Sims 3 Generations

I just watched the Sims 3 Generations Producers Walkthrough on YouTube and I really liked what I heard there. For one, they said they really listened to what the players have been saying they want, and that they want more opportunities for storytelling in the life of their sims.
++!
It looks like a nice EP. At lot of the more recent expansions have been appealing to me more and more. If my computer could handle it, I think I'd probably pick a couple of them up. I really hope they continue in the direction they seem to be going in. Could it be a return to form for the series?

Date: 2011-05-23 02:12 pm (UTC)I keep thinking that when I eventually grow tired of TS2, I'll be probably getting myself a new computer by then anyway, and I'll just get and install all TS3 EPs, Awesomemod, and give it a go again.

Date: 2011-05-23 02:46 pm (UTC)Also CC is a lot farther, if you're Maxis-y, the store content from Maty is a help, and it's pretty high quality. It's also easier to fix the game when you run into issues.
A good computer also helps, ngl. My old computer had issues running it. If there's one thing that needs upgrading, it can be a massive help in the end.

Date: 2011-05-26 10:15 am (UTC)I have been dabbling in a little CC from the store and some conversions (mostly MtF) that I've found on MTS2. I'm actually enjoying the fact that my game currently doesn't have much cc, and I'll probably keep it that way anyway. With the recolour/pattern options and the ability to change shoes and such, there's less need for cc.
I know I'll need an upgrade to even look at EPs, which helps me to be patient and wait them out. Right now, I can run the basegame, but I have to have all the graphics set to low to get things to operate at a reasonable speed. Otherwise, it lags like crazy.

Date: 2011-05-26 10:21 am (UTC)I like the idea of naughty teenage antics, too. It'll be fun for storytelling, and just fun to play in general.
Riding around on horses will be a lot of fun! I'm already a big fan of the bicycles, so I'm all for these new options for travelling around, like the baby strollers. I'd lot to see more gardening and farming options, but maybe that will come in a Seasons-type EP. And llamas! I want to farm llamas. Make it happen, EA! XD

Date: 2011-05-23 05:23 pm (UTC)I'm excited about the intent behind the EP. I've often felt inclined to rush through childhood and even the teenage years. I'm secretly most interested in what they might have in store for elders. Elders need more love.
P.S. Did I see shower woohoo in that walkthrough?? XD

Date: 2011-05-23 06:19 pm (UTC)But yes I agree with you and actually playing TS3 again cemented for me more that it is a better game. It is sad leaving some things behind (like a lot of the premades, and the TS2 characters we know and love are just non-existent or completely different). Actually, I bet a lot of the Strangetown characters will be back in a later EP along with aliens. We have to have aliens, EA, COME ON!
Ahem, tangent. >_>
Anyway, yes it took a few more EPs but I think TS3 is going in the right direction.

Date: 2011-05-24 01:22 am (UTC)The EP does look really good. I am raging against the imaginary friend strutting even before the release of the EP (HATE HATE HATE the post public woohoo strut from LN) but apart from that minor personal niggle it looks like it's going to be a pretty solid EP.
I have to agree with

Date: 2011-05-30 09:01 pm (UTC)Generations looks like it's going to be a really solid expansion - and seriously! All the age-appropriate gestures? SQUEEEE! I want to have my bad boy rise in the ranks of evil from his very toddler days, from impish gnat to dastardly supervillain! Or bad girl, for that matter. I wonder if its possible to seduce one of the strippers at your bachelor/ette party.
