Strangetown extras: Transitions

Since I know that I could use a good laugh right now, I thought I would share these funny transition photos with you. Sure, I could save them for outtakes, and avoid breaking up chapter twenty two, but you know what? I'm going to do it anyway. Why not?
One day, I will transition into an outfit that is so cool that it will hurt your eyes...
Let's make a contest out of it, shall we?

Round One
Verdict: Not too bad. I would award Ophelia the prize for the best outfit, since it seems character appropriate as well as tasteful. Sorry Ripp. That's a great blazer (and you really do clean up well), but you blew it on the "staying in character" part of this challenge. Johnny gets bonus points for awesomeness and matching (I think that's a two-piece outfit, right?), but again... try to stick to character, J (or is that in character? I'm not entirely convinced that he wouldn't wear that). And Jayne, as much as I don't buy into things like "blue and green should never be seen", I have to tell you that those two colours do not go together AT ALL. And the turquoise track pants with heels have yet to convince me of their right to exist.

Round Two
Verdict: *snort* At least Johnny can take Cruella De Vil, aka Jayne, to the gala in fine style. (Jayne also got new hair for this shoot, thanks to the return of an annoying hair mesh issue, which required me to delete my hair download folder again.) Ophelia gets some credit for choosing a dress, which I can definitely see her wearing, but the pink seems a bit too girly (don't go crazy, Phi). Ripp somehow managed to win this round, since he seemed to pull that look off pretty well, even though he is not actually an intrepid explorer who owns his own small plane.

Round Three
Verdict: Put on some clothes! (Love the expressions in this pic. *snort*)

That's better (though I did enjoy the leopard print shorts, Ripp).
Verdict: Wait, this really isn't better. I appreciate that Ophelia is not afraid to make a bold colour statement, and there's nothing exactly wrong with her outfit, but there's nothing really right about it either. It's kinda bland. Kinda soccer mom. Johnny is just all over the map with these transitions! But he isn't convincing me with this attempt to look badass. Sure, Johnny, sure. And Ripp seems half right - the top half. But cargo pants in military green? I don't think so. So, the winner is... nobody.
Well, my mood has improved considerably. *snicker* This makes me look forward to the day that they actually do transition to adult. So many bad outfits to pick from... it's like Russian roulette for clothing.
Hmmm, I wonder why I was age transitioning them with InSIM? Only time will tell... *wink*
The next part of chapter twenty two should arrive sometime this week, but I'm feeling extremely unmotivated right now, so we'll see how it goes. Part of the reason is that it is now three parts instead of two, and the rest of the reason boils down to the fact that it's February, which is never my best month.

Date: 2008-02-20 02:48 am (UTC)I love that priss dress. Sarah Love is all about that look. Yeah, the ankle bows are pretty sweet too.
Do sims transition into custom clothes? Mine never have.
If you get "untuckable" pants and a tucked in shirt, you will see their ass hanging out, which would be so awesome.

Date: 2008-02-20 09:51 pm (UTC)If someone transitioned into Santa, it would just HAVE to become part of the story. No question.
I don't have that hack installed, but maybe I should... (now I'm thinking of how funny and awkward it would be if Ophelia transitioned into the maid uniform in front of Ripp. *snort* Temptation, much?)

Date: 2008-02-20 10:44 pm (UTC)I had no idea you could set custom clothes and eyes like that. I wouldn't mind adding more of Lyran's eyes to the genetic mix for townies, for some variety. I've never used the Wardrobe Wrangler. What else does it do?

Date: 2008-02-22 08:02 pm (UTC)Ophelia rocks the maid outfit, too. Especially if she's wearing the Lyran skin with the nipples *cough*
These gave me a smile. Especially the Cruella fur coat (I should get that stuff pack!) and Ripp's H&M blazer. That is SO not him. :D
