I just noticed that my paid account has expired. I had automatic payments set up, but then I renewed my credit card, so the info wasn't up to date and the transaction failed. Now I'm considering whether I really want to renew my paid account status at all. If none of my images have disappeared, I might just stick with the basic account. I guess I'll check it all out later, to be sure. If you notice any missing content anywhere, feel free to give me a heads up, okay? It's kinda sad about my number of userpics, but I guess I'll just have to be selective about them (or maybe make a whole new set, limited as it might be).

Too bad we were too "principled" at simstorytellers (why yes I am making fun of myself) to get our permanent accounts during the whole Sims 3 viral marketing campaign on livejournal. That would have come in handy right about now.

*snerk*

You may not have a paid account but you DO have a warm sense of self righteousness.

I know it keeps *me* warm at night.

(lordy, lord, all that sims3 drama is just so embarrassing now, huh? Crazy how we all get so sucked into silliness with GAMES)

It's hard being so much ~better~ than everyone else, but it's a burden I must shoulder. Who needs free stuff when you can look down on people from the top of Mount Righteousness, right? RIGHT?!

I knew you, of all people, would appreciate that little dig at our drama-mongering. It is rather funny how silly it all seems in retrospect, but where's the fun in it if we don't take our hobby way too seriously every now and then?

Climbing Mt. Righteousness is the only exercise I get.

Every now and then? Slacker. You should be taking your hobby too seriously ALL. THE. TIME.

I know, I know. Clearly, I need to up my game.

This just proves how much ~better~ you are than me, I'm afraid. I mean, you don't even use default replacements. You're like a level 10 vegan, if vegans were sim purists.

Well, now that you mention it, my non-defaultness does give me a slight edge.

But I'm so MODEST I didn't want to rub your nose in it.

(and I think of it more in terms of the "green movement". My not using defaults makes me more green than you, with your disgusting giant carbon footprint!)

I know it won't get you guys free stuff (paid account is overrated anyway. I wish I could get a refund). But for what it's worth, I appreciated that the Simstorytellers comm wasn't spammed with the Sims 3 ads. I think I nearly avoided my friends list for that period. :p

Yeah, I don't think I'll miss the paid account that much, though I do appreciate the use of the eidt button (see what I mean? :P That wasn't planned).

Yeah, I was the same. I actually left a couple of communities for the duration of the ad spamming, but I don't think it was actually as bad as it sounded before the campaign started, and you didn't really have to see the community ads if you viewed it from your friends page anyway. Looking back, I may have overreacted (but I will never admit to it! NEVAR!).

HEHE.

What's the point of having a hobby if you can't get TOO into it?
