Meet Arthur Doe:

Cute little guy, isn't he?
His stats (if I recall correctly) were something like this:
neat: 10
outgoing: 8
lazy: 2
serious: 4
nice: 10
Those are very close to Jayne's personality stats.
If you know why I called him Arthur, I'll give you a prize. No, really, I'll give you a prize. It's very much connected to Mr. Doe, but it's pretty obscure.
This was much better than my first attempt to have him give birth...

There was a little clone baby problem.
I have no idea what happened, but somewhere along the way with everything that's happened with restoring backups and adding new EPs (while Mr. Doe was still pregnant), the PT files were no longer linked to the pregnancy.
I chose to cancel it with InSIM, and just get him abducted again. The baby needed green skin.

Mr. Doe had a parade of familiar faces at his place while I was playing him. I think it was somehow connected to a wish from the genie for beauty, which supposedly makes people of your preferred sex show up at your door. In Mr. Doe's case, that would be everybody (yet somehow also nobody).

The college kids all showed up like clockwork. I think it was Phi first, then Tank, then Ripp, then Johnny... they just kept coming.

Oh, and how could I forget Circe. :P She's always out visiting her neighbours.
Here she is trying to cheat at chess against Tank.

But he caught her.

Yikes! Tank Grunt does NOT appeciate that sort of underhanded tactic.
(Could this be foreshadowing?)

Ripp was trash-talking some townies who were playing hacky sack. You don't often see him give mean reactions, so I thought it was funny.

Why does he have to be so cute?

Then Mr. Doe got pwned by lightning. It's a good thing he's in perma-platinum, and was keeping his needs up.

It happened when he went to greet Pascal, who then decided it was too late to hang out, and left WITHOUT EVEN SEEING IF HE WAS OKAY! That's pretty cold, Pascal.

So sad.

Is there anything more pitiful than a pregnant man that just got fried by lightning?

Never one to miss a male give birth, Nervous showed up, and Lazlo dropped by too.

Finally... the kid is out of his manwomb and he's actually green this time.
Nervous and Lazlo hung out all day and took turns eating out of the garbage. *snicker*

Then Lazlo took a nap in the tent, and Nervous spent HOURS getting in to chat with Lazlo, then turning right around, getting out, and complaining about how stinky Lazlo was.

Then he realized that he stinks too. What a genius.

This stylish edlerly woman made one valiant effort to bed Mr. Doe, and got him down to his undies, but he didn't go through with the deed. Even with ACR and the beauty wish that makes him have triple bolts with everyone, he's still celibate. Go figure.
Yes, he's an elder now, with two kids under his belt, and he hasn't had his first woohoo. He rolled the want to just woohoo out of nowhere too, and he's a knowledge sim with a fortune secondary. I think he's getting desperate.

Oh, and he turned into a plantsim too. The fun never stops.

He was still a plantsim when he transitioned to elder (so don't expect to see that one in the story). I love the burst of leaves.
Since I was curious, here's what Arthur will look like as an adult:

I think he's pretty cute. :)
He's a lot like Mr. Doe. The only significant features from the PT were the chin and the nose. It was the redheaded PT too, so he has nice recessives (red hair and grey eyes). I wish Jayne had recessives, but her "father" was the PT with black hair.
Anyway, Mr. Doe is no longer preggers! Now he's just an old man instead. And a plant.
Oh, and about the fail macro... do you think that one is better than Cassandra's missing face? I'm not sure which one I like better.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:08 am (UTC)I always love it when other characters show up on a lot when you don't control them. Tank and Circe playing chess, tee hee hee!
I played this knowledge sim once, and he had two alien babies, and never ever got laid. He seemed okay with it. Occasionally, a want to flirt would should up, but as long as he was skilling, he was happy. :P Mr. Doe could always try the matchmaker! :D

Date: 2008-09-15 02:28 am (UTC)Knowing where the story is eventually heading, that chess match between Tank and Circe made me laugh.
Unless they're in a relationship already, knowledge sims really don't seem to have libidos. They never want to woohoo, so I was surprised to see Mr. Doe decided that - HEY, maybe he does want to lose it afterall.
It's not like he did have any options. His house was full of 3-bolt matches, and he'd rather write in his diary. :P He's really shy and fairly mean, so that probably factors in too.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:37 am (UTC)It's not too late for him. Are there any old grannies hanging around that need loving? XD Maybe the Ottomas grandma? Just a thought. :D

Date: 2008-09-15 02:41 am (UTC)Hey, he could still go after the younger women (or men). I'm seriously tempted to have him knock up a woman, but that can't happen in the story. If I were just playing this... everyone would have way too many kids. *snicker* Some of them already have too many. The story gets complicated with all the kids, but it's hard to resist.
Maybe I could just do it and keep it a secret... :P

Date: 2008-09-15 02:47 am (UTC)Oh, and Arthur's name, is the reference something from Morrissey? Cuz if so, I might know it. :D
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 03:58 am (UTC)Yes, it has something to do with Morrissey. You have a guess?

