First of all, Happy New Year, everyone! I'll be honest. I don't much like the number nine, but I'm keeping a positive attitude about this one. I rang in the new year at a wedding party, so it was a blast. We wore funny plastic fedoras. Good times were had by all.
I'm thinking of doing a voice post for that
cultofrances pronunciation challenge, but I'll probably wait until I'm back home on my own phone line (which is looking to be tommorrow). It's interesting to hear how other people's voices sound. I think you'd get a better idea of my accent if I read a short piece of writing instead of just the names, so maybe I'll read a drabble or something like that too. Any requests?
Also, I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a site that offers customized livejournal layouts with a space for inserting your own header. I want to change mine up a little with something outside of the layouts offered by default, but I don't even know where to start.

Date: 2009-01-01 09:49 pm (UTC)Reading a drabble would be a really cool way to get a sense of someone's accent, great idea! No requests in mind, though. Also no idea about a site for customized journal layouts. Tanathir and technology have a stormy relationship.
Newyears and awesomeness.

Date: 2009-01-01 10:40 pm (UTC)Happy New Year for you as well! Well, although it's not my favorite number, according to a numerology test I'm a "nine" and I was born on 1979, so I hope this will be a good year :).
How nice that you had a fun New Year's Eve :). Great way to welcome a new chapter in our lives, after all.
Well, I'm actually figuring out how to record my voice for that challenge. It's time to figure out if the way I've been pronouncing these names all this time is correct or not!
I've had this site bookmarked for months, but I haven't been able to make a decent header for my own journal. These are simple layouts, but I prefer that style myself.

Date: 2009-01-02 10:11 pm (UTC)I haven't been to the cult since posting those pics, so I didn't know about that challenge, but I noticed cindyanne try it, and it looks like fun ^_^ Dunno if I'd do it though, I'd feel so weird about it.
Thanks for that link though, just tried it out - I'm using "Will be dark soon", and I'm pretty impressed :)

Maybe you could read one of your shorter drabbles? That way we could get a feel for your accent, like you say.
I know nothing about the layouts. I'm thinking of changing my Sim one, but all the LJ ones are so... ugly.
