"Oh my GOD, this leaves nothing to the imagination AT ALL!"

"Let me see..."

"No! I don't want you ogling this!"

"Then why'd you pose for it, hot shot?"

"It was a fundraiser! I don't know... I didn't think it would be this revealing."

"Give me that." Ripp snatched the calendar from Johnny's hand. "Oh... oh, my."

"Shut up."

"Johnny, this is fucking awesome! You're going to have people lining up to get a piece when they see this."

"Oh, come on..."

"No, really... I'm getting a hard-on just looking at it."

"You're an idiot and I hate you."

"I'm serious! It's hot." Johnny glared at him. "Oh, come on, now... aren't you jocks all gay for each other anyway? Gettin' all naked in the locker room and stuff?"

"You're an idiot."

"Hey, what's going on?" Ophelia asked, as she entered the room.

"John posed nude for a calendar fundraiser."

"Oh, really... Let me see that."

Johnny shuffled around awkwardly while Ophelia examined it.

"Nice. Real nice."

"Thanks, Phi."

"What is it with you Smiths and taking your clothes off, anyway?" she asked.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"Oh... well, don't go to see the first year art show."

"WHY NOT?"

"Jill's naked and all over the paintings there," Ripp said, "It's pretty awesome."

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah, she didn't mention it?" Ophelia asked.

"Why would she?" Ripp laughed. "Johnny'd just go off the head." He smiled and looked over to where Johnny was fuming, and, in a moment of realization, he turned and grabbed Ripp by the shirt collar.

"Your BROTHER!"

You know, he'd probably calm down once he sees them. Life modeling poses aren't sexy (at least the challenging, enjoyable to draw ones aren't. But maybe the context of drawing nudes is so far removed from sex and so snuggly ensconced in "work".)

Yeah, it depends on the pose, doesn't it? Most are pretty classy and focused on the overall form and curves, not the naughty bits. ;)

I don't usually even draw the "crotchal region," but I do draw the breasts. That's the best part. Women are way more interesting to draw than men.

I agree with that last comment. I LOVE drawing girls. Boys are just... boring. Girls get fun curves.

Women are easier to draw, I think, and more fun. There's more going on in the little intricate folds. That applies to both realistic figure drawing and cartoons for me.

Yeah, I'm all about the girls.

Oh are you now? Wonder what your SO would say about that. :P

For drawing, for drawing... :P

In all honesty, he's not really bothered. I'm all his now, with the ring and all, so what does it matter who I'm attracted to? And, well... he's not really bothered by my attraction to girls. Being a dude, he quite likes it, in fact. (This amuses me, because girls are the same way, if only on the internet. :P)

Well I didn't say he would be bothered by it now did I? ;)

Well, boy bits confound me, so I always draw them. Besides, it's still part of the body! (And lets face it, boys can be sexy, but boy bits are not.) Women are generally more interesting but most of the OMG WOW models I have access to are guys (it's a close race, though).

I tend to go nuts on legs.

I did slip up a little Tuesday; I had to leave class for an hour to meet with my advisor, and when I came back with had a larger model. I LOVE larger models. I love the sweeping curves, the challenge, and I think it's a little easier for me to see the rhythm with more substance to work with. But I was so happy when I saw her I let a "beautiful!" slip out (she *was* gorgeous, but it was more of a "yay! big model!" reaction). (You know, I haven't had a large man yet... which sucks but I suspect won't be as enjoyable.)

Really? You draw in the cock and balls? (Pardon my french.) For a full-body figure, I find them to be an distracting accessory, in the same way detailed vaginas would be, but maybe a still life sort of thing would be cool. Louise Bourgeois certainly did some interesting stuff with them.

I had a curvy male model once and it was VERY challenging. He wasn't big, he just had womanly hips. It sort of enraged me, because I couldn't get it to look right.

We get crazy shit for *not* drawing them. We don't have to be extra fancy, but we're not allowed to ignore body parts.