Date: 2008-09-15 04:08 am (UTC)Ooooh, a prize!!! Uhm.......you know what I like. Surprise me. And have fun with it. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

Date: 2008-09-15 09:57 am (UTC)Well, I did have an idea for an upcoming chapter that I could do a little early preview of. I'll have fun, don't worry. ^_^

Date: 2008-09-15 01:16 pm (UTC)What I found an interesting read was the section on the ambiguity of Morrissey's sexuality. For quite some time he said he was celibate and asexual. Looks like Mr. Doe is more like his inspiration everyday. :P
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 05:23 pm (UTC)Mr. Doe's character is very much based on Moz that way. He's celibate in the story for the same reasons Morrissey is. Well, also the alien pregnancy got in his way. *snicker* That too. I worked some other details from Mr. Doe's inspiration into his story too, if you know what to look for.
But the fact that the sim himself doesn't seem interested in sex either... now that's just odd.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:10 am (UTC)I like this one better than Cassie-no-face, I think.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:17 am (UTC)Wow, I John has some really dominant features, whenever my sims get abducted they almost ALWAYS get the big eyes.
I like this macro better!
Then he realized that he stinks too. What a genius.
Heeee, I love Nervous. So much. What
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 02:33 am (UTC)John does have dominant features. They even pass on from Jayne really strongly based on my experiments (for that "potential future" scene with Johnny and their kids - as a sidenote, their genes blend well too).
Yeah, I think I will go with this macro.
It's really funny, isn't it? They do such silly things when they're out of your control.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:20 am (UTC)Poor Mr. Doe! Not only did his pregnancy (errr... pregnancies) lasted forever, he also got pwned by lighting! Arthur is adorable (hee, and he could be Helena's half bro too).
This is pretty immature, but those pics of Ripp being "mean" make him look as if he were trying to poop :D. That's exactly the same face my students did when I was potty training them at school.
Hmmm... from your pics it seems like Lazlo is going back to his old self, right? I guess things with Crystal didn't work out very well.
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 02:37 am (UTC)Heheh. I totally see that. :P That's why I found him so cute. I thought the pose made him seem like a little boy. Your comment explains why.
Well, maybe. I wanted Lazlo's hair to be growing back, but then I realized that when I show him again, I can't have quite that much time passing, so I'm going back to a bit shorter to do my next scebe with him. But either way (with or without Crystal), he is going to grow his hair back out.

Date: 2008-09-15 02:35 am (UTC)And poor Mr. Doe! So much drama! So little sex! It's like the game thinks he's really Moz!

Date: 2008-09-15 02:39 am (UTC)I think little Arthur turned out well. I always hope for pointy ears, but it's good that they're not too common.

Date: 2008-09-15 06:13 am (UTC)I love that knowledge sims are all "weeeeell, there's no outlet so there's NO NEED, DAMN IT." Much more dignified than romance sims constant need for physical intimacy. They're just dogs. :)
I nagged my fiancé into trying the Sims last night and he kept failing at everything (the single mother lost her son to military school, I've never had that happen) and poor Greta had such low needs all the time. I caught him hissing "social service took your child, your home looks like a pile of garbage, you haven't eaten since yesterday and you still want to woohoo?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??"

Date: 2008-09-15 04:19 pm (UTC)ROFL!!
Oh, god, I do that all the time. Yell at my sims when they do something stupid. I think I spend most of my time yelling at the brain-dead nannies as they torture my toddlers.
That gave me a good chuckle.
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 05:43 pm (UTC)Romance sims need a self-woohoo interaction. :P
I love seeing the reactions from people who haven't played the game before. We've come to accept so many of the stupid and quirky things they do. Or how flamboyant they are. My SO likes to comment on how feminine all the male sims seem, and I can't really argue with him. There's something very fluid about the way they move, and just look at them dance! Not very butch.

Date: 2008-09-15 07:53 am (UTC)Not sure which fail macro to go with though since they're both LOL-worthy.

Date: 2008-09-15 12:09 pm (UTC)I just love how much variation there can be with the alien genes. You never know what you'll end up with, especially with the multi-PT replacement. I love that. I wish I was getting something other than just black hair and alien eyes, though. I need to up my alien hybrid breeding program to try to get more variety. There are a couple of single guys in various neighbourhoods that are just begging to be abducted. Cyd Roseland is probably due for another probing too. :P His last alien kid, Balizarde, didn't have any of his traits. He's basically a clone of the default PT.
no subject
Date: 2008-09-15 09:46 pm (UTC)I still use the Maxis default PT and I love him! Sure, the babies are all black haired, black-eyed green babies, but I get a lot of personality differences and subtle facial differences. Plus I have to love the original PT for giving me Anther who is the most awesome alien in my game ever!

Date: 2008-09-15 12:06 pm (UTC)"never one to miss a male give birth" *snort* He is always there for the harvest of manwomb fruit. Silly Nervous.
So you can put the tent on a home lot? Yeah, that makes me want BV a little more. Kids could have slumber parties!

Date: 2008-09-15 06:07 pm (UTC)Nervous is so into babies, and the idea that he might be able to produce one himself, that he became a midwife that specializes in mpreg.
Yeah, and they get in and chat. It's pretty cute. I like all the little items like that in BV. The hammock is great too.

Date: 2008-09-15 04:30 pm (UTC)At least he survived the experience.
It's funny how sometimes you run across a sim (or family) that never seems to catch a break.
I think both the macos are pretty good.
Arthur's pretty cute and he grows up well, too.
Even with ACR he didn't want to woohoo? Boy, talk about playing hard to get! It's not supposed to be impossible to get! :)

Date: 2008-09-16 01:36 am (UTC)So THAT's why I kept getting college kids show up and ring the doorbell in my house! I kept wondering if it was a glitch of some kind, but I didn't see it anywhere..
Is Mr. Doe ever going to get any?
