The Sims 3 has been delayed until August because I am not even close to being mentally ready for it yet. I'm just that important. *snicker* The ego has landed.

Seriously, though, this wouldn't bother me in the least, and I think they should delay it to fix their countless, countless bugs, if they do exist (and, let's face it, they most likely do). However, I do feel bad for people who were getting really excited about it, and even pre-ordered it. *consoles [livejournal.com profile] cindyanne1* There, there. It will be okay.

I wonder if it's true? Seems likely to me. They delayed Spore for ages, didn't they?

Don't confuse skepticism for bitterness.

What's the saying? Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it? I think that applies in this situation.

Oh, I think I've learned. It's not like I'd ever grab the game and install it right away, throwing caution to the wind. I know better than that. I fully expect there to be problems.

I just like to remain hopeful about these things. I mean, you'd think that THEY would learn from history, wouldn't you? They have to have picked up on some of the concerns of the community (aside from SuckRom - they just don't get it there, and I doubt they will). Right? ... right?!

Maybe I'm just naive.

That's the rub. THEY have learned. Learned that even if they hype something (and don't deliver) people will buy it. And even if those people complain, they'll buy the next ep and the next sp and pay for piece-meal downloads and eagerly wait for the next product in the franchise.

Yeah, optimism is nice but skepticism is much more practical.

It's very true. They know that people will buy it, no matter what. If we never complain about what they're doing, and continue to buy it, why would they change?

(And yeah, people pay for the Sims 2 Store stuff, don't they? That's just... yeah. If I couldn't get it from MATY, I would not have anything to do with that. The prices are just ridiculous.)

I wonder if those SecurRom law suits have had any effect? I haven't heard much about that lately.
