It's time, folks! Get out there and vote in the Maxis Taste Ship Match! :D The polls will be open for about a week, so there's plenty of time to vote for your favourites. (Oh, and be sure to read the rules to avoid being disqualified, a'right?)

Funny story... the very last question of this round is to choose the best match for Ophelia: Johnny or Ripp. Oh, if only it were so easy, poll! XD I've been working on that question for three years now. (Full disclosure: I sat that one out.)

lol, just to clarify, the part of disqualifying it would be only in a extreme case (There were some people last time who voted for over 20 ships!! O_0), and only because if the results are too tight one vote more or less can make a big difference.

(and btw, Ophelia .. was on purpose!! :P I'm pretty curious to know, if we have to choose just one, who would it be! XD)

Yeah, it's not that I think you're super strict about the rules, but there were limits to how many votes and things, so I know it'll be annoying and complicated for you if people get too, shall we say... creative. :P Best to encourage everyone to follow the rules.

Oh, very clever! Trying to get me to reveal my hand, are we? Well, not so fast! XD (Though, I suppose I lean a little toward Ripp/Ophelia in some ways. Not enough to vote on it. Maybe against another ship, though. We'll see.)

I expect the result of popular vote will be Johnny, for sure. It's canon, afterall.

(I'm still hesitant about it, though, but it'll depend on how the polls are looking by next week.)

Johnny vs Ripp for Ophelia was really hard for me too. I like Ripp/Ophelia especially as adults, but in general I see Ripp as more free-spirited and unattached, while Johnny and Ophelia would want to settle together instead.

Heheh. Nah, I'm fine if you don't go head to head, but I think it might be fun that way, too.

Ripp's romance tendencies would be a reasonable factor in that decision, but I still see him fighting for the relationship. My shipping doesn't always settle on perfectly stable relationships. I tend to prefer things with at least some small amount of inner conflict.

I voted for Ripp, but I like Johnny with Ophelia too--just not quite as much :P

It was nice to see such a variety of ships. I saw several that never would have even occurred to me. John Burb and Brandi Broke for example, or Vidcund Curious and Erin Beaker--I don't think I'd ever play those ones out myself based on my own perceptions of the characters, but I can see where people might be coming from there. Likewise, I'm sure many simmers would have the same reaction to some of my own more commonly-occurring pairings.

And I had to laugh at the Don/Everyone option for the threesome/orgy poll :P
