Episode One: Fried Green Tomatoes | Episode Two: (Tomato) Worms Eat My Garbage | Episode Three: Seedlings | Episode Four: Heirloom Families

In our last episode, The Tomato Family moved in to their big shiny new house on the hill, so now they can both literally and figuratively look down on the other residents of Elsewhere. And they will. Boy, will they ever.

That very same night, Cherry Tomato resumed her mission to become a werewolf.

She figured that annoying the crap out of Trent Traveller until he bit her was still a viable option for her transformation.

She was wrong, but she gets an E for effort.

Trent: Why are you Tomatoes always giving me crap?! I don't deserve this!

But Trent, it's just so easy!

Cherry's actually a pretty nice sim, in her own special way, so she immediately apologized to Trent.

And then proceeded to attack him. Like I said, it's a very unique sort of niceness.

Oh, careful! Don't step on that... umm, platter of festering lobsters. (Makes note: hire a maid.)

Pretty much everyone in this family enjoys a good fight. They're all a bunch of jerks, pretty much.

Cherry: *sniff, sniff* Is that the foul stench of defeat or do I have a bit of a not so fresh feeling down there? Smells a little like rotten seafood.

Umm, again... *waves in the direction of the lobsters*

Cherry didn't turn into a werewolf, but perhaps it was because she started the fight? I thought so, at this point.

So Cherry goaded Trent into a rematch.

But again, no transformation.

After another crippling defeat for Cherry (those werewolves don't mess around), Trent finally moved on.

And Cherry moved on to a sure bet, cultivating a friendship with the Leader of the Pack.

Between date rewards and generous neighbours, the free stuff is nearly endless! This family gets richer by the day, but I guess that's to be expected in any legacy family.

Pepper: BAAAAARRRRRFFFFF!

Very elegant.

Looks like she's pregnant with the little Humble-ling. *rubs hands together in anticipation*

Strange got bored with being a nice witch, so she switched over to the dark side for a while. It's a long life, so why not experiment, right?

One of the trees caught fire during a storm and calling the fire department provided me with more proof that Elsewhere is overrun with aliens. This firefighter even has those red eyes, too. What's up with this green skin/red eyes combo? It's everywhere!

Never ask a plantsim to potty train a toddler. They use the poo for fertilizer! By stuffing the child into their bodies! D:

Greene's new LTW was to have six grandchildren, and he already has three. I wonder if he'll live to see this one fulfilled. Pepper's a family sim, so he has a pretty good chance. The jury's still out on whether Aubergine will have children at all. She's not exactly interested in anyone at the moment. Cherry's not really interested either.

Cherry was on a date with some AL social group townie when ACR took over and she wipped out her ~sexy~ lingerie. I love this Valentines set. It never fails to give me a chuckle when sims randomly wear them.

Time for Tiny Tim to age up!

Oh yeah. I just knew those features would be growing into his face, not the other way around! :P

He seems so strange without the eyes.

I had some sort of system to randomly determine whether a sim would be a grilled cheese sim (since this random transition to teen generator that I use doesn't include it), and Tiny Tim became the first (and possibly last) Grilled Cheese sim in this legacy. My beef with Grilled Cheese sims is how boring they are. Even with a secondary (Tiny Tim's is Knowledge), they hardly roll any wants for anything but grilled cheese.

ACR has declared that he's bisexual, but he's really only attracted to grilled cheese.

Cherry fell in love with Craig Ray, the townie she was dating. It's not really that relevant, since she doesn't roll any wants to commit to him at all and basically loses interest in him after this. What's up with this family? They're all perfectly content being single. At least this generation has one Family sim in it.

Tiny Tim: Grilled Cheese, would you like to go steady with me?

See? SEE?! See what I have to work with here, people?

Krim ages up into his BIG features. I still think he's adorable enough to eat.

Tiny Tim wanted to go to college right away, so I let him. The house was getting crowded and Pepper was just about ready to pop out yet another Tomato. (Ugh. Bad mental picture.)

Cal aged up, too. I don't think he's as ZOMG!Adorable! as Krim at this age, but I do quite like his looks, and I think he ages into them a little better than Krim does. It's a man's face.

The blessed moment finally arrived! Humble baby is here! :D

It's a girl, with Mr. Humble's eye colour. They name her Humblelina, and she is wonderful.

