Okay, I can't resist sharing these pics, spoilers or not. This will give away a minor detail about the next chapter, but nothing all that serious.

Yeah, Edie. She's hot and talented, and she's taking her flower hobby to the next level, with a little help from Florence Delarosa. This will be explained in the next chapter, but for now, I just wanted to share some fun photos, even if they are minor spoilers. OFB can be so much fun, with all the random playables coming in as customers. I found myself constantly amused.

Ripp thinks that Florence is hot. Big surprise.

Why is Ripp working here too? Well, because he's a puppy dog, and he followed Phi to work, that's why. Are you surprised? His band is put on the shelf for now, and he needs the cash. Florence caught on to the fact that he could charm the pants off just about anyone, so she put him to work selling flowers.

I saw this scenario coming way, way back. I always planned for Ophelia to have a flower shop one day (as soon as I got her the workbench, I was making plans), and I knew that Ripp would always have some reason to be around her, barring anything really extreme, so I saw him helping with sales ([personal profile] simgaroop had a very similar plot in her Helena storyline, which also involves Ripp, and my reaction was "Oh no! She beat me to it!" Great minds think alike, we'll say?).

I thought that Ripp would obviously excel at sales, with the nice/outgoing personality, and his excess of charisma (he's maxed in my game - Ripp has max creativity too, but not many other skills). He was really good. He had a gold talent badge after one or two work days, which is just insane.

Want to see him in action?

Ripp: Listen, if you're in the doghouse, and there's a baby on the way, you basically NEED this bouquet. Trust me.

Ripp: Lazlo, this succulent is to DIE for! You've never seen something so awesome.

Lazlo: Squeee!!!

Lazlo: Thanks, man!

Ripp: It's been a pleasure doing business with you, Uncle Laz.

Ripp: OMG! You're Angela!

Angela: Are you trying to steal my bracelet?

Ripp: You want the snapdragon! It's awesome. It's MAGICALLY! No really, it's has magic powers. It's like some really great drug, but it doesn't, umm, eff you up afterwards.

Samantha: Really?!

Ripp: Really. Phi made them. My Phi - my friend, Phi. That's her over there. It's her specialty.

Samantha: *buys*

Ripp: How about this one, Vidcund?

Vidcund: No! Didn't you hear me? It has to be really sophisticated...

Ripp: It's an orchid... that IS sophisticated.

Vidcund: Ummm, no. She's not... I mean, I'm not interested in orchids.

Ripp: Alright. Cool, man. *thumbs up* Let me know if you need help.

Ripp has sold her his "flowers" before, hasn't he?

And he scores again.

A bonsai tree for Edie? Oh, yes. She loves it. That will look so cool in her apartment.

You'd be crazy not to have Ripp selling your products, really. He goes over REALLY well with most customers.

On his break, he enjoys some slap dancing. The fun never stops.

You probably noticed Johnny in there too (the green skin is hard to miss). :P He won't be involved like this in the story, at least for now. He's very busy. But for gameplay, how could I leave him out?

This is all going to play out a certain way in the next chapter, but I was having a lot of fun just playing the business from Florence's lot, with the added benefit of lots of time with J/R/O, and no time passing back at LFT. Yeah, I could play them forever, really. Sim love can be all-consuming.

Hahaha! I loved the talk between Ripp and Vidcund, who was trying to find flowers for Circe! She is NOT sophisticated indeed! :P
Oh yeah, I'd buy anything from him any day.

I don't know... I think Circe is very sophisticated. Very evil too, maybe, but very sophisticated. Vidcund looks nervous. (That reminds me... Ripp sold a bunch of stuff to Nervous too, but I didn't get a pic.)

I think he's a born salesman, really. I'd buy whatever he's selling. :D

So maybe you're right about Circe. But yes- Ripp's definitely a born salesman! :)

Circe's too good for any of the objects from Free Time. Forget the orchid, Vid, and go get one of the fancy floral arrangements from Celebration Stuff. (Did I mention how much I love all the flowers I have now, with all these packs installed?)

