Here's a little extra featuring some of the new (to me) Bon Voyage content: the hammock. This is just what was missing from the Ophelia's garden.

Note: If you haven't already guessed, this extra involves sex in a hammock.

Ophelia: What a beautiful day for gardening. I've been waiting for a chance to get these eggplants in all week.

Johnny: Sure would be a whole lot easier with three sets of hands, Ripp.

Ripp: Hey, I'm testing the new hammock. Someone has to make sure it's safe.

Ophelia: I think you've tested it enough for one day.

Ripp: *plays on hammock* Wheeeeee!

Johnny: If you don't soon start helping, you're going to get your ass kicked.

Ripp: You wouldn't do that. Not to me. Empty threats, my friend.

Johnny: Oh, yeah? You really want to test your theory?

Ripp: Okay, okay.

Ophelia: It works better when you actually get something to dig with, Ripp.

Ripp: Yeah, I'm working on it. *looks around in confusion, then pulls something out of his back pocket and gets to work*

Lucy Burb: Hi Johnny!

Johnny: Oh, hi, Lucy! What are you doing here?

Lucy: Just walking by, so I thought I stop to see if you needed any help.

Ophelia: Do you really like to garden in heels like that?

Lucy: Hmmm. Maybe you're right.

Ripp: *sneaks back to hammock*

Ripp: Hey now... *enjoys the view*

Cheerleader: Oh, hey there. That looks comfy.

Ripp: MmmmHmmm...

Cheerleader: Hey, I know you...

Ripp: But soft! What light through yonder window breaks?

Cheerleader: Say what?

Ripp: It's from a play.

Cheerleader: Really? Which one?

Ripp: I don't know... something where everyone dies at the end, I think.

Cheerleader: Wow, cool. *thinking* Theatre guys are hot because they're all crazy.

Ripp: Why don't you... hop aboard the Ripp Express?

Cheerleader: *thinking* I hope that's not a reference to his staying power...

Ripp: There's a seat available right here. *gestures to face*

Cheerleader: Okay. *giggles*

Both: WoooooooooHOOOOOOOO!

(Looks a little dangerous to me. Like some kind of scary cocoon that's trying to eat them.)

Ripp: Ahhh. I'm just going to lie here for a while.

Cheerleader: I think I sprained my wrist.

Ripp: Well, I think I sprained my tongue, so we're even.

(They didn't even take off their clothes. *snort* Ripp didn't even move. I can just imagine him reaching down to zip up afterwards, and that's it. Hammock sex is lazy sex.)

Ripp: Mmmm. The brilliant glow of a platinum aspiration.

Cheerleader: Wow. That's a lot of points.

Ripp: Yup. The big 2-0. Number 20.

Cheerleader: I'm your 20th lover?!

Ripp: Yup.

Cheerleader: Like 10 lovers, using that trick where public woohoo counts as sex with a 2nd person?

Ripp: They have a trick like that?

Cheerleader: Wow. I mean, I knew you were a slut and all... but that's just... Wow. *leaves*

Ripp: *thinking* So hammock woohoo turned out to be pretty fucking sweet. I can just lie here and relax, and then send out a request to any sim on the lot to come over an hop on. Brilliant. What should I test next? Tent woohoo? Sauna woohoo? Oh, that one sounds GREAT. Johnny and Phi would probably like to go to a sauna... or some hot springs... I wish I had enough money to take them on vacation...

Ripp: *plays on hammock* Wheeeeee! I love this hammock.

So, Ripp seems to be a big winner when it comes to the new EPs. An armload of new woohoo options, hammocks to laze about and play on, and lots of new romantic advantages, including the ability to make Ophelia (and nearly everyone else) shoot hearts 24/7. So far, Phi is still his only triple bolt match.

Ripp: I can't help it. I'm irresistible.

Johnny: You can't expect me to believe that, Ripp.

Ripp: Oh yeah? Just look behind you...

