Prompt: Anything about Mortimer and Bella, at
leskuh's request
Characters: Mortimer and Bella
Wordcount: didn't count

Warnings: none
Leskuh requested any and all creations featuring this most iconic of sims couples. Here I offer a humble drabble-ish piece of writing, set in my story universe (though I feel it could apply to most Mortimer and Bellas, at least the way I see them). I hope you like it, Alyssa! No worries about the drawing. You've drawn me more than my share of wonderful things over the years. <3
In the end, they were together again.
He was an old man. It was his time. He knew this, and he didn't want to fight Death for longer than he was granted. He could have lived forever, maybe, if his research was indeed correct, but as the years had gone by he trusted this less and less. Only fools meddled with Death, bargaining for more time. It was possible for him to do it, he knew, but he no longer thought it was wise.
Only fools meddled with death, and Mortimer Goth was no fool.
It was his time to die. He'd been barely conscious for weeks now, coming in and out of the last of his existence. And this morning, he'd floated above the room, observing the visitors below. She'd loved him, he was sure, and he'd returned that love, but she was no Bella.
There was nobody else like Bella.
And now, even the room was gone. He sat in darkness, alone. Time no longer mattered. It had been mere moments and it had been an eternity, both.
Then she arrived.
Every Bella he had ever loved existed in that woman. As she approached him, she was a beautiful young girl, the elegant young woman, the loving mother, the comforting pressence in every moment of his life, all in one person, and every life they had lived, ever would live, or could possibly live were all rolled up in that moment.
She stood before him, and he asked, "Is this the end? Of it all? Is it over?"
She smiled, and reached out for his hand. "No, my love. It's just begun."
And he took her hand, and they were off. To begin again, to start anew. Over and over, as many times as they could possibly exist. That was how they were meant to be. They were together.
They always would be.

Date: 2012-01-25 11:55 pm (UTC)This is so wonderful! I love that it's a happy ending and they're together forever and the bit about how all of the Bellas come together into one and the nod to the idea that they have existed in so many different incarnations. Loooove.
I've actually been thinking of doing a story about Mortimer on his death bed too! Or... actually. It's going to involve Dina killing him. Haha. Rude Dina. And Death is so smug about it because of how Mortimer had been dodging him forever and fucking things over with that elixir.
Thank you so much for this! I love it to death. I'm still totally going to sketch you something cute. <33333

Date: 2012-01-29 01:10 am (UTC)I think these two really earn their happy ending with all they go through. I do love a good happy ending. Nearly as much as I love putting characters through the wringer before they get there! :P
I love the idea that ALL the premade sims live these multiple lives, but I think it especially applies to these two. They define that idea for me. They're in all the games, so they have three whole universes worth of being played by millions of different unseen hands. They have infinite stories.
I love your deathbed story idea. A smug Death would be so great. I'm still playing around with my own idea of Grimmy's personality. I like the idea of him being very strict about rules and following his function to the letter, but he does have a lot of personality with his romance with Olive and sending a son to live a life and all that. I imagine he does have a bit of a playful side, to the downfall of anyone who wants to play "games" with him. As Mortimer comes to realize, this is not ever a very good idea.
And LOL at Evil!Dina. She does make a pretty great villain.
Well, if you insist on drawing me something, well I'm not about to argue. :) I love your work.