He really is. Very few of his sales socials ever fail, but when they do, the customer usually goes to complain to Florence. *snicker* He comes on too strong sometimes.

I LOVE the flowers from the Celebration SP. My Frances does too. I really need to give him all of the flowers he had in LFT back. But then again, their house is already packed with useless decorations from the Kitchen & Bath SP. (Can't you tell I love decorating their place? If I could I would re-do it in every chapter of Immortal Beloved that takes place in their house.) Those SPs were MADE for certain Sims, lemme tell ya. :P

I love that the Sims with the gold badges can be too pushy at times. It's hilarious.

I get really into decorating too. It's a lot of fun. Then I get to subject all of my readers to my questionable taste. :P Those Celebration Stuff flowers are really nice and showy. They really are perfect for Frances.

I think the rejection depends on the relationship and the personality of the other sim too. It's really funny that they can come on too strong, even when they're good at what they do.

I only get into decorating certain houses. Usually it's ones where the sims inside would actually care about decorating. Others I just do it once and then it stays like that the whole time I'm playing them. I'm really thinking about doing what I said about re-decorating every day in the Worthington/Wrightley's house. My Frances is just crazy enough to do that.

And that reminds me. I haven't played Buck since I moved him out of college! *goes to re-decorate his house now*

That is so cool! I can envision the three of them working together like that, as a team. (When I saw them in the store I was thinking, Oh, they finally graduated. Guess not. :P )

I think it works quite well for the three of them to work a business like that. Ophelia makes the product and just oversees it all, working the cash, etc. Ripp does the selling. Johnny makes sure everything is restocked and in order. Johnny writing up his reorders on his notepad makes me giggle. It's just SO Johnny. All business.

No, not graduated yet. *snicker* It's coming, though... soon, I swear. (Just not THAT soon.)

I laughed everytime time he reached out to them. As if he was trying to dazzle them with his spirit fingers *nudge nudge*.

I was gonna say something, since I saw a Ripp like figure in the christ glitch shot before, but just chalked it up to the hair being on a townie or whatever. The thought of him working in the shop since the band is over for now came to me too.

Phi and Ripp going into business together? *raises eyebrow*

And hell, wouldn't take long for me to buy some flowers for him. How much for a lil something extra? :P:P:P:P

*snort* Spirit fingers. Ripp's personality is perfect for that dazzle interaction. I've even described him as being very touchy-feely, and here he is, pawing over all the customers.

Yeah, he had his back to the camera, but I thought he might get picked out of the image. He does need a new source of income, since I've suggested that the Grunt boys are a little strapped for cash, having no access to their father's saving just yet (once they get that, they'll have more money than they know what to do with, probably).

Well, it shows that Ripp really isn't going anywhere in the J/R/O situation, doesn't it? ;)

*snicker* Ripp's flower shop just might have a back room for special arrangements.

Hee Hee! I knew it! I SO recognized Ripp's lazy slouch in that pic in your last entry. Between that pose and the odd way YA walk in the game (as if they had a stick in their asses, according to a very accurate description I read once), I wonder how funny Ripp must be "in action".

I actually only had Ripp work as a salesman for a few sim hours (to take a couple pics for the story), but yup, he had no trouble charming his clients, including his brother Tank (I wish I had taken a pic of that, though, Tank was pretty pissed at him!). The "dazzle" interaction is hilarious, I love the crazy face the clients make when it's succesful.

I loved the "cameos" in these pics. Between Genesis (LOL), Angela, Bella Goth and that green girl in the back (she's the one whose bedroom I psychoanalyzed the other day, right? I recognized those pants!). Poor Vidcund!

