Discussion: TS4 Conversation Post

Inspired by the disjointed conversation of Tumblr (and worry about annoying people with lost of text posts while attempting to have one, and so on...), I'd like to try to have a conversation here. What are you excited for in TS4 from what we've seen so far? The return of rotational gameplay? The breastfeeding option? The awesome cat vest?! Are you worried about the sim count and lot limit? Do you love or hate the style? Or are you over it all already? Let's hear it! :)
I'm not around as often as I used to be, so please talk amongst yourselves here as much as you like! I do get windows of time to participate (usually with a sleeping, teething baby worn on me in a carrier, or when my toddler wants to watch "the YouTubes"), so I will jump in whenever I can.
Also, hi! It's been a while. :) I miss this.

Date: 2014-06-27 09:16 pm (UTC)I must say, all in all, I am rather excited for TS4. I mean, we don't know a lot about the actual gameplay, but I think we can all assume we know the majority of things that will be available (interactions, families, careers etc) and that is all we're going to get from a base game - it is just a base after all! I saw a message that said they are working on building a good foundation to add in new features, so hopefully we will see that work out as time progresses.
I am really excited to get hold of the new Build/Buy mode and CAS, they just look like an improvement on what we've had so far (I mean, moving a whole house in one go - why did it take them until the 4th version?!)
As for the latest toddler controversy, I can't say I'm affected by it too much. Whilst I like rotational and generational game-play, I have always hated toddlers just the tiniest amount and normally cannot wait until they're being scooped up and made to blow out their birthday candles. Not having that age in the game will just make me feel less guilty about skipping it like I normally do!
I can understand why lots of people aren't happy, but I imagine if they do add toddlers to the game at a later point, it will come in a free patch anyway (even if there is a relevant toddler/generational EP, which people have been asking for in every version of the Sims so maybe overall it'll be a good thing.) much like ocean swimming and basements and spiral staircases in TS3 - so I don't think it's *all about da moniez*. As for pools, I imagine it will be same deal, but again, I hardly use pools so I probably won't miss them too much!
As for the DLC argument that I keep seeing; they're a business. They make it - if you like it, buy it. You're not really entitled to it for free just because you own the base game! If you don't want to part with your cash, go without or just find some other way to get it... ;)
Overall, I'm just trying to not be negative (unlike seemingly everyone over at MTS!) I know some stuff will be missing, I know some stuff will be new. If I enjoy playing the game in September then I'll be happy that I'd paid for it.
