I played Sims 3 again for a while this evening and by the end of it was feeling a little, well, sad. Isn't that an odd reaction? I have such a soft heart (or maybe it's just PMS). There are a lot of opinions floating around in my head, and maybe I will post an actual review of the game at some point (I typed up a little first impression already). For now, I'll just say this:

Playing Sims 3 makes me miss Sims 2.

With that in mind, I'm firing up the old game to work on some images for the next update or two. (I do wish Sims 2 could load as quickly as Sims 3 - the speed of the new game makes me realize how bogged down with EP/SPs and cc my game really is.) I'm also thinking of doing an outtakes post, but the sheer amount of images involved keeps me from just doing it. I'm also not feeling very funny at all right now (see above: PMS). Maybe later. For now, I will show you a couple of things I've created for the upcoming chapters. There's one sim and one neighbourhood edit/decoration.

First, the sim. I won't say much about who she is or where she will turn up in the story, but don't you love mismatched eyes? I love these Matched Mismatched Eyes by HystericalParoxysm, because they actually use the textures from your defaults set. This lady actually has custom eyes (the left), and the mismatched eye shows the normal default (replacement) brown. The fake eye is like a contact, and found under either accessories or full-face makeup. I haven't checked to see if it moves yet, but even as a "glass eye" it'll be pretty cool.

I'm also quite fond of how monochromatic she is.

Next, my very successful venture into neighbourhood terrain editing. Note the masterfully submerged spacecraft. I mean, it's not really much, but it's pretty cool, right?

But what happened here?

*cues mysterious music*

Tune in next time for more details...

I think one of the eyes is actually slightly bigger. It's definitely the mismatched eye add-on that's doing it, not your eyes.

The aliens are everywhere now. Haven't you heard? ;)

Not just harder, but different. It's a little more like a linear adventure game now. It can be fun, but also... somewhat lacking.

Oh, alright then. I was worried.

Apparently. :P

I agree. Did you hear that HP is working on default skins that respond to sliders? I'm excited, these hideous skins have got to go.
