I was going to save it for an extras post, but I seem to be really bad at getting into those lately. I have tonnes of material, but I can't muster the energy to post it, since trying to be funny is hard. I'll post one eventually, though, I promise. I have stuff that goes WAY back.

For now, here's one that just made me smile.

I'm such a sucker for Ripp and Ophelia together. It's a bit ridiculous really. The way he constantly rolls wants for her doesn't help at all.

That's so weird, I *just* went through your sim story directory and saw the outtakes post and the "coming soon" thing and I got excited.
I always love your outtake posts. :]

Ripp and Ophelia are cute, but I'm so attached to Johnny(I wrote Jimmy as a typo..o.0) and Ophelia. They're so adorable and djhsdhjs. Ripp's adorable puppy dog smiles at Phi make me want them together, though. :x IT'S ALL HIS FAULT.

That IS weird. You're psychic, I guess. I feel bad for some of the hollow promises in that story directory, like the Llama Spit Cove prosperity challenge thing. That hasn't made much progress. One day, though... I'll give it another try.

Yeah, I'm attached to Jimmy too. :P And Jimmy and Ophelia together. I found a screencap of his want to "have very first woohoo with Ophelia', which I thought was super sweet. I had to give him what he wanted, so I locked it.

Haha, did you mean to typo Jimmy on purpose? I agree that they are sweet together, but then Ripp has go and be all adorable and in love with Phi and it makes my decisions on the whole thing torn. :P

Yeah, the prosperity thing takes some time to play out (which is actually great for slow-moving plot farmers like me), but my main problem with getting that started was going too detailed in plot and character. If I have any hope to actually do that one, I need to use a lighter touch. I was going for humour, and I remember getting some decent results with the "Tank" character, aka James Davenport. I just need to complete the writing of the first week for the other characters.

Ripp's alien kids are really great, and super cute (can you guess who the pollinator was?). I really should get back into that hood. Playing old man "Ripp", aka Dick, was way too much fun.

Yeah, I called him Jimmy on purpose. :P Jennys and Jimmys - sounds like De La Soul lyrics.

As for being torn... I'm a little torn myself, but I do have a plan for that part of the story, and as of right now, I don't think it will change, no matter how appealing the alternatives may be.

Yes, Ripp definitely has had a great few days in the story hasn't he? Well, considering the crap that he went through before that, he deserved it.

I love the random popups that come up in FreeTime sometimes. Like, there was this one time in my asylum that one of the members was sleeping in his food, and then all of the sudden it popped up that he gained culinary enthusiasm! :P

Everything goes in waves for Ripp. He has some soaring highs and some crashing lows. So what does it mean if things are really starting to look up? ;)

The pop-ups aren't really random... they happen every week. Maybe even at the exact same time. I think every sim is on a weekly aspiration cycle like that.

Those enthusiasm gains can be hilarious. Sleeping in your food gives you increased culinary enthusiasm? *snicker* Why not, right?

He'll be okay for a while longer, but when things start to fall, some people are going to hit the ground pretty hard. Not just Ripp, but he most likely has some more drama with his name on it.

I never know. You haven't shown any signs of going all Hamlet and killing everyone in the end... but it could happen! And I know someone has to go down, besides Loki. You've dropped enough hints. But I also think you know a lot of enraged fans would storm Canada if certain characters are irreverseably harmed... :D

Ripp looks so happy with Ophelia. I don't think I've seen Johnny look so happy- I hope that's not indicative of something bad... maybe I just haven't been paying attention. Regardless, it's nice to see Ripp look so happy for once. :)

Hmmm, maybe. Ripp is more enthusiastic, for sure, but that might just be the differences in their temperament.

I agree. It's nice to see him really happy, instead of just putting on a front of happiness. Ophelia has that sort of calming, positive effect on him.

Hee! Talk about perfect timing! It looks like a speech balloon, as if Ripp were saying that to Ophelia right then.

I really don't understand what's up with those random popups, though, but they are very amusing! When Chip Broke's parents divorced, a similar popup appeared a few minutes later. I laughed for several minutes after that. I really love this game's randomness.

Those pop-ups relate to the overall average aspiration score for that week. So, despite the divorce, Chip must have had a good week. Pretty silly timing for the pop-up, though. :P I would have died laughing if that happened to me.

I'm waiting for Tank's response to Ripp working at a flower shop, considering he already questions his brother's predilections. That could be funny. I really love how Tank and Ripp seem to see each other at their worst. Buck's a great arbitrator but he usually doesn't come face to face with their transgressions. I do wonder if Buck is as comfortable hanging out with Tank as he is with Ripp - not that Buck's comfortable with everything Ripp does, or says, in his presence. Anyway, I've been missing them and this cute pic has me smiling and anxious for more. :)