Cherry fulfilled her LTW of having 20 Best Friends and I took this amazing photograph of it. I can take your wedding photos, for a very reasonable fee.

Humblelina aged to toddler! She's just... *wipes away tear of joy* perfect.

Humble's grey eyes on Pepper's ginormous eye shape, Humble's eyebrows, and maybe his very weak chin? And that hair! Obviously, this child is a miracle.

She will be favoured.

She also has a pretty intense personality, as you can see.

The twins are very similar. Krim's sloppier and very active, and Cal's super lazy, but they're otherwise much the same. They're both extremely nice, which is, well, nice to see in this family for a change.

Tiny Tim arrived at college! His transtion outfit wasn't even that bad. It's not stylish, but nothing you wouldn't see if you went out for a drink at your local meat market.

And now, a little recap of Gen. Four's parentage for those who haven't been keeping notes (aka everyone):

Tiny Tim probably suspects that the mailman is actually his father, rather than Ginger, and he'd be right! Ding ding ding! He also has wonderful recessive genes (red hair and crazy bright green/blue eye), but will he ever breed for us to see them? He has a lot of Grilled Cheese to eat first.

Krim and Cal are sons of a bitch witch. Their father has probably dated half the Tomato family by now, but they don't have to ever find out about that now, do they?

Humbelina (who you will note was briefly named Humbelinda, because I considered calling her Linda for short, missing out on a reference to Thumbelina, and then changed my mind) is the child of a preacher man... for Sims 3. The very-persistent Mr. Humble. Sometimes she whispers "Sims 3" in her sleep, just lying there in the crib. It's weird.

Tiny Tim got right to work on that LTW, much to the dismay of the alien coach. (Noticing a green pattern here? I wasn't kidding about all those alien NPCs.)

To be fair to the coach, Tiny Tim is, in fact, anything but tiny. He could use the workout.  But it ain't gonna happen. He has lots and lots of gooey grilled cheese to eat first.

Tiny Tim is the first sim born to this family that doesn't recognize Strange as a relative and he also has a raging triple bolt-on for her. Of course. Why am I not surprised? These Tomatoes are a real handful, and most of them need copious amounts of therapy. Tiny Tim is no exception.

It's so rare to find sims that are willing to talk about grilled cheese, so Tiny Tim was really pleased to finally find someone that'd give him the time of day. I think Tiffany's just really nice, maybe. Or has cooking as a hobby, maybe?

Another Tomato achieves their LTW in college! Oh YEAH! *hip trust* I'm legacying the shit out of this legacy.

You'd think Heather Huffington was too good to dig through someone's garbage. Turns out you'd be wrong. :P

Defying all expectations, Tiny Tim actually had his first kiss! And with that foreign exchange femme fatale, Klara
Vonderstein, no less. Well done, TT!

He graduated, donning a Strange-repelling cap before heading home (it's her turn off) to reduce the likelyhood of great-grandma incest. He also wore something really sporty to get the coach off his case. Don't worry, it's just a ruse. He'll never lose weight.

Back to the Tomato household!

Strange: What's up, Ashley? Are you trying to fart?

Ashley: No, wait. Check this out...

Ashley: Transition! Cool, huh? I'm an adult now.

Strange: That's funny, you don't look any different.

Strange invited Ashley over because she's ready to move forward with this whole marriage thing.

Before Ashley knew what's happening, she started slipping the ring on his finger.

Ashley: What?! Are you crazy? You're an evil witch! I-I-I-I'm a good witch!

Strange: But even evil witches need love.

Ashley: I'm sorry. This will never work out! I'm outta here.

Don't worry. She'll get over it. Eventually.

Ginger wanted to have a baby, so I sent her downtown to find a sperm donor. But don't be fooled by the traditional legacy parlance! Ginger really only wants the sperm in this case.

In a scene straight from a bad dream, she forgot her pants at home. And also her figure. To call those cankles would be a compliment.

Ginger: Don't even open your mouth.

I think even Peter's shocked into silence.

That's such a shapeless ass. It fills me with dismay! D: Poor Ginger.

Of the available males on the lot (who were all there when she arrived, so equally "first"), Herb Oldie was the most sensible, and also hot for Ginger. He seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately for Herb, only his sperm will be getting any action here.

