I was hoping to finish my entry for the latest [community profile] simstorytellers challenge tonight, but it's not going to happen, so in an attempt to stay true to my word, and continue to post every day this month (I'm going to be lucky if I make it to the halfway point), here's a little photo from that project anyway.

Pretty cute, don't you think?

If you're close, post it anyway! (I had something in mind for that, too. Too bad I had zero time this week. T_T)

It's really not close enough for me to post it. I'll get it up in the next couple of days. It's not like it matters that much, since the challenges aren't competitive or anything like that. Nobody will read it, probably, since they only check for entries on the deadline date, but it will still be done.

Well, you could still do it too, after the fact, like I will be doing.

I think I will. I mean, it's written, I'd just have to take the shots. ^__^

He looks a lot cuter here than when I saw him in bodyshop. :P

God, look at the pics in the back, talk about lavish!

Sims usually look much better in-game than they do in bodyshop, in my experience. Having facial expressions makes a big difference too.

That's the Worthingtons for you. They're filthy rich. I can't wait to do Charlotte's wedding to Malcolm Landgraab at some point. That will be quite the lavish affair.

Yeah, bodyshop kinda kills on the looks.

Good lord, I wish you luck on that setup, as it'll take some time to set up. If it was me, I'd totally avoid anything but what was absolutely necessary. :P

CAS is like that too. I often test out genetic combinations with the Maxis sims there, and the resulting sims can look quite disappointing, but they look much better in the game.

Yeah, it will be a nightmare to set up, but it will be so worth it. I think I'll make a community lot just for the occasion. I haven't done a community lot wedding yet, so it will be fun. I'm in a wedding planning mode, so I'll enjoy it (watch me put more effort into a sim wedding than my own... I can just see it now). That wedding will be the backdrop for some interesting story developments, so I'll go all out for it (but that's getting a bit ahead of myself).

He's so adorable. He looks like the kind of toddler who's always right on the cusp or fully breaking into tears. So cute. :D

Sort of like how the adult Frances always looks like he's about to burst into tears too? :P I think he's really sweet. I have him shown as a toddler, child, and teen for this little short. He's very cute as a teen.

Yes. XD Man, I think it's sort of lucky he's not a Romance Sim: he'd be run over by all the maternal/paternal instinct Sims. "Must pet cuddle take care of feed soup wrap in gauze keep forever!!!1" kind of reaction. *cackle*

I agree. Frances is the sort of sim that people would bring home and ask their parents if they could keep him. :P

I'd have recognized him from the eyebrows. Even as a toddler, he's still got that same slightly sad, slightly bewildered expression on his face.

The Worthingtons have very distinctive eyebrows. As for the expression, I try to catch Frances in expressions that enhance his natural pout.

Awww! His eyes look so sad :(.

If he were real, I'd so give him a hug!

I also won't be able to finish my entry for this week's challenge on time. I got carried away "building" a preschool for it and got distracted while I was looking for CC to decorate it. The preschool is complete now, though, so I hope to post my drabble tomorrow :P.

Frances has the saddest eyes of any sim I've ever seen. The grey colour and the thick eyelashes make him seem so forlorn.

It's fun to get sidetracked on building projects like that. I often get taken up in little distraction projects. Recently, I've even toyed with the idea of starting a little legacy. I'm not sure if it will go anywhere. I have a lot of little whims that never take off, but you never know.

I just wrote a comment about how funny it was that people always say they want to eat babies, but them I realized that you were actually referring to the fact that he's eating the crayon. :P Oh well, either way, right?

He's definitely a cutie. Too bad his breeding options are more or less limited to the telescope (and he won't pass on his pretty grey eyes).

Oh! His eyebrows still have that sad, worried expression. Frances! You're a toddler! You have nothing to worry about yet!

He certainly is a cutie though.

I guess that your Frances in Peculiar won't be breeding at all, unless he's abducted, right? Mine has that option, or maybe a half alien partner too, but there will be no male pregnancies that don't involve aliens in some way. I'd love to see what his alien children would look like.

