"I'm not fucking doing that. Sorry, Zo, but I'm not into that sort of gayass shit, okay?"

"Oh, come on. It's just like making a wish, or a prayer... if you believe in that crap. Writing it down gives it more weight. Like... it has more power."

"Like the power of The Secret?"

"Yeah, just like that."

"Fuck sakes."

"Humour me, okay. Just play along. I'll throw them away after we're done. I don't usually buy into this sort of thing either, but it couldn't hurt, right?"

"No, I guess not. I'd try anything right about now."

"Good girl. Here's your sheet."

"Thanks."





Nothing for me this year, Santa. I've already got everything I need, and I can take care of myself. As long as I have Zoe, I'll be fine.

Well, you could help me out with that whole serenity, courage, and wisdom thing. Especially the wisdom. I'll be needing that. You know, to know the difference, and all that shit.

It seems like you did miss something. This will also be covered in an upcoming chapter, but Jaxy ended up in the hospital in a short story I did for one of the SST challenges.
