I haven't made any progress on the next update at all, because I've spent all my computer time today just rounding up cc. I've located most of it, but I still need to find a few stray items. Here's the list (for my own reference, but you can help if you like):

Jaxy's new hair - I had this bookmarked, but the bookmarks are gone too. I remember hunting around a lot for this, so it may take a while to find (and I need it before I can finish my SST challenge entry for this month - looks like that's going to be late). While I'm at it, I want to find that female conversion of the Seasons caesar hairstyle. That looks like a great one for the ladies who prefer more masculine hair.

Stella's dress - This one always baffles me. I looked it up once before, and did find it, but it was a struggle. I'll find it, but the loss of my bookmarks makes it more difficult. Oh, and I have no idea about her eye makeup either. Hmmm... where did I get that?

I mentioned Edie's hair already, and I also need to find a way to get one of Tyler's dresses for Erin Beaker (that can wait a while, since she's not in the next update, though). SimplySims2 is down right now, and I have no other way to get his stuff.

Not surprisingly, I found some shiny new cc during my hunt, so I'll share a little of that with you.

Isn't Bianca cute? She's sporting a recolour of Raonsims Female Hair 24 from Rissa Styles, which I had never checked out before, but has a number of Maxis-ish recolours of some popular meshes. Look how lovely and not overly shiny that hair is. It's not exactly a Maxis match, but it fits in. I like how dark the brown is, and I think it really suits her. She's wearing her original glasses, because I like those frameless ones. I'll often keep the glasses if a sim comes with them, or just switch the styles to something cc. I love glasses, so I add them to sims all the time. I only ditch the sunglasses. Yeah, sunglasses just have to go for me. I'm not a fan. Aren't personal quirks interesting?

She's wearing the sort of makeup I typically use on my sims. In this case, she has Lyran eyelashes (I'd link, but the site seems to be gone - I think she was shutting it down, right?), and HystericalParoxysm's Natural Beauty: Subtle Lipstick. No eyeshadow, since I often skip it, and no blush, since I always skip it. Freckles, however, have been heaped on like birch to the fire in the middle of February. She has about three layers of freckles there. I think they look good on her.

Thanks to my new system of organizing my downloads, it's easy for me to tell you where I found all those freckles. I picked them up from Sirona Sims, Helaene (here in the graveyard), Lyran (again, no link - I made a back file with her stuff in it), alkaloid at MTS2 (here and here), SIMetrical (here, and I also gave her a beauty mark from here), and migamoo at MTS2. Yeah, I'm a bit obsessed with freckles now. I blame [personal profile] simgaroop, since I seem to have caught the freckle bug from her after I downloaded her Tim and Helena. They came with pretty freckles, which lead me to want more and MORE. I'm a little odd, I know.

This outfit is a little something for when you'd like your ladies to be more casual and less skin-tight. It's a mesh created from bits and pieces of Maxis meshes by Aner-Dyfan, with textures by Oepu. You can find a number of great Maxis match items at Oepu's site. She has a page on MTS2 too.

Now, back to her real outfit...

That's right, Bianca. Show off your new boots.

Bianca is wearing separates by migamoo. The shirt is the jacketed top (I also use that one on Lola Curious) and the pants are the booted bottoms. Both can be found on migamoo's page on MTS2.

This reminds me of those silly simsecrets (what happened to that this week, anyway?) that wondered why anyone would make Maxis match content. They were all like, "If I wanted Maxis, I'd use it." Well, that's nice, dear, but for those of us who do like the Maxis content, we'd like more variety. We want LOTS more. These two migamoo pieces greatly expand the selection of seperates for my females, and they fit with the rest of the game.

I don't get the point of that "secret". It's like me making one that says "I hate photo skinning." Well, I do. It's not a secret. I like things to look handpainted and rich and cartoony, just like the rest of the game. The anti-Maxis bunch have plenty of it to choose from, so they shouldn't worry. There's enough room on the internet for all of us (unless someone forgot to mention something to me - are we running out of space?).