Ginger kept working hard throughout her pregnancy, and for some reason had a different hairstyle. I have no idea why. I don't dare question a pregnant woman's choices.

Here's a shot of the evolving Tomato home lot. I've added some landscaping interest and a greenhouse. My plantsims provide plenty of free labour for veggie growing.

Just what a rich family needs: more discounts and tax cuts.

Ginger's multitalented. She even makes Servos while very pregnant, and in her underwear, no less!

I'll prbably wait for the perfect personality to activate the Servo. Humbelina's is good (Neat and Active), so maybe her. We'll see...

Greene was in the Architecture career at this point, but I think I switch him to Education after this. I was aiming to get the bookcase. I love the bookcase.

Goodwin is born!

It's a touching scene, until I pull the camera back...

Then it becomes the typical Tomato stew of inappropriateness.

I decided to give Ginger's LTW to own five top level businesses the old college try. I sent her to the bakery and flower shop, or whatever it was called.

Pepper and Aubergine went along to help her out. Pepper has the baking skills and Aubergine has charisma to spare.

The reviewer showed up pretty early on in her attempt to get the business up and running.

Oh come on! A bad review? That's the first time I've even seen one.

Yeah, well I give the reviewer's shorts a bad review. So there.

Poor Ginger's sanity suffered a terirble blow. Might be time to regroup and head them back home.

Her name is Snow Flower. How perfect.

After her encounter with the Bad Review, Ginger decided to become an evil witch. Possibly for revenge.

Strange's wand didn't work the first time arround. I just love her pissed off look.

Success!

Cherry also wanted to become a witch. She's such a joiner.

Cherry: WOW! Look at me transform! *magic sparkles everywhere*

Strange: YAWN. Been there, done that.

Cherry: It's Maaaagiiiic! *thunk* Oww! My face! I broke my face on this lamp!

Strange: Still not interested.

Money, we are swimming in it. We light the fireplace with simoleon dollar bills. We use it as toilet paper. (Ouch! Sounds rough.)

I love how Aubergine's speech was political, since that's Pepper's chosen career path. I think they were in cahoots. It's all part of Pepper's plan to be the Mayor of Elsewhere.

Awww. Look at that chinless profle.

Strange became obsessed with this Grilled Cheese painting to the point of me having to eventually download that hack that removes the autonomous view painting function. She was driving me crazy.

It made her sad. Perhaps she was lamenting over her hot Grilled Cheese great-grandson, that she will never have. Even an evil witch has to have some boundaries in her life, right? She begins to question the purpose of being evil if you can't get everything you want, the nature of evil, the meaning of life, and so on.

Then decides to cheer herself up by turning Cherry into a vampire. Some things never seem to change around here.

Cherry makes friends the same way Strange does! :P

Humbelina's transition day arrived and she had a glitchy good time!

Strange, the lack of room to navigate the kitchen seems to be the least of our worries right now.

The ever-popular and creepy child-toddler glitch! Oh Humbelina...

Truly a very special child.

But let's take a closer look at her face...

Yup. Still awesome.

She's like Pepper with over-tweezed eyebrows, (HUGE) regular sim eyes, and no chin. What's not to like?

Goodwin also aged up. He's cute, but I'm a little disappointed that I don't see more of Ginger in him. He's a little like a tiny Herb Goodie clone. I think Herb's based off the Remminton Harris face template, don't you?

Cherry began to question whether the vampire life was the one for her, and decided to make herself some Vamprocillin-D.

She transformed, glad to no longer be a vampire.

Then she immediately decided she wants to become a vampire again.

*sighs*

And then be cured of it again.

Make. Up. Your. Mind.

This seems to be the start of her mental decline. More on that a bit later.

Grandpa Greene's Family side was as strong as ever.

Teacher, not only did a dog eat my homework, but it was a wolf! A werewolf, actually! He had glowing yellow eyes and if he bites you you turn into a werewolf and he ATE MY HOMEWORK! I'm not lying! Why don't you believe me?! WHY?!

The downside of living in the Tomato family is that the Big Bad Wolf WILL eat your homework. No maybes about it.

Tiny Tim wanted to become a vampire and Strange took him into her passionate vampiric embrace. The Unresolved Sexual Tension is just through the roof with these two. So far, they've behaved, but for how long?

