Four of these things belong together. Four of these things are kind of the same. Can you guess which one of these doesn't belong here? Now it's time to play our game. It's time to play our game!

This is the same sim at different ages. Can you spot the inconsistency?

Also, can anyone explain this? Is it a flaw in the template design? That's what I'm guessing.

Bonus question: Which premade sims are the parents?

Do you think it's possible to use this process to correct it?

Wow, I didn't know about that! I thought Sim Surgery was the only way to make facial changes genetic (and that requires making a clone sim, which kinda sucks and is why I never tried it). Yeah, this sounds like it would work, it's definitely worth a try! In fact, I think I'll test it out myself, and if it works I might make an uberhood version with at least some sims fixed. The problem would be getting the faces of the modified premades right when doing the surgery (Jessica Picaso, the Ruben brothers and, to a lesser extent, Hal Capp), since you'd have to click on the base template (with Argon's fixes in) to set the faces correctly for all ages, and then proceed to modify them back to the way they were. For sims who just use the straight template it's straight forward, though.

Thanks for the link!

Someone ought to make a list of broken pre-mades, especially playables but maybe also townies... Maybe I'll give it a shot. I'd say to put it on a Wiki, but the Sims wiki with all the character info on it has so many, many, many mistakes that if I started to edit it, I'd have a full-time job trying to correct it all. :P

I used that process to set Jasmine Rai's genetics to match her face (which I assume was altered in-game using the plastic surgery tool). When she's extracted she has a different nose.

I'm not sure I follow you completely, but it sounds like you'd have to edit their faces for each age group? That'd be complicated. I'm willing to help out as much as I can. Just let me know if there's anything I can do. I have a decent eye for shaping features in BodyShop, if we'd need to work on them individually.

If you're going to test this, you should post about it so I can see what you've discovered! I'm really interested. ^_^

I think you should start editing the wiki! *pats on back* You obviously know a lot about the memories and such, having edited them.

The one thing that gets me about the wiki is their profile of Glabe Curious. They make it sound like fact, when it's really not clear that she was Glarn's wife (that I know of, anyway). What other things have you noticed?

I didn't know Jasmine Rai had wonky genetics, thanks for the info. I do know Gilbert Jacquet and his mother both have completely (and, in my opinion, more interesting) genetics than what's displayed, which is just straight face templates.

Each life stage doesn't have to be edited, but the face has to be recontrusted completely from scratch, using the fixed base templates (21/25). I'm not really much good at face-editing, probably because I never do it. :P I would love some help on that. I just need to figure out the best way to go about making the changes... I always prefer being able to do things outside of the game (read: SimPE) so I can keep the templates themselves as untouched as possible, but that seems like it's not doable in this case.

I'll definitely keep you and everyone else posted, though. :)

Hah, I wonder if I'd step on anyone's toes if I did? It's just all the little technical details that are off, and the various "theories" about things that are just made up... You know, when people just... saw random things in their own game when they played that sim, or made up some story around them, and then add it to the Wiki as if it were fact? I don't want fanfiction in my Wiki entries, dammit, I just want the facts (and the plausible theories).

And you're right, there's nothing that clearly says that Glabe was Glarn's wife, and the wiki article shouldn't present it as such. It does seem the most likely theory to me, though, and I added some stuff about it in the memories in my clean Strangetown, but that's just personal flavour - I did that in a few places (such as the Tricous' memories), 'cause well, I was mainly making everything to my own liking. :P

...reconstructed. I don't know what a reconstrusted is.

Oh, well that's not quite so difficult, then (a relative statement, if there ever was one). At least only one face has to be rebuilt from scratch.

Yeah, I'm just looking for the facts in the wiki, too. I also dislike the way they mix all the different versions together, including the consoles, when it doesn't make one coherent whole no matter how creative you get. The wiki should be organized by game version, if you ask me.

Most likely theory? Most likely theory?! *takes a deep breath* I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. :P Nothing I see in the story pics gives me that impression. But that takes me back to my point: it's unexplained, so there needn't be any definite statements made about it on the wiki.

So those memories are included in the Megahood? I'll have to keep that in mind so I don't check them and take them as fact. XD (I have my own half-baked theories on the Tricous, too. More like full-baked, even. Over-baked?) What other changes did you make to memories and how did you even know they were incorrect? Why even bother changing them? I'm mostly curious because I really don't give much thought to them in my game, aside from doing some backstory digging.

Yeah, true. Doing all the ages and getting them all to be consistent would be awful. :)

I dislike mixing in the different games in the Wiki, too. I think the worst of this is the Landgraab family tree. Guys, it's not the same sims. Let it go.

Haha, what's your theory, again? I know some people believe she might be Glarn's sister, but she's not in the family tree, so that's why I thought ex-wife seemed more likely, given that she has the same last name and she appears to possibly have slept in the same bed as him in the first story pic (I disregard the fact that he's still pregnant in that shot - probably a quirk of an early game version). The memories are only Lola and Chloe remembering them breaking up, so you can just delete those.

I just wanted to give the Tricous SOME memories, because they only had some very crappy ones of each other dying, if I recall correctly. The story roughly goes that the dude (romance sim) who's married to the blonde sister cheats on her with Rainelle Whatever, and then she catches them and kills them both, then the whole family and herself. Makes a good ghost story. The lot is probably built on top of an old indian burial ground, too.

I didn't really add too much of my own stuff, in case I made it sound like I just made up a whole lot of shit and stuck it in there. :P It's mostly just very small things here and there, and mostly in sims that have little or no memory from before, like the college sims - now they remember growing up from child, for example, and a couple of them have a 'grew up badly' in there.

What I MOSTLY did is fixing a lot of things that were wrong, and by that I mean... the order of the memories, for example. Have you looked at the memories of anyone in Veronaville? Important things are missing, and what's there is all screwed up. Cordelia is somehow the youngest sister, according to Consort's memories, even though she's clearly the oldest (the heiress) and has the oldest children. Antonio doesn't remember woohooing his wife, even though he's got two kids with her. The Montys seem very confused about exactly how many children and grandchildren they have, and when they had them. And so on. And examples from other 'hoods: Brandi remembering Skip dying before Beau was born, which is impossible, unless she's got some sort of sperm-retaining special abilities. Promotions being linked to the sim instead of the correct career. Dina kissing Michael Bachelor while still a teen. Missing events, like sims not ever making out with their spouses ever, or remembering their first woohoo. There's like a billion things and I can't remember half of it.

I fixed it because I just wanted everything to be right, it wouldn't feel "clean" to me otherwise. I tried to make them as close as possible to what actual gameplay would give you.

I've given the broked face issue some thought, and I think I may have an idea of how to change them without invading the game directly... But I'll have to test it first. I'll probably play around with that tomorrow (bedtime for me now). If it does work I'm definitely going to take you up on your offer to help remaking the faces. :)

Invading the 'hood template through the game I mean. I'm tired. :P