Do you think she's happy? That's a pretty huge grin, Bianca.

That makes me wonder... does anyone ever use teeth replacements on their sims? Is there even such a thing as a teeth replacement? Or is it just masks? I know they look like dentures, or cardboard cut-outs, but I like the teeth. They make me laugh.

Bianca is a pretty nifty little sim to play. She's a family sim, but her single male friend, Kent Capp, starts the game with a slight preference for males (I checked it in SimPE and it's true). He's the only Maxis sim that starts the game gay. Circe is set to be bisexual. Nervous Subject starts with no attraction to males, and negative attraction to females, but that's not the same thing. That's more like some type of anti-sexuality. So there you have it. One honest-to-goodness gay sim by design, so I may as well make the most of it.

So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with Kent and Bianca, but it won't be marrying them and pumping out children. I figure, if they're already friends, she most likely knows he's gay. The backstory mentions how Kent's family doesn't approve of her "affections" for him, but that can mean friendship as well as romance, so that's how I'm going to take it. She's his girl friend, not his girlfriend. I relate to her more already, since I have a Kent of my own that way. Now she wants to fall in love, so I need to find her someone nice (and preferably a playable sim - maybe there's a uni character from La Academie that would make a nice match).

She's into arts and crafts and is currently in the dance career in my game (she starts unemployed), which is fun. She rolled the want to buy a pottery wheel too. Don't you love how, since FT, sims want to buy items that are relevant to their interests? It makes sense.

Oh, and speaking of cc, the Sims 2 Store has opened. One side of my brain is telling me to download the handful of hairs that I really want (the clothes are a big dud for me - only maybe one or two decent outfits, and no new separates), but the other side is afraid of SecurRom. *looks at computer* Yeah, I'm really afraid of that. Also, WTF is up with the mandatory patching of FT?

Man, I really want that short and choppy hair for Jaxy, though. That's a great lesbian 'do. I could see her growing out the fauxhawk in favour of that, for sure.

Must... resist... buying...

I will resist. I can't have SecurRom on my computer again. I'm not even sure it's to blame for my issues, but it seems like a little too much of a coincidence. I'm avoiding it at all costs (or, in this case, $savings$).

Remember when Maxis used to post free downloads for their valued customers? They make so much money anyway. Do they even realize how much cash we give them by buying all of the EPs and SPs? After that, they still want more?

Yeah, screw that. EA can suck my left ovary.

Awh, Bianca is adorable! I always used to hook her up with Kent Capp, because I never checked gender preferences before. Thanks to the ACR adjuster thiny I got my first gay sim that I didn't make gay. It was so awesome xD Because her mother was dating all these loser guys and then she grows up and says "Eh, I think women would be better," xD

I really like Bianca. She's cute, and also seems like she has good genetics (her sons would have chins, which I like). I had intended to pair her off with Kent too, until I remembered someone mentioning that he was preprogrammed to be gay (I think it was aledstrange). Since I go out of my way to squeeze all the possible gayness out of the Maxis characters as it is, I can't very well ignore Kent's true orientation, right?

So ACR creates sims that are gay? Is there a percentage that you can set it at? That's very cool. I like the idea of having it randomly generated for new sims.

Is the store not accessible for Mac users? I didn't know that. That really sucks.

Thanks. I liked the earthy tones for her complexion and hair colour, and it makes her seem sensible and laid back. She's a well-balanced cancer, and outside of the whole Capps vs. Montys feud, so that seemed to work for her.

Well, migamoo does a lot of great stuff for males and females. Oepu, like I mentioned, and the Maxis Dreams site. All those conversions by cloudlessnights on MTS2. I also use HystericalParoxysm and fanseelamb stuff, which isn't Maxis match, as such, but it fits in.

I'm working on a resources page, so that will give more detail for you. This rebuilding of my downloads folder should help me get that together.