Someone posted pics of some alien spawn of Frances. They were the cutest little chinless things.

My Frances would need alien intervention to get in a family way. But with the Nocheat crossover, there could be other options for males who want the gestational experience (but Frances isn't really in the market for kids right now, period).

Yeah, I saw those. That was saunasims on the unbeautiful sims community. They were great, and looked a lot like Frances as a child.

What other options are there for mpreg in Nocheat?

So Frances and Daniel aren't thinking of starting a family anytime soon? I guess they're still pretty early into their relationship, really, so it's not a huge surprise.

Other options?

Well (and I've never really gone into the details because I never had to) thanks to Arturo DeTreville, rogue botanist, sims can undergo a kind of genetic merger with another sim and produce offspring (so same sex pairings can have biological children--this process uses cowplants). Arturo tested it on his own husband, Maurice (which resulted in twins Giorgio and Tito) AND was approached by his brother (Carmine) to help him gestate a child (since his wife, Experience, wouldn't--results, girl child Serafina). These genetic mergers don't require a pre-existing "womb" (so neither Maurice nor Carmine have ever been abducted/implanted by aliens).

Guiseppe DeTreville (Arturo's brother) has also contributed to the reproductive technology front. He's worked with both alien genetics (he conducted research similar to Glam's, trying to understand the whole alien thing) and sim reproductive technology. This resulted in the discovery of a very potent fertility drug.

On its own, Guiseppe's drug will not cause male pregnancy (unless the male already has a "womb" of some sort). BUT, when Guiseppe's work was combined with facets of Arturo's work, the clinical trials did have interesting results in the form of Nirvana Woodstock (a male, never abducted, no "womb", no alien genetics at all) becoming pregnant (and delivering a son, Buford Pusser). The results were even MORE interesting when, long after the trials were over, Nirvana got pregnant again (delivering twins, Marilee and Annette).

SO, it seems the fine scientists of Nocheat (and big pharmaceutical companies along with the government) are having great success in making the sim population that much more fertile.

Kind of makes you understand a little more why. . .maybe. . .outsiders would be interested in watching Nocheat. . .

(oh and Frances and Daniel aren't anywhere close to ready for children yet)

Ooooh, interesting. Thanks for the summary.

Yes, I see how certain people... or other creatures... would be interested in that. Very interesting.

(Yeah, I didn't think so. I want to see more of the Frances/Daniel relationship, but I guess I'll have to wait for Book 2.)

I LOVE Frances' permantent worried expression, it's way too cute! Recently I was searching through my storytelling folder and did actually find the decent pictures of when I had him as a teen, and I agree with you he was definitely the cutest at that stage! I'm sorry that you think you won't be able to finish it, but I really wish you could! Anything with Frances makes me happy, hehe.

Anyway, you don't HAVE to post every day if you don't want to. We're not forcing you to. What matters is if you actually feel like posting; I'd never want you to get sick and tired of it just because you feel forced!

He really was great as a teen.

I didn't mean that I wouldn't finish the short story at all, just not on time. I'll finish it up in the next couple of days.

It's more of the principle of it now. I made it a challenge for myself, but you're probably right... I'm starting to feel a little burnt out by it. Maybe I will say that half a month was more than enough.

The pic made me laugh at first because it's just SO Frances. But then you have to wonder what makes him such a worried little toddler. I imagine his mother rushing over to pick him up the moment he moves from the spot where she put him - for fear he'd break some expensive knickknack or make a mess - heaven forbid he soil a diaper! ;)

Don't you mean the nanny? Worthingtons leave the child rearing to the hired help.

Wait... maybe that's what Frances is worried about: sim nanny incompetence.

Good point about the scarf. I can imagine that he's a fragile little thing, and prone to catching colds. Or they're just afraid that their precious little son will get sick. He'd have to have been very pampered.
