I'm not sure how I managed to do this, but Tank's scar is missing. I think it might have been deleted in a custom content purge of some sort. I did delete the entire glasses/accessories folder, due to an issue that I was having (and I just had a lot of useless junk in it), so maybe it was in there. When I opened up Worthington's lot, Tank no longer had the scar, and oddly, he was wearing the General's face paint again. I don't have time to worry about what that behavior might mean (besides the fact that Frances ought to stay away from Tank for today), because I need to find that scar. A search on MTS2 found nothing, and I was sure that was where it came from. Now I'm worried that I found it in some remote corner of the internet and I'll never find it again. If you can tell me where this might have come from, I would greatly appreciate it.
(Oh, and there are some bonus funny pics. Just 'cause.)

Any ideas? I know that I had a matching one that was for the chin too, which is also missing. They're very simple looking, as you can see here.

Ripp: Have you checked the garbage? Sometimes Nervous puts random things in the garbage for no reason. He's pretty fucking weird like that.
Me: No, Ripp, I hadn't thought of that. (I wonder why?) But it seems like you're going to check it out for me...

Me: Did you find anything?
Ripp: Yeah... looks like I found something really good.

Me: Ummm... Did you just EAT something from the garbage, Ripp?
Ripp: What?! Yeah. It was still good! What's wrong with that?!
Me: That's just nasty, Ripp.
See? I need help. These sims are just not helping me.
ETA: It has been located! Thanks
ndainye!

Re: This is completely off topic, but LOOK!
Date: 2008-03-06 12:57 am (UTC)I wonder if they'll put in any of the maxis made characters in TS2 into the game, like they did with the Goth family. It would be interesting to see where their lives ended up after the current game. I didn't like how the Sims 2 was like 25 years in the future though. I didn't mind that the time was in the future, but I think they put it a little too far.
It would be hilarious to see some of the Strangetown characters old and crochity wouldn't it?

Date: 2008-03-08 05:01 pm (UTC)In there it got into a discussion about how Strangetown is in the PSP game, which I had no idea how it was like until today. Seem's like the Strangetown there is a very dark place, and I have no doubt that this is the story that they will continue onto the Sims 3. :(
Re: This is completely off topic, but LOOK!
Date: 2008-03-08 05:26 pm (UTC)I doubt that they would continue that story in Sim 3, since as you said, it's very dark, and not at all in the spirit of the core sims games (and I hope that they realize that, and that most fans wouldn't want to see that happen). Those consoles games are more like spinoffs, I think, and that PSP game wasn't so much a simulation as an adventure game, so I think that's where the more extreme and "edgy" storyline comes from. It's interesting, though, and I would like to play it out of curiosity.

Oooh, if it involves Ripp, I'm there. ;) I'd love to see what you come up with. It's always fun to see what other people do with the Maxis sims.
Re: This is completely off topic, but LOOK!
Date: 2008-03-06 01:02 pm (UTC)If they did include a future Strangetown in Sims 3, I really wonder if they would dare to include things like Nervous Subject and Pascal Curious as a couple, since it seems so implied by the game, and the VAST majority of players seem to pair them off. Do they actually have to balls to include a gay couple that is more than just implied? I wonder about these things...

Date: 2008-03-08 03:04 pm (UTC)And yes, I do spend some time "correcting" these errors when I see them. I probably bug the hell out of people, but sometimes I can't even watch commercials without pointing this stuff out.
For the game, I know that they have to consider points of view that are opposed to the idea of homosexuality, since they want to sell to everyone, but it still seems like a weak excuse to me. Acknowledging the existence of gay sims (and thus simulating life) is different from promoting the lifestyle. I know that some people would argue with that, but do they believe that gay people don't really exist, despite the evidence? (Well, I know that one opposing point of view is that it is entirely a choice, so I guess it comes back to that, as wrong as that assumption may be.)
I think they could do it. They've included other things that are considered offensive to some groups. I know it's a fine line, and I should be happy that they included the ability to do it at all, but there's always that dream...
