Always something new

It amazes me how many things I'm still discovering in this game. I've had Pets for ages (it was my first EP), and I've never seen this.

Look at him go! He really wants to kill that remote controlled car. It makes me wonder what other objects have interactions for cats and dogs that I don't know about.
Thewolf dog is Vermillion, pet of the Curious family. He used to be a wolf named Noodle, and Nervous owned him for a while, but I gave him to Pascal because things were getting crowded down there. He used to be white too, but I recoloured him to look more like a character from that Jungle Book Shonen Mowgli anime that used to air on TV after school back in the day. As a long-time fan of the books and just about every other adaptation of the story I could get my hands on, I did enjoy that cartoon.
All of my sims seem to own strays (and many of those are wolves). Maybe I should set up a little Mowgli on a Jungle Book themed lot for kicks one day.

Date: 2009-01-15 05:28 pm (UTC)I'm all about adopting the strays. First of all, it's easier in Summer, with the boost to relationship building (I have two of my main hoods set to perpetual Summer, which makes things easier). You'll want to engage the stray as soon as possible once they enter the lot, to give you as much time as possible.
Once I greet the stray, I start with the "give love" interactions (treats are always accepted, I think), and then play briefly with them, and keep cycling through all the available interactions. I keeping queuing them up, so there's no break to give them a window to decide to leave the lot. Most times, if I really focus the sim on these interactions, the option to adopt will appear before they decide to run off.
Otherwise, you have to wait for them to show up again, and that's random, so it might be a long wait.

Date: 2009-01-15 05:41 pm (UTC)I was never a huge Jungle Book fan. I've only ever seen the Disney version. My favorite in that was Bagheera though.

I miss the RC car. I've never played with it since I heard it can cause Very Bad Things to happen (what, I have no idea though.) Maybe someone else has more info on that or maybe it was just a hoax or something??

Date: 2009-01-15 10:28 pm (UTC)Sometimes my strays don't accept the give treat interaction and growl on the sim giving it to them, reducing also the relationship score. But they always accept strokes, so usually I use a treat-stroke-stroke-treat rutine until further options are available.
I'm still waiting for my first sim to turn into a werewolf:)
