Sims Talk: Bigfoot

This is for
madame_ugly, who wanted a closer look at Bigfoot.
My plan is to move Bigfoot in with the Kim family, who will help him to realize his true star potential. Since the futuristic thing isn't working for them anymore (for those who don't know, the Kim family used to star in a TV show that was set in the future, like the Jetsons). There seems to be potential for a story there. Who wouldn't want to see Bigfoot's rise to stardom, and his inevitable downfall?

The Kim family wasted no time in getting to know Bigfoot. They joined him in his favourite hobby: fishing.

Doesn't he look great? (I need to figure out how to make default replacement eyes for the creature sims. I could use some of Lyran's other eyes to replace them.)
Here's a better look:

He's related to Kaylynn Langerak, I see. That's her exact nose. Too bad Bigfoot can't breed with normal sims. I'm assuming that two Bigfeet wouldn't be able to breed with each other either (and it wouldn't achieve much, anyway, since they're all identical).
His name is Alon Bigfoot in my game. You get a different first name for every new Bigfoot.
He certainly makes up for the lack of body hair on male sims, doesn't he?

He doesn't need a censor blur either, even though he's buck naked. At least he attempts to hide his shame.
For those of you who consider Bigfoot old news (which is just about everyone, I'm sure), how do you get him to move in with you? Everyone in my party is friends with him, and they did the slap dance, but I don't see an option to ask to him to move in. What am I doing wrong here?
ETA: I went back and tried it again, and the option to move him into the family was there this time. Bigfoot is a member of the family now. He's a popularity sim. I was amused by the wants that I found when I made him selectable.

Bigfoot wants to party. This will work well for his show business career.

Date: 2008-05-12 03:19 am (UTC)I wasn't sure if you were supposed to ask him to move in when you're still on vacation or after the vacation.

Date: 2008-05-12 03:23 am (UTC)I'm not giving up. I WILL have Bigfoot in the Kim family.

Date: 2008-05-12 04:19 am (UTC)My main hood's bigfoot is the Brandon Lillard frog nose face. I needed him in my 'reshoot' neighborhood for some plotty scenes, so I sent my cloned sims off to that Three Lakes to find and bring home the Bigfoot. THAT Bigfoot turned out to have the stabby death nose face that belongs on the downtownie dude with the orange and blue bowling shirt.
Luckily, Bigfoot CAN use the facelift machine, so I was able to adjust his face to get the right one. Steve got have the right face for both of his parts in the story. :)

Date: 2008-05-12 09:42 am (UTC)Wow. You had to go through a lot of trouble for those scenes. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Date: 2008-05-12 05:00 am (UTC)Having Bigfoot in game is cool and all, but since you can't breed with him, and his hair is just clothing, he's kinda lost his shine for me.
If you want him thou, I hope you can get him! :)

Date: 2008-05-12 09:47 am (UTC)Bigfoot is a lot like the Servos. He behaves exactly like a sim, but you can't breed with him. You can't even interact romantically, which is a shame. He does have some unique features, though. He rises to the top of a career very quickly, without the friend requirement. He gives "bigfoot hugs". He never goes into hygiene distress. Cats hate him. I think that it's enough to make him interesting. Breeding is not everything. Either away, I'm going to play with him and see how it goes.
After that, maybe I'll finally get myself a vampire sim. (Yeah, I don't follow that particular trend.) I haven't had a servo yet, either, but there will be servos in my Strangetown story eventually.

Date: 2008-05-12 09:51 am (UTC)My Bigfoot has a LTW to be a city planner. That's my first Free Time LTW. I was excited when I saw it.

Date: 2008-05-12 02:08 pm (UTC)I'm having fun with the mini updates too, but it's mostly just reporting on the gameplay, and not the story. I'm a little stalled with that (and getting those new EPs is distracting me too), but I hope to get the next update out soon.
Oh, you should. I'm always interested in those merged hoods. I'm doing that sort of crossover in Strangetown, but it's all completely manual. I prefer it that way for the story, since a fully merged hood would be too integrated for my purposes.
I agree. This community is a lot of fun. :)

Date: 2008-05-12 11:27 am (UTC)Now, a few questions:
1. Bigfoot's only selectable once you move him in? (if he's always unselectable, that's crappy--makes him like a pet).
2. Does he come with certain skills/badges (like Servos do)?
3. Is he going to show up in Strangetown or are the Kims going to be a side project (seeing his wants to make friends with two Strangetown stars makes me snicker--you could do a dream sequence with Bigfoot)?
4. Show business career? SWEET, you have the uni careers hack in. I love that hack.
5. How did Bigfoot react to the Kim pets? I want to see a pissed off cat chasing Bigfoot (I've had pissed off cats chase sims and it's funny as hell).
I love how Bigfoots/feet can have different face templates. That makes them a little "better" *snicker* than Servos. My main beef with Servos is the "girls have a bow" thing. I really dislike that.
(loved the pic of him covering his furry behind. Don't be shy, boy. SHAKE THAT HEALTHY ASS!)

