Finally! I can have a purple school bus in my game, just like the one I went to school on when I was a kid. It's about friggin' time.
The same creator also made a pizza default replacement (!!!!). How do people even conceive of such awesomely random cc?
P.S. Hands up if you've ever missed the school bus. I still have bad dreams where I'm trying to get ready in time, but everything I touch turns to fail. Clothing? Falling apart or dirty (or missing altogether). Finding a way out of the house? Impossible. Random people who approach you to distract you? Many. Tests you didn't study for? All of them. Man, I hate those dreams.

Date: 2009-01-23 03:25 am (UTC)I actually love the idea of random bus colors. TS2 is a bit of an out there game at times, so why not have a pink or purple bus. :)

Date: 2009-01-22 10:48 pm (UTC)For context, I lived in one of a series of rural coastal communities along a single road, and mine was the second last stop, so the backtrack wasn't THAT far, but it was still nice of him.

Date: 2009-01-22 10:49 pm (UTC)I walked to elementary school, and took MASS TRANSIT to get to Middle and High School. I never went on a school bus. :(

Date: 2009-01-22 10:53 pm (UTC)My SO was the same way. He went to three different schools (which is just AMAZING to my hick town All Grade school experience), and all of them were within walking distance to his house.

Date: 2009-01-22 11:09 pm (UTC)*cackling* I have missing the bus dreams all the damn time. And, if I manage to make it to the bus I'm always barefoot. Come to think of it, I have recurring dreams a lot. One involves a really bizarre mall, people I went to school with, and a rather evil pet shop.

Date: 2009-01-22 11:15 pm (UTC)Yeah, all my dreams take place in this bizarro version of my home, with insane cliffs (the roads are really winding), and the morning routine for school takes HOURS, but somehow I eventually get to school to take that test I didn't study for. (in the Uni verison it's a whole course I didn't know I was registered for, and the final is tomorrow. It's extremely upsetting.)

Date: 2009-01-22 11:28 pm (UTC)You know I'm too big a wussy to do a default replacement. Pussy is me.

Date: 2009-01-22 11:34 pm (UTC)Really? Are you afraid of default replacements? I'm fearless about them, because they're so easy to remove. You should try them. *holds up a toke of default* Just DO it, Madame.

Date: 2009-01-23 12:38 pm (UTC)The humor of you offering a virtual "toke" while we're discussing The Who and Magic Bus is not lost on me.
I've thought about getting some default replacements but then forgot to get them (they were some of those clothing ones, in particular the ones that make the female t-shirts not all navel revealing).

Date: 2009-01-22 11:50 pm (UTC)Sweet! There's an orange school bus too! That's the one I went to school on back on elementary school. By Junior High, I moved to a school close to home, so I just walked a couple blocks to get there.
There are some awesome replacements, indeed! But so far the most original one is the vomit replacement (which I didn't download because puke is one of the things that makes me ill. I can't stand the sight of it!).

Date: 2009-01-23 02:25 am (UTC)Yup, blue barf is just what I need for my game.
I also used to have the yellow pee from MATY, but I eventually went back to the blue one after I caught one of my sim pets drinking from a puddle :P.

Date: 2009-01-22 11:56 pm (UTC)I can remember missing the bus only a few times, but it wasn't ever traumatic. My mother was a stay at home mom and I was the youngest kid (and there was only two of us) so really all it meant was Mom rushing to comb her hair and get dressed before she'd drive us to school. I do remember it felt weird walking in on those days though!
We're fortunate enough that my kids' bus goes up our road, and then at some point turns around and comes back 10 minutes later. The kids are "supposed" to board the first time through, but there have been exactly two times they missed it and I sent them out to see if they could be picked up on the return trip. :P It worked, lol.

Date: 2009-01-23 04:09 am (UTC)I also had dreams about missing the school bus when i was younger. I've not had that dream in a while now. What I do dream about tho is stairs and elevators that do not work right.

Date: 2009-01-23 09:52 am (UTC)I never rode the bus to school - my mom was a teacher so I drove to school with her until I was old enough to ride my bike - but I do keep _almost_ missing the bus when I'm going places now :/ No dreams though *LOL*

Date: 2009-01-23 12:43 pm (UTC)So aint' true!??
Good thing for me, I grow up on a country where there's no such thing as school buses (tho some people do run some kind of private 'school transport' in vans and such, but no buses).
I understand it depends on the circumstances, but I always shiver seeing kids waiting for a buz alone on corner 7am in the morning on my hood, when I know their parents could be dropping them off instead.
No way! my daughter is 15 and even tho i live now here where buses are kind of the 'big' thing, she had never needed one, never she will either! If I can drop her off and pick her up, then I'll keep doing it. True it means running all morning long to be there at the right hours, but hey! its MY child!? isn't it!?? its the least I can do imo *shrug* (and she'll never have nightmares about missing the bus either!! lol)

Date: 2009-01-23 02:00 pm (UTC)Sorry, you've no idea who I am and I will now procede to go back to lurking. But something about the buses made me really want to comment.
Probably 'cos I have to deal with them five days a week.

Date: 2009-01-24 11:18 am (UTC)A creepy thing happened a few months ago, it was all over the newspapers to warn other children and parents. A kid was being dropped off to school by her mother. She got out of the car and had to walk about 100 meters to school, when a van stopped at her side and a man behind the wheel asked to give her a lift to the school door. Luckily the little girl was wise enough to refuse. Who knows where she might have been ended if she hadn't.
