I was playing around with the OFB side of the game today, setting up Beau's dreamcatcher stall in Bluewater Village (I used the new Surfside Walk lot by devagirl2 at MTS2 as a starting point - his shop's on the far left). I love playing businesses, and it's also a blast to see playable characters acting on their own while playing a community lot. I love seeing what they buy, and how they interact with each other.

One thing I learned today: Helena is a home wrecker. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that she's one hell of a romance sim, since I saw that in [livejournal.com profile] simgaroop 's game, but I didn't expect her to be quite this successful. She's something else.

We open on Helena, who's being showered with the affections of Mr. Ramirez. There's one major problem with this, of course.

See it? Right there in the bottom-right of the image? Yeah, it's the wedding ring. Helena is a home wrecker.

In her defense, she's not the one making the moves here.

Or here.

Also, check out Beau back there ~dazzling~ Tank into buying his overpriced dreamcatchers. Yeah, they're set at "ridiculously expensive," and he dazzles his customers into buying them.

It works like a charm.

*ahem* Nothing to see here. Just ignore the adultery, and move right along.

Note to self: Put the stunt double Lyla back in the sim bin to avoid future incest.

Yikes.

Helena continues to attract masculine attention, much to her delight and aspiration gain.

Oh, good. Another married man. Wait... no. What is wrong with these men?! Helena is just impossible to resist!

Frances seems a little concerned and disturbed back there. Poor Frances.

Lest you think she's being completely passive, here she is dishing it out too.

She's unstoppable. She has them lined up, waiting!

Yet another one makes a move! At least Cyd is single.

They make some plans for later that week.

Mr. Tinker would be married man no. 3, but so far he's just admiring her. At least someone has an ounce of willpower.

Checo compliments her on her good reputation. *snicker* Well, I agree she must have a reputation, but whether it's good would have to depend on the point of view there, Mr. Ramirez. Your wife may disagree.

Bella: Catch ya later, Beau! *finger guns*

Yes, it's a bad sign when even Bella doesn't distract the men away from Helena. What does she do to them?! o_O

Mrs. Kim shows up, and I was a little nervous there'd be a fight, but Robert decides to focus his attention on his wife. If you ask me, he's overdoing it just a little.

The Kims were also having a grand ol' time putting soap in the fountain, much to Franny's dismay.

Frances: *is perturbed*

I know, Frances, I know. I'll send the terrible people away. *pets*

Life is so unfair.

*delurk!*
I've only played OFB much once, when I first got it. It was a community lot business, so no one ever aged. And then all my (teenaged) employees ran off to college. D:

Is that Cyd? Did you change his outfit? I thought he had a blue sweater. Hm.

I really like your stories. *blushes* Can't wait for more!

Yeah, I use the energizer a lot to keep them on the community lot, so there's no aging. I plan to get the business to a self-sustaining level and hire a manager, so Beau can work from home.

That's Cyd's work outfit. I think he's in the business or criminal career track, but I can't recall which one.

Thanks. :) I'm sort of procrastinating on the latest chapter, but I hope to get it up before the end of next week.

I used the Sim Modder (via boolprop) for that and a few other things. I also had a manager, but mostly I just got bored of the whole business schtick. It sounds really fun right now, though.

In one of my nhoods Marylena Hamilton came home in a police outfit and has been going around with it for ages. Along with a bad hairdo and makeup from a gone-wrong makeover. XD You really couldn't take a police officer like that very seriously!

I haven't played Cyd much, actually, or any of the other Maxis Sims, but I was kind of planning on starting a story with HP's Uber-Megahood, and he would be in that.

I procrastinate, too ... I really should be doing my homework right now.

LOL, Helena! She sure is a menace in your game! She was insane back when she was at La Fiesta Tech, but she never made a move with married men! Creepy goth downtownies, older men (Ripp) and pseudo-cousins (Calvin) were just what she wanted. She also had a weakness for Cyd :P.

Since she settled down with Calvin and Ripp, though, she's been quite faithful to them. Maybe those two keep her so... busy, there's no need for her to look for fun somewhere else! (oh, and the eight billion children she had with Ripp are also a distraction).

Last pictures of Frances by the fountain are priceless! Poor guy, he looks so upset because those mean guys were littering his boyfriend's business!

I gotta admit that a Nightmare catcher business is quite original. Beau must be an insanely good salesman if he even convinced Tank to get one :).

You get so much funny stuff happening in your game! I can't wait til my new computer (parts) get here so I can build it and start playing on a more powerful machine that can run the game with more than one sim on a lot. Darn UPS and their no-work weekends...

And Frances makes the BEST perturbed faces

I don't know if I love more your stories or your outtakes/extras. I'm pretty new to lj, sims stories and legacies, so probably my opinion isn't that much professional, but I NEED to say your stuff is great!
Kudos to Simsecret which made me aware of the existence of you, simplicist, dothesmustle and many others.
I passed my last weeks at work (*cough*) reading all the stories, laughing and being touched, often at the same time. Now I'm fired waiting for more more more!

They ignored Bella?!? Wow that's just something else. Next thing you know there'll be statues of her & a town called Helena Valley.... wait..... O.o
I'm never going to look at that place the same way again. Especially if I find a shop there that sells dreamcatchers XD

Checo's a slimeball anyway, so I would say that any homewrecking there is on his account rather than Helena's. ;)
