Is there anything nicer than getting one of those surprise comments on the first chapter of your long-running story (that hasn't updated in dog's ages), saying the poster just discovered it and is enjoying it?

Oh I love that. Or when they're a couple of chapters in and tell you they're working through it and they're on the edge of their seats and can't wait to finish.
