I'm not sure how I managed to do this, but Tank's scar is missing. I think it might have been deleted in a custom content purge of some sort. I did delete the entire glasses/accessories folder, due to an issue that I was having (and I just had a lot of useless junk in it), so maybe it was in there. When I opened up Worthington's lot, Tank no longer had the scar, and oddly, he was wearing the General's face paint again. I don't have time to worry about what that behavior might mean (besides the fact that Frances ought to stay away from Tank for today), because I need to find that scar. A search on MTS2 found nothing, and I was sure that was where it came from. Now I'm worried that I found it in some remote corner of the internet and I'll never find it again. If you can tell me where this might have come from, I would greatly appreciate it.

(Oh, and there are some bonus funny pics. Just 'cause.)

Any ideas? I know that I had a matching one that was for the chin too, which is also missing. They're very simple looking, as you can see here.

Ripp: Have you checked the garbage? Sometimes Nervous puts random things in the garbage for no reason. He's pretty fucking weird like that.

Me: No, Ripp, I hadn't thought of that. (I wonder why?) But it seems like you're going to check it out for me...

Me: Did you find anything?

Ripp: Yeah... looks like I found something really good.

Me: Ummm... Did you just EAT something from the garbage, Ripp?

Ripp: What?! Yeah. It was still good! What's wrong with that?!

Me: That's just nasty, Ripp.

See? I need help. These sims are just not helping me.

ETA: It has been located! Thanks [personal profile] ndainye!

Supposedly Mortimer Goth was based on Will Wright and Cassandra Goth by his RL daughter, so odds are good that at the very least they'll have the story continue with how Maxis envision her marriage with Don Lothario did/did not turn out.

Interesting! I really didn't know that. I wonder if any other families have a chance of making it to Sims 3 though.

I'm thinking after the Goths it's an equal tossup between the Newbies/Brokes and the Pleasants. So likely all of Pleasantview. But surely they'll have Strangetown too.. And a dark horse contender might be the Landgraab/Laandgrab family. Maxis has had them mentioned/starring in both SimCity as well as TS1 and at least one of the Sim console games before.

I agree, especially about the Pleasants. Strangetown has a decent chance of carrying over too, since it was also included in some of the console games.

Back to the topic of console games... So recently I was sitting around in my math class extremely bored as always, until we reached the topic of Pascal's Triangle, created by the mathmatician Blaise Pascal. So that got me wondering about the origins of the other Curious brother's names. There's Ervin Laszlo, a scientific philosopher... But when it came to the name Vidcund I was kind of lost. That is, until I found this forum thread in a search via google: http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=38797

In there it got into a discussion about how Strangetown is in the PSP game, which I had no idea how it was like until today. Seem's like the Strangetown there is a very dark place, and I have no doubt that this is the story that they will continue onto the Sims 3. :(

That's interesting about the names. I knew most of the others, but not the scientific origins of the Curious brothers names (though I would have assumed as much).

I doubt that they would continue that story in Sim 3, since as you said, it's very dark, and not at all in the spirit of the core sims games (and I hope that they realize that, and that most fans wouldn't want to see that happen). Those consoles games are more like spinoffs, I think, and that PSP game wasn't so much a simulation as an adventure game, so I think that's where the more extreme and "edgy" storyline comes from. It's interesting, though, and I would like to play it out of curiosity.

Yeah, when I heard about Pascal in Math class, I wasn't at all surprised that that was where the name most likely came from.

Yeah I really hope you're right about that. It does sound interesting though.

I really hope I'm right about that too, but I'd really be surprised if I was wrong. Very few Strangetown fans would enjoy the plot where Vidcund betrays Pascal and turns over his alien child (I can't remember to who - the military?), and Buzz Grunt has Jenny and Johnny Smith held captive in a bunker. Yikes. It's a bit much to be the "official story", if they have any heart. (I laughed at Tank's continued abuse of Ripp into adulthood, though. But c'mon... even I think that they'd grow out of that eventually. *snicker*)

Haha yeah I know! When I heard that I was like "Wow, he is a loser but I don't think he'd be that much of a loser to put up with Tank's shit for that long!" I would have moved out of Strangetown if my brother still kicked my ass. ...That way I would have been able to conquer more ladies in the other towns to explore. (Pleasant twins, here I come! Lol.)

Speaking of Ripp... I'm taking a break from my Prosperity challenge and am going to post something else sim-related that will surely entertain you. ;)

Yeah, really. If Tank was still kicking his ass, he'd buy a bus ticket. I know that there is obviously more than one way he could be interpreted, but I have a hard time translating his 8 nice points into someone who is a willing victim of Tank's abuse (I also find that interpretation of Tank to be pretty asinine, but that's another story). It seems pretty obvious from Ripp's design (long hair, casual clothes, romance aspiration, etc.) that he's intended to be the family rebel, so I'd expect him to just get out of there.

(*snicker* Pleasant times ahead.)

Oooh, if it involves Ripp, I'm there. ;) I'd love to see what you come up with. It's always fun to see what other people do with the Maxis sims.