That can't be a good thing, right? o_O

And here we have that further proof of Cherry's deteriorating mental health. Seems like I may need to call in the therapist for a little check up. This can't be good. (And I hope it's not a sign that my game is equally ill.)

Wait, no! Do not go to your job during the daytime! Foolish vampire!

Tiny Tim made it home, but just barely.

Greene's such a family sim. It's adorable.

The twins became teens. Rugged, manly teens. Hells yeah!

Cherry finally got her wish and became a werewolf.

Ginger wanted to join the weirdo club, too, so she did. she was the only one to get the stylish vampire hair. It goes nicely with the evil witch outfit.

(Not So) Tiny Tim likes nothing better than to practice his ballet moves on a cold, frosty Winter morning. This was the workout gear he transitioned into.

Evil witch Strange got another makeover. I really love the scarf.

I also started using that hack to remove the witch skins, with pleasing results. No more miss-matching faces to bodies!

There's pregnant, really pregnant, and then there's bigger than the universe pregnant. Guess which one Pepper is.

I realize that I forgot to grab a pic of the sperm donor for this pregnancy, so it'll have to be a secret. ;) All I'll say is the genetics are interesting.

Strange used her connections to secure an increase in her salary. Pretty sweet. It's all about who you know in Elsewhere, as we've seen time and again.

The sim in the icon is Mariam by[livejournal.com profile] budgie_budgie. One of my favourites.

The family's so big now that Cherry didn't even make the cut for the loading screen photo.

Aubergine wanted to buy a vacation home, so I thought I'd let the Tomatoes spend some of their well(?) earned simoleons. I figure they'll eventually purchase a whole collection of vacation homes, but I started with a property in Three Lakes for the Bigfoot sighting potential.

It's vacation time for the Tomato family! :D

Greene wore his professor duds on vacation. Yeah, he's cool.

Please note the vampire-werewolf-plantsim-witch action in Cherry back there. (Or whatever she is now - who can keep track?) She's nearly as bad as Strange at this point.

Also note that none of the vampires were allowed to go on vacation. Perhaps they'll reconsider the vampiric lifestyle after this. I hope so, because vampires are fairly annoying to play, truth be told. I tried it, and I'm glad I did, but I'm kinda over it now.

Humblelina had to get glasses, so she picked a cool red pair. (Not really, but I sort of wish some sims had to wear them out of necessity. It'd be a cool feature to have in the game. At least I think so. It could be a genetic thing.)

They arrived at Three Lakes, and obviously "they have arrived!" This place is NICE. Lots of land, their own pond to fish from, and a very large cabin. The Tomatoes do things in style.

The twins bond and became besties over their shared manual labour. Everyone had to do their share until they found the map to the hidden burrow.

Yes, that even includes those heavy with child, Pepper, so don't even think about weasling out of it.

Humbelina flourished in Three Lakes, becoming a champion angler in no time at all (and I guess the fact that it was Fall helped greatly). Just look at that fish! It's almost bigger than her.

Humbelina was also the first to roll the want to meet bigfoot. Truly she is special.

But not nearly as special as our Bigfoot! *wipes joyful tears*

Meet Damon Bigfoot. He has an adorable anime-esque face template, with big eyes and an upturned nose, but he compensates for that with a massive handlebar moustache. He wouldn't want the other Bigfoots to question his masculinity. Bigfoots have to be totally butch. It's what they do.

You know I instantly knew that I had to have him as part of the family.

I tried to click on Bigfoot, but missed, resulting in this amusing Bigfoot/sim hybrid. A portent of the future, perhaps? I do have the bigfoot romance mod, so one can only hope. XD

Pepper steps up to the task of winning him over.

But Humbelina is the family member who really fell hard for Bigfoot, showing off for him and generally being pumped to know him.

Sadly, children can't ask Bigfott to join the family. Good to know for future reference.

Oh, Greene. *shakes head* You really were meant to be a professor, weren't you? Mr. No Fun completely ignored the slap dance party.

Since Humbelina wasn't able to, Pepper finally worked up a relationship with Damon and asked him to join the Tomato family.

He brought his entire life savings with him, but Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) don't seem to know a whole lot about financial planning.