The conflicting dual romance/family aspiration hasn't seemed to mess with him all that much yet. He had a couple of "fall in love with someone" wants, but he used to get those anyway (he wanted to fall in love with Jaxy, for example). After he achieved the woohoo with 20 sims (which is not even his LTW - he just did it for fun), he rolled a couple of romance-worthy new power wants: woohoo with 5 service sims (the cheerleader is a "service" sim *snicker*), and woohoo in public with 3 sims. So, he's not exactly settling down and getting married yet. (If he ever does, what am I going to do with all of his old flames? Oh well... most are in college, so it shouldn't be an issue. He'll never see them.)

I may as well confess that I used the College Adjuster to add an extra semester for these three (or just force them to start the last one over again, to be more accurate). I play them so much that they have been close to graduation for quite a while now, and I wanted to play around with my new EPs.

I do realize that I'm probably the only simmer to ever use the adjuster to extend college instead of shorten it. That's just the sort of player I am (most of the time - sometimes I do rush through a little faster if there is no potential story involved). I also don't usually send teens to college until the very last second, and I have been known to turn aging off so I can let my sims be toddlers for a while longer. With the leisurely pace at which this story advances, none of this should really come as a surprise.

I just love them all so much. It's hard to see your little simmies growing up and old in the blink of an eye.

*muses* Have I told you before how much I look forwards to your stories? Even the little tidbits like this are so high quality that I prefer them to most other folk's full out stories. It's so that between you and kangaroop I only very idly go searching for more stuff to read, because I don't really *need* more. It's just like having two excellent authors that still write quickly enough that their series update almost faster than you can read. Why go elsewhere, there'll be a new book soon! ;) That kind of thing.
You are now also to my mind the main source for Strangetown info. Mainly because the stuff you do in regards to the characters just make sense and fits my own opinion. Setting up my Prosperity Hood just now, your blog was literally the first thing I went to because I knew you'd have thoughts on secondary aspirations for the Grunt boys. :D
Finally, putting aside the mad cackling I did over Ripp+Hammock, the shots of him at night through the tree canopy are some of the prettiest I've seen. Someone should make the first one, the one where he's got his eyes closed and a smile on his face into an icon. So preeettyyyy. *.*

Thank you. :) That's very nice of you to say.

Are you making a Strangetown Prosperity hood? That sounds interesting. And about the secondary aspiration thing... I gave those things WAY too much thought. For the "main" characters, I wanted to make sure I picked something that suited the characters as I have developed them. I'm sure that not everyone would agree with my choices, but they work for me.

Thank you. Maybe I'll try to make an icon out of that one. Thanks for the idea. I really like the way the sim on the hammock looks when they are relaxed like that. They seem so serene.

Call it a Maxis Prosperity hood. :D I've got Bella Goth (my version, face is literally halfway between the Pleasantview and the Strangetown/CAS Face #1 ones), I've got Worthington, I've got the Grunt brothers, I've got Sarah Love, Claire Charming (original was in TS1's Sims Unleashed) and I remade the family shown in that early early trailer/producer walkthrough for TS2, the Baxters. :D Though I made it so Don Baxter is Don Lothario but with different hair and beard, and his wife is named Virginia instead of Sarah.
Eee, I think you should! Of course. It would be up for anyone else to nab, yes/no? :D

Your Prosperity hood sounds great. I guess that's why you have children from Frances and Stella, like that great shot that you posted on unbeautiful sims. Will you be posting about your challenge?

I made a quick icon out of it, just to give it a shot. Do you think it's too dark? I tried to lighten it up, but those night shots can be tricky. You can certainly use the icon, if you want to. :)

You got it in one, and thank you. :D I'm certainly going to try, I've already got pictures from the Goth's first three days (that's how long I plan to play each family per turn) and am getting into the Worthingtons now.
I do think the Prosperity Challenge is my favorite one to follow as a reader, so I'm hopeful I'll also enjoy it as a writer. Here're the three that are my main inspiration in that regard: http://itlandm-sims-mp.livejournal.com/profile

And gleeeeeee, icon! That's so snagged. Thank you thank you! :D I think it's lightened just enough. Mmmm peaceful Ripp.

I like the Prosperity challenge too, and it lends itself to storytelling much better than a legacy, in my opinion. I got stalled out on my own attempt at one, but I may resurrect it at some point.
