I just dropped by The Box Factory to see if my significant other had posted anything new, and I caught a glimpse of some familiar silhouettes in his latest page of drawings, so I thought I'd share.

Warning: There are drawings of nekkid wimmins on this page too. That's why it's called "Figgers" (aka "figures").

I'm probably a little biased, but I just love his titles. He posted a drawing of some local houses (there are some pretty wacky looking shacks there) and called it "Banal Probing", which made me laugh for hours on end. Maybe it's less funny if you haven't gone to art school, and haven't had to endure as many (dead serious) conversations about "the banal" as I have.

Can you spot the work in progress?

Hmm, does that give a clue as to Ripp's new hairstyle? ;)

Errr... maybe. :P (I was hoping you might not notice that part. It doesn't give a lot of detail anyway.)

The best things about it is that I don't even tell him a whole lot about the characters, but he zeroed in on Johnny to use as the butt of the joke in all his action scenes. So funny.

Hee. Delete my comment if you wish to fly that under the readers' radar. :D But you're right, the detail's not enough to really tell what it is.

However, I had a panicky moment when I thought you'd given Ripp the General's flat-top! :O

Poor Johnny, always the butt of the joke. :D

Nah. It's okay. It's there for them to see, and I did link to it. I expected someone to notice, really.

It's funny you mention that, because it really does look like the General's hair. :P Now THAT would be a shocker.

Johnny's just a classic straight man for a comedy routine, isn't he?

Ow, it looks really good. I like that picture with the three of them. I can't wait to see Ripp's new hair though. ;)

It should be nice, I think. He's going to put more effort into it, doing a lot more with colouring and shading, and he's going to ink it with a brush and all that. Pretty cool.

The hair will come in good time... I'm getting closer to where I feel happy with the next chapter enough to post the first part. I had a feeling it might be tonight, but I can't say for sure. There are parts that leave me hemming and hawing, though, and when I feel that way, I usually just sit on it for a while.

I love the house drawings!

You know I need to step away from the computer and the sims. The second I saw the one house with the knocked over trashcan, I immediately thought, "Ugh. I hope I get someone to pick that up soon or I'll have to deal with everyone getting the flu."

Yeah, those are a lot of fun. I realized after I posted this that only the top house is from life (and he made up the others). That house can be seen out of our living room window. An odd guy who walks everywhere in town while reading a book lives there (yeah, that's safe). Yesterday we watched him mow the lawn with sandals on - always a good idea if you want to lose a toe.

LOL! I get like that too. I wonder who they pissed off to get their trash can knocked over.

I really liked the house drawings, and I giggled at the comic strip where the little dude who reminds me of a Fairy GodParent makes a disgusting sandwich for Azrael (LOL). That's the kind of conversation my sisters and I have now and then (Kraft vs French mustard, or why the cheap yellow one tastes better than the expensive dijon one :P). The smell scrabble sounds like a cute game too (I'd play it! :D).

It actually took me a while to notice the work in progress! :P

The little Fairy GodParent guy is Dermot, the dermoid cyst. :P Gross, huh? He's one of those weird little growths that people sometimes get that can have human hair, eyes, and teeth in them, among other things (oh, the joys of nature). He and Azrael (I don't have to tell you what he is, right? LOL) are both jerks, and then you have Hearty, the nice guy (and there's also Dr. Grey - the "brainy" guy *snicker*). Poor Hearty has to put up with a lot from those guys.

Yeah, I'd play that smell game too. It sounds like fun. :D

I saw the final sketch for the drawing yesterday. It's a lot like that rough, but there's more specific detail in it. The characters look quite different from his other version of them. Phi looks really nice this time, most notably. I really like it, and can't wait to see it inked up and coloured.

Ooo! I really love the body language in both the trio WIP and all of the 'wimmins'. I think I've said it before, but your SO is super talented.