If I ever get more involved in making cc, I'm going to retexture some hair meshes to make them more Maxis-like. That's something I would love to see more of. There are tonnes of great meshes out there, but not many with the Maxis textures and colours.

Well, I did a little googling, and *cough, cough* they seem to already be out there on the internet, free for the taking. My morals didn't keep me from getting all the pre-order items that way, and I'm thinking that those feelings might extend to this EA store too.

Somebody did a better mesh of the long curly hair, it's on page 4. It gives them a giant forehead otherwise, lol.

Oh, thank you. That's very cool. Those meshes with the giant foreheads were ridiculous. Nobody's head is shaped that way. It made me LOL, but then it made me angry that they were actually expecting people to pay for them.

Yeah, the EA store is just a big loss to me as well. Though I admit I do like the two new collections they've posted, but I'll cool my heels until I find some other way to get them. :P
The new hairs I'm mostly 'meh' about, I'd want them to be heavily modded before using them. I can't stand that uber-forehead! Too bad, that curly mesh is pretty otherwise.
Lyran's site is still up to me! Maybe you caught it in a server hiccup?

Yeah, there are a couple of hairs that I like, and some clothing and objects, but mostly it's just crap like those gorilla heads. Oh, don't we all want to download those... *snicker*

With these items being downloads, and not connected to a specific EP or SP, they'll be easy to obtain. They're already out there, even.

Oh, that's good. I hope that Lyran sticks around. I know that the site was at risk of shutting down, but maybe that didn't happen.

Yeah. I made the mistake of downloading one of their freebies. I was wondering why a simple couch would be 48 MB, and lo and behold, the patch installed itself. But my game wasn't borked (much) to begin with!!!!!!

Non-existent fine print indeed. I'm glad I read that before I caved in and bought something. Now I'm just going to see what gets uploaded at MATY. A lot of people are fixing the stuff and posting it there.

I really hope you don't have the SuckRom now. I don't know if it's included in the store downloads, but I've heard rumours. I'm just paranoid, but I think I have good reason to be.

If you don't mind uploading it, that would be great. I'll eventually figure out where it came from.

I'm currently on the verge of just... deleting my downloads folder and start over. There's something in there that keeps crashing my game and I'm sick of looking for it.

I'm sorry you had to deal with fuck-u-rom and lose all your files. I bought a computer last weekend and that horrible, horrible software also disabled the DVD-rom drive. I thought I was being paranoid, but now I know that the threat is real.

I saw Stella's dress once, but I can't remember where. There's a similar one in this site, though:

http://www.sims2code.hk/english/dlpages/skin003.php (this is also a nice Maxis match site).

As for the converted "Ceasar" hair for females, you can download it here:

http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=3933.0 (at the end of the thread, although you can also get the "short messy hair" for girls too).

I can also recommend this site for object recolours:

Good luck with your search :)

This comment is going to be all over.

First, you CAN get teeth downloads. Specifically FRONTS. No joke, I found them once for a MATY more awful contest. They were hideous. You can get braces, too. (oops, those aren't default replacements, though).

Second: EA store. Go on over to MATY and check out the peasantry. I *think* someone fiddled with some of the ea store stuff and made it available (free) for all. Your hairs might be there (I'm all about the one female hair, long in front, short in back, I'm going to get the adele version for free)

I'm with you on the "maxis match" thing. That secret was good though. It turned me on to a site I've never heard of (there are a lot of sites I've never heard of, I live in this weird sims bubble).

Thanks for sharing your finds. I can never seem to find anything interesting when I go sims clothes shopping (I'm also really picky, not wanting to download just any old thing). I love migamoos (and cloudlessnights) stuff. Conversions for the win!

(oh and I blame simgaroop for my freckle love, too. Cosmo Broke turned me on to them and now I've put them on a new Peculiar sim. Bianca's freckles are lovely and I'll probably use your links to get some more speckles for my own brood)

You can get fronts? Wow. I have seen some teeth "masks", like I said. They were full face makeup, that gave the sim nicer teeth. Seems like a lot of work, though, and I need that full face category for things like freckles and scars.

