First of all, Happy New Year, everyone! I'll be honest. I don't much like the number nine, but I'm keeping a positive attitude about this one. I rang in the new year at a wedding party, so it was a blast. We wore funny plastic fedoras. Good times were had by all.

I'm thinking of doing a voice post for that [livejournal.com profile] cultofrances pronunciation challenge, but I'll probably wait until I'm back home on my own phone line (which is looking to be tommorrow). It's interesting to hear how other people's voices sound. I think you'd get a better idea of my accent if I read a short piece of writing instead of just the names, so maybe I'll read a drabble or something like that too. Any requests?

Also, I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a site that offers customized livejournal layouts with a space for inserting your own header. I want to change mine up a little with something outside of the layouts offered by default, but I don't even know where to start.

Happy New Year to you too! Nine is actually supposed to be a lucky number, because 3 is lucky and 9 is 3x3 I think. ANYWAY.

Reading a drabble would be a really cool way to get a sense of someone's accent, great idea! No requests in mind, though. Also no idea about a site for customized journal layouts. Tanathir and technology have a stormy relationship.

Newyears and awesomeness.

I cant believe I didn't know about this story sooner! I just spent the last week reading everything from the very beginning, and you are a fantastic writer!

Happy new year!

Happy New Year for you as well! Well, although it's not my favorite number, according to a numerology test I'm a "nine" and I was born on 1979, so I hope this will be a good year :).

How nice that you had a fun New Year's Eve :). Great way to welcome a new chapter in our lives, after all.

Well, I'm actually figuring out how to record my voice for that challenge. It's time to figure out if the way I've been pronouncing these names all this time is correct or not!

I've had this site bookmarked for months, but I haven't been able to make a decent header for my own journal. These are simple layouts, but I prefer that style myself.

And a Happy New Year back at you all :) I was born in '79 too :D

I haven't been to the cult since posting those pics, so I didn't know about that challenge, but I noticed cindyanne try it, and it looks like fun ^_^ Dunno if I'd do it though, I'd feel so weird about it.

Thanks for that link though, just tried it out - I'm using "Will be dark soon", and I'm pretty impressed :)

Happy New Year ST! I hope this year is as awesome for you as last year was.

I can't wait for you to do the Voice Post! I like hearing everyone's accents, it's so cool.

Maybe you could read one of your shorter drabbles? That way we could get a feel for your accent, like you say.

I know nothing about the layouts. I'm thinking of changing my Sim one, but all the LJ ones are so... ugly.

Also, I forgot, maybe you could read the one about why Franny doesn't like Ninjas, pirates or vampires? :P

I liked Nightmare, if you're still looking for a drabble to read. I think you're right about the names - they're not very illuminating when it comes to voices.

Wedding party at New Year's sounds awesome! Especially with fedoras. Crazy hats are always fun.

I am glad you rang in the new year in a fun place and a fun way. Mine was rather tame with a few friends.
I hope this year brings you all the joy and good things ever. Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Am I the only one who finds the voice posts creepy? Not that folks have bad voices but hearing them is just creepy.

I think the drabble idea is awesome and I am totally going to steal it. Also, if you do read a drabble I demand something with some JRO in it. But you probably ought to stay away one that's got a lot of back and forth dialogue (or maybe GO FOR IT?), because you might sound CRAAAAZY.

I would very highly recommend [livejournal.com profile] thefulcrum for layouts. I've used several and have absolutely loved them (very creative). I would also rec [livejournal.com profile] xaddictionsx (whose layout I'm currently using) and [livejournal.com profile] cartonage (you may have to go back a page or two).

Best of luck finding something that suits your fancy!