Would you go on a tour with this tour guide, I ask you? Would you?

Further proof that Greene is becoming a big ol' stick in the mud in his old age. He wore a wet suit to get in the hot springs!

Umm, don't you think he's a little young for you, grizzled old mountaineer dude?

I've noticed that this vacation local is always gay in my game (he was really into Ripp, too). Is it the same for anyone else? I wonder if it's just an ACR sexuality assignment coincidence or an example of EAxis slipping in a little homosexual content on the sly. It wouldn't be the first time.

Also, that guy is totally a bear.

The vacation was over before anyone knew it, but they got what they came for: Bigfoot! :D No family circus is complete without one.

And with that, they return to "normal" life.

See you next time!

OMG I laughed so hard!! Your comments are so funny and my top 2 are:

"What's up, Ashley? Are you trying to fart?" and
"It's Maaaagiiiic! *thunk* Oww! My face! I broke my face on this lamp."

It 2.00 am here, I just got home from work so THANK YOU for the fun :)

Thanks for reading! ^_^

Thanks for reading and for the great feedback. I'm always happy to hear that you enjoyed it! If you laughed, then I did my job.

Thanks! ^_^ And thank you so much for following their crazy antics.

I have to admit that I start to lose my patience after Pepper's baby boom, so I start picking an official "heir" and move the rest out in the next generation, but I'm glad I managed to stick it out for this long. It really added to the crazy, I think.

That was one great thing about having a female same sex couple reproducing for this generation. My random system for selecting sperm donors has provided a lot of genetic variety. I also love how they all have their own personalities. With so many sims, they're left to their own devices a lot, and you really get to see how their personalities vary and lead them to different behaviours. It's a blast.

I'm partial to Humbelina, too, but I don't think I've been shy about saying so. :P Not to say that the other kids aren't great. They all provide me with pretty great antics and even some drama down the road... *dun dun DUN*

I should give the vampires another chance at some point, I suppose. I end up curing everyone at some point, just because I had too many of them for it to be reasonable to play. If I get another Knowledge sim in the house, maybe I'll let them try it out, if they're into it.

Thanks for reading and commenting! ^_^

Fantastic update! :D Many laughs, starting with Cherry's not-so-fresh feeling, and her fertilizer poo. Hey Cherry, ever think the two might be related?

Tiny Tim has excellent features! I like that sort of lumpiness, where it's not as extreme as with some sims, but still rather like a badly stirred pot of oatmeal. Krim and Cal are totally cute. I think you're right about Cal aging into his features a bit better.

But Humblelina wins the prize. She's awesome! Afro-puff hair and weak chin and all. Well done Pepper! I love sims who are both Playful and Grumpy, too. Maybe I'm just immature, but I love autonomous hand-buzzing and that personality combo seems to bring it out.

Strange: But even evil witches need love.

Her face! D'awww. Poor Strange!

Ginger's pantsless downtown trip... D: I've had that dream. Though at least mine never had Peter Ottomas. Speaking of Ginger, I've had sims change hair while pregnant, too (though I got the other dreads). I think it's because some custom hairs aren't enabled for pregnancy.

It's Maaaagiiiic! *thunk* Oww! My face! I broke my face on this lamp!

ROFL!

Humblelina's toddler/child glitch is somehow made more creepy by the bunny slippers, though I'm not sure why.

Is that the Leader of the Pack that Cherry wants to turn vampire? xD

Your Bigfoot is truly something special! Those eyes! That 'stache! :D Are you still using the Zazazu (sp?) face templates? I tried them for awhile, but eventually took them back out.

Thanks for the laughs! :D

I've gotta thank [livejournal.com profile] pixelcurious for linking this legacy to me. Your Sims are just great looking and I am extremely picky about my Sims 2 Sims. I like the Maxis-matchers and near Maxis-like. So cute!

I laughed so hard through all 5 updates. Just great fun and the little comments like the hand shot for 'I do wedding pictures'.

I especially got a kick out of Cherry's indecisive Vampirism bi-polar disorder! Seriously! What the heck? HAHAAHAH!

I love playing with the Bigfeet in my households. They just add so much fun in it. Yours is just immense win with that adorable little face and mustache! Thanks to you I put that mod in my game and am loving all the mustaches all over!
