Prompt: Why Frances doesn't like pirates, ninjas, and vampires
Characters: Beau Broke and Frances J. Worthington III
Wordcount: 100
Warnings: none

Beau had rambled on about the movie for what seemed like an hour. He had recapped the scenes, and even quoted the quotes.

It was just so... common. It was an amusement of the drooling, sweating, uncultured masses.

Frances was better than that.

“So, yeah… how about you? What did you think of it?”

“It was… interesting.”

Beau laughed. “You hated it, didn’t you?”

“Yes.”

“But it had pirates. Everyone loves pirates.”

Frances lifted his brows. “Well, maybe that’s the problem.”

Beau leaned back, carelessly crossing his arms. “Don’t take this the wrong way, Frances… but you’re such a snob.”

I just love it when people say 'Don't take it the wrong way' because the person is almost certain to take it the wrong way! Atleast in the cases I've seen.

I couldn't agree more. You're almost guaranteed to be offended by what they say after that set-up, yet people still use it, thinking it somehow softens the blow.

I tend to just say what I want to say and then say 'Not that I don't like you, you just can be really really annoying,' or something to that affect. xD Usually I only have to say stuff like that to my best friend, and she's put up with me for years and knows how to deal with it.

It's still hard to take, but in some ways it's nicer to say it upfront than just go on thinking it (or worse, saying it) behind the the person's back.

Beau is not the type of person to do that. He's more of a "call you out on your shit" kind of guy, once he gets to know you, which is probably a little jarring to Frances at first.