Yeah, I looked around to see if that stuff was leaking out already. You can download torrents for it too, which is not surprising, but I trust the stuff on MATY a little better. They wouldn't accidentally package it up with SecurRom. And someone even fixed that giant forehead curly hair mesh. *snicker* That was ridiculously bad.

I hope that someone takes those hairs and makes them for all ages. That would be great. For now, I'm going to test the MATY offerings out in a special folder in my downloads, so I can easily remove them if they're hideous.

Yeah, I laughed at how many people piped up at that secret. People love Maxis match stuff, and there isn't enough of it. If I ever decide to challenge myself by making some cc (which I'm considering), it will be to retexture some nice cc hair meshes to be more Maxis-like. I really like a lot of the Raonsims meshes for girlier stuff, but the textures are really shiny and in odd colours.

I really picky about cc too. Sometimes I go a little crazy, but then I end up deleting most of it after I've checked it out in-game. If there is any little flaw, I usually axe it. I'm really picky about the textures, especially. Conversions are great, and I love when they conbine different elements of meshes to make new stuff, like migamoo does. She adds those H&M jeans and converse sneakers to just about everything too, which I really like.

I love sharing finds. I learn about a lot of great stuff from other people posting about cc, so you never know when you might enlighten someone.

Curse that simgaroop and her freckle obsession! I'm really glad I saw her nice helaene freckles, because the ones I tried before that were awful (they looked more like blackheads), and I gave up on them, thinking they were all bad. I found some really great ones. Alkaloid (on MTS2) even has some coloured freckles for alien and creature skintones. Now that is cool.

Oh, and I love how Tybalt looks as a young adult. He has such a cool gaunt face. I'm looking forward to aging him up now. Veronaville is a lot of fun to play. I'm going to have it there in the background in my story, and maybe use it for some shorter things. I'm loving the trend of everyone in the Monty family being in the culinary career. I want to have them open a restaurant now.

I'd love to do something with the relationship between Bianca and Kent. They're interesting characters in the way they sit outside the whole Capp-Monty thing, just watching it from afar. I can just picture them gossiping about it all over a bottle of wine in Bianca's living room.

Bianca seems so cool, I love that hair as well, Also, those separates by Migamoo are absolutely love for me, I LOVE the way they look. You can never go wrong with Maxis Match, in my opinion. :)

Yeah, there are a lot of sims that I like in Veronaville. I feel like I'm cheating on Strangetown a little, but it's all part of the wider global scene of that world, and it's interesting to make connection between the hoods. V'ville has some great strong female characters. I like Reagan a lot too, and Titania.

Strangetown is a bit of a sausage-fest in comparison, though it does offer quality over quantity. Nobody can compare to the pure evil of Olive, or the sexy and dangerous Circe. Yeah, those are strong female characters. Then there's Ophelia and Jill, who I really enjoy playing and writing about.

Migamoo does awesome separates, and they're much needed. I LOVE her pencil skirt. So classic and useful.

Kent Capp is gay? Now that I find interesting...

It hasn't stopped him leaping into bed with Titiania in my legacy house and fathering a child on her.... Trouble is as the Pc crashed big-style yesterday and my poor husband spent all last night re-doing everything.. I have no sims and have no idea if that game is still "available"

Eagerly awaiting the next installment and when I can work out what to do, I'll put up things of my own

Your Bianca is so beautiful. I always forget her name in my game, I keep thinking Cassandra....wonder why? She is a vampire.

Sims store, though I love the idea of it, it's too expensive; I'm afraid to spend that much money on that stuff. most of the clothes and hair is nice. I want the gowns for my dark elves. Perfect for them. Hopefully they will lower the prices.

As far as FT patch and securom..I just don't know. i dl'd the patches already. so...