Date: 2008-05-12 01:54 pm (UTC)1. Bigfoot becomes selectable as soon as he agrees to move in, so you can play him on him own lot for a while, but once you go back to the campsite/hotel, he disappears until you arrive back home, where he'll be waiting. He's a fully selectable sim on the home lot.
2. Bigfoot comes with MAXED SKILLS and a golden badge in EVERY talent area. (!!!!) This is by far the coolest thing about him. I haven't seen a lot of the top level objects from those crafting stations, so I'm testing them all out now.
3. The Kims live in Sim City, with is Strangetown's "downtown", so they will be seen as side characters, and I guess that will include Alon Bigfoot too. I intend to use the Kims in the background with the Pleasant twins and other celebrities. I can do the story of Bigfoot as a stand alone thing, but it will still fit into the story world. (Can I really do another dream sequence? I feel like I overuse them, but basically every idea I've ever had is a dream sequence. *snicker*)
4. I'm not sure if I do have that hack in... does it unlock the uni careers for everyone? I have the LTW hack. I can always use the Lot Debugger to make it seem as if Bigfoot went to uni, and get him in show business (or that new entertainment career). Bigfoot actually wants to be a City Planner. *snicker* He's so good at getting promotions (he doesn't need the friend requirement), that I'm sure I can get him to the top of many careers in the game. For the story, he'll be a movie star.
5. I was hoping for an angry cat, but nothing so far. Once he moved in, he was already a little friendly with the cat, so maybe that helped. I'll keep you posted.
I really love that they have different face templates too. And I'm very pleased that mine has the crooked nose Kaylynn Langerak face. He looks great.
Female servos have a bow? That's sort of funny... for about 5 minutes, but then it's just too silly. They're robots. They don't need the bow.
Bigfoot has some nice booty. He's doing the Slap Dance in that pick. It's a great animation. Bon Voyage does have some great animations, like digging for shells. It would be useful for scenes where sims are crouching to look at something. I can see it coming in handy. (Do you want Bon Voyage yet?)
Here's a bonus Bigfoot pic for you:
*snort* Autonomously serving gelatin, while the cat watches with suspicion. I love how the gelatin matches the kitchen.

Date: 2008-05-12 02:13 pm (UTC)3. Your story will be a bit more "sim" with the addition of Bigfoot. *snicker* There could be Bigfoot sightings, carefully planned as promotional stunts by the Kims! (I think Bigfoot need to open his own petshop, just a random thought, but I think it would be fun)
4. Yes, that hack makes uni careers available as LTW's (even for sims that haven't graduated college). Dina Caliente is the first sim I've seen roll a uni want in my game. She wants to be an artist. OH, I forgot FT has an "entertainer" career. That could be his "celebrity" LTW, too. (*snort* another random funny Bigfoot thought, he could be a "crazy pet guy" hording animals)
Yeah, female servos hav a pink bow on their antenna, big girly eyelashes on their camera lense eye and "lipstick" lips. If the bow and makeup could be different colors, I think I'd like it a little more (though the bow still irks me). I only have one girl servo (Mrs. Doubtfire) in Nocheat (and only six servos total through all my hoods).
No, I don't want BV just yet. I'd need to see more animations before I'd consider it. It just seems like once you send a sim to each vacation site, that's it. I mean how many times can you do the "look at our vacation slides" thing? It's as boring in sims as it is in real life.
*snicker* I don't know that I'd feel comfortable with Bigfoot perparing meals. Imagine finding a Bigfoot hair in your gelatin and wondering exactly what part of his body it fell from? Bigfoot buttcrack hair? In my Jello? Bill Cosby would NOT approve.

Date: 2008-05-12 12:11 pm (UTC)He comes with ALL the badges and skill points. Totally maxed out!
And strange_tomato, you're right... breeding isn't everything. My Bigfoot loves to garden and fish. He's perfectly suited for it!
You have to watch him when he gets hungry though... he throws a tantrum (I forget what it's called... maybe Bigfoot Rampage or something like that??) Anyway, it's like the Servos running amok and the Bigfoot can do a lot of damage. I don't think he can actually kill sims though, unless he does a Bigfoot Scare on them and the unfortunate sim's needs are already low and they get scared to death! :-0
Most of the time he's a cuddly (if a bit stinky) addition to the family though!

Date: 2008-05-14 06:16 pm (UTC)I need to check out this Bigfoot rage and scare. I know that one of the Kims fears being scared by Bigfoot, so I was wondering what that was all about.

Date: 2008-05-12 01:53 pm (UTC)He definitely makes up for lack of hair on male sims. That (lack of hair) kind of bugs me. That's why I looked around and found a default replacement skin that adds some chest hair to my guys. It doesn't change the aliens, et. all but at least some of my guys can look 'normal'.
Party on, Bigfoot! LOL! And he wants to know Ripp? Oh, man, the things Ripp could teach this sweet, naive creature. He would, too.

Date: 2008-05-14 07:01 pm (UTC)Do you use a default skin with body hair? I have seen some of them around, but most of them seem a bit too hairy to me, and I dislike how they make all of the male sims equally hairy. Some guys just aren't. I wish it was customizable, like the facial hair and stubble (like having four levels of thickness).
I don't have much desire to have hairy alien sims, since they look better hairless to me, especially Johnny Smith. When I see facial hair on him in other people's posts, it just seems wrong to me. Especially a chin beard. Johnny has a huge chin, people! Chin beards are for guys without a chin (hey, Gunnar, you should look into that). Likewise, Ripp doesn't need a chin beard either. Maybe I just hate chin beards... okay, who am I kidding? I even hate the word "chin beard". I'm pretty opposed to designer facial hair in general. Okay, I'll shut up now... :P
I want to see Ripp partying with Bigfoot now too. *snicker* How funny would that be?

Date: 2008-05-14 07:06 pm (UTC)Or just a Bigfoot ass icon. That would be useful. It could say "kiss my big hairy ass", or something similar.
