Before I post a WCIF, I thought it would be worth checking in with my trusted friends and readers. I'm trying to locate a very specific pattern on a button-up shirt for Chester Gieke. He's making a brief appearance in my next update, but I want to get him styled a certain way before I show him.

I know, I know... I'm really typecasting him, but the flames will also match his red hair quite nicely. (Also, my apologies to anyone who I am indirectly calling a "gieke" here, but these shirts do have that association, at least where I come from. And there's nothing wrong with being a "gieke", right?)

Thanks in advance for your help.

There's a couple on this page that might work:

http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/clothing/male/adult/everyday/search_Fire/

I'm still looking... and if you don't want to pay for TSR I have a membership paid up. ;)

Wow. Thanks for looking all these up. I always forget to check TSR, since I don't have a membership. The shirt on this page has the right motif, but it's on a sexy tank top, which is not really right for this.

I would REALLY like to see this pattern on the bowling shirt (like the one Ripp wears). It would be a loose, untucked button-down like that. If I can't find it, I might have to make one myself.

That flame tank top looks terrible in-game, too. Trust me :p

That one on the baggy tee and jeans mesh looks like a good option. I'd prefer a button-down, but this one would work too. Unfortunately, it's a paid download. *grumbles*

I love the Calgary Flames Shirt too. Makes me feel right at home.

Which one do you like the best?

Th best one is definitely the one called "Flame Shirt" - it's the 14th one down the page.

Oh, and thank you. *wink*

Take a look here: http://www.esnips.com/web/bcgummy-Sims/

I ended up d/l two shirts; hopefully I didn't get them confused. ;) The one you indicated is "Flame Shirt" and then there is another one too.

Enjoy! :D

Hmmm... that's the right idea, but again, it's too fitted/sexy. That's such a recurring problem with male cc. It's all skin-tight. I don't know a lot of guys that would wear that sort of thing in real life.

Thanks for all your help with this! :)

*snort* That shirt looks like something my dork of a brother in law would wear (he's 16 and a major dork, bless his heart--he even has Bad Teenage Facial Hair!)

Wait, he's more into tigers, but I think he might dig that shirt too.

And between you, me and cindyanne, we have a nice Chester fanclub going on. Chester's Angels!

Oh, definitely. This often goes with bad teenage facial hair. I might have to give Chester that too. There really is a certain type that wears these shirts a lot of the time, and the tiger thing (or giant anime prints) falls into the same category. It's a geekier version of a fun party-animal patterned shirt.

Chester Gieke is the next big thing. We're just trendy. *snicker* Soon, everyone will be playing Chester.

I gave my Chester a business that specializes in gaming, computers, collectible figurines, sci-fi/science stuff (Thanks, FT!) and other geeky items (including collectible swords). It's called Gieking Out, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Those swords are flying off the shelves too, and he's making a lot of money that way.

Sorry to jump in, but I love the name of the business- Gieking Out, LOL. I LOL'ed in RL so hard. That's some seriously awesome naming. :D

Thanks. It amuses me every time I load the lot. I'll just be there giggling to myself. I've always loved that expression - geeking out. A friend of mine also says that about her husband when he's off playing D&D. That's her official title for it.

Am I spelling his name wrong? I can't remember if it's Gieke or Geike. Those i before e things always throw me off.

Date: 2008-06-20 05:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] madame-ugly.livejournal.com
Hmm, now that you mention it I'm not sure. I automatically put e before i but that might not be right. (I should check that before I do the update with him, given my track record of effing up names).

Now I want to make Chester's Angels.

I'm going to double check to be sure too. I have a feeling it's Gieke, but I could be wrong.

You should totally make Chester's Angels. You can have my simself for it if you want. She'd be pumped to do that. And if it's us and Cindy, we'd have a blonde, brunette and a redhead. Almost a full set. How perfect.

I know I packaged her up for music_simbol, so I'll see if that's stuffed away in a folder somewhere (most likely - I am a pack rat, even on my computer), and if not, I'll package her up again, sans cc.

Sweet. I love silly little bonus stuff like this.

That black bowling shirt outfit is what Ripp wears, and it's a little too cool for Chester. If it have shorts with socks and sandals, it would be perfect, but those trendy H&M jeans and the converse don't really work so well. It has to be geekier.

I really love those migamoo outfits, though.

Hmmm. Maybe I should figure out how to alter the alpha to change the pants.

I tried out one of the other outfits that Cindy found, based on the "Nervous Subject" baggy tee and jeans mess, and it looks good. Definitely geeky. I should post some pics. I want to show off my little alien toddler too.

Oh, I thought that shirt looked familiar, but I didn't place it. The long t-shirt looked good to me, though. Some of the other flame stuff isn't so great looking in the screenshots, and that one tight tank... well, I already said.

Let me see what I can whip up.
From: [identity profile] themhooligans.livejournal.com
OK, how about a short-sleeve shirt, knee-length shorts and flip-flops/thongs/Bermudas? (Or whatever they're called where you're from. You know what they are.) Would that work? It also has a watch, bracelet and necklace, but I think I can get rid of a couple of those.
ext_122042: (Default)
From: [identity profile] strange-tomato.livejournal.com
Oh, is that one of those teen style stuff converted meshes? If the necklace is some sort of coral/shell necklace, I'm sure it would be fine. Same with the watches.

I think I have one that's acceptable to use right now, so don't go to any real trouble over it. Thank you for offering. If you do try it out, I would love to see it, and I'm sure I could use it. The flip-flops sound great.

I may give it the old college try. He's a character in my story too - and yes, he's a geek there too, but in college, at ALT. Where I left him, he was getting ready to graduate.

I'd love to see someone makes him not a geek and try to pull it off. He was designed to be a geek, wasn't he?

If you do make something, please let me know. I'd love to see it.

I kinda think he was designed to be a dork. His bio says he knows about the latest video games and the last time a star exploded, but he doesn't know much about real people, and that he'd especially like to know more about the female variety. Har. If that's not a geek I don't know what is.