*snort* Yeah, those YAs do walk all bow-legged and funny, don't they? They're really slow too. Whoever designed that animation does think very highly of college kids. :P

I love how Ripp shows up to work and immediately settles into that slouch (he's always the last to arrive too). Then he perks up and gets down to business. He wears himself out halfway through the day because he dazzles people way too much. He nearly makes himself pass out by 1:00 pm, so I have Florence send him home, and she takes over the sales.

Also funny is his constant humming and whistling, caused by his musical hobby. That really suits Ripp, to have him taking a break to hum a little tune. Do-do-DO-doo... It really makes me smile.

Oh, really? It's a lot of fun to watch him in action. I have the business at level ten now, since nearly every interaction from Ripp results in a quality star. My other secret to level ten success is selling snapdragons. They keep the customers and the employees refreshed while they're waiting to be purchased. I'd recommend having them in every business. I can see why they included such an object in OFB. It can be very hard otherwise.

That's the greatest thing about the business lots - get all these random interactions between the townsfolk. Good for picking up on little details in the characters.

Actually, the green girl is Lola, Johnny's Aunt. She wears the female H&M jeans, so I can see how you'd make that connection. That wasn't the mystery girl. We'll have to wait a while before I reveal that.

I have a technical question... How did you get them all into uniforms without their faces changing? Everytime I've tried to set my employees up in uniforms, I get this freaky glitch where their face defaults to something else. I've seen it happen with face one/two, but I've also heard it can happen with whatever the owner's face is.

From: [identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com
I have the same problem too and it really bugs the crap out of me. It isn't only face one and face two, it's EVERY face turns out to have no eyebrows and brown eyes. And their makeup goes away. It's really disturbing. It's the main reason why I haven't had anyone start a business in a while. :(

Yeah, that does sound like a drag. I haven't seen that yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

You could always have the sim dress appropriately from home, or just let them work in their normal clothes. For some businesses, that would work just fine.

I don't know, but that did happen to me when I tried to put a uniform on Florence. She actually had a female Nervous Subject face, which concerned me a little, so I went back to her usual clothing. I haven't tried it again.

Could it be that young adult sims somehow avoid that glitch?

I know. How inspiring. If I slap dance on my breaks from work, would it makes me happier and more productive? Most people just go for a smoke, but I think Ripp has the right idea here.

Ripp LOVES to slap dance. Sometimes, he and Johnny will be fighting over who gets to dance with Phi, and then Ripp will give up and just start slap dancing by himself instead, as if to say, "Who needs you two, when I can slap dance?" *snicker* Then they eventually join in too. They are just too silly.

You're so right... OFB is so much fun. I haven't played a business in a while but I think I might have to get something going again. Your flower shop looks beautiful too! I always forget I can sell the flowers out of the Buy catalog too! :P

I have also had Ripp operate a business in a game long ago... he owned a liquor store. :P.

I think OFB might be my favourite EP, now that I've had a chance to play them all. It's a lot of fun, and it's challenging too. What's not to like?

I didn't design the flower shop. That's the way it looks when you load Florence's lot, though I did rearrange all the items on the shelves. I think the Celebration Stuff flowers look really nice in the flower shop.

Ripp running a liquor store is amusing. How did you you pull that off? Was it all cc?

Totally cute! and it seems so Rippropriate. I doubt if the General would approve of his son working in a flower shop... even if it is a paying job.

Lazlo's squee-face and the Ottomas interactions made me laugh.

Ripp has sold her his "flowers" before, hasn't he?

Yeah, wasn't it a cherry blossom bouquet? ;)

But tsk-tsk, Ripp. Ask Angela for her autograph, but don't pinch her jewelry, man. That's not cool. :D

I never understood why people don't like OFB. It's one of the best expansions (in my opinion). It's a game within a game. How can you NOT like that?

Have you earned any of the perks yet? I was diddling about with them (in a Nocheat toy store) and you have one sim impart wisdom to another. It's hilarious, they do this little brain wave dealie. I could watch it all day.
