OFB: Can't Assign Chef?

Does anyone know of a hack conflict or issue that came up with later EPs that prevents a business owner from assigning an employee as a chef? This has been happening to me, both pre- and post-reinstall of my game. I have no problem with assigning the lot owner to work as chef, but I believe I need an employee in place so that the lot is functional when visited by another sim.

I did some searching, but turned up nothing (or nothing recent and relevant, anyway — I have a stove on the lot). I'll pull out all my hacks and see if that does anything, but first I'd like to "ask the audience" (lame and outdated joke is lame and outdated. :P) to see if there's a known issue that I'm missing here.

Not aware of such a hack conflict, but do you use Business Runs You, and does it work to set a chef with that? (I love that hack. :P)

I just hate that the function doesn't work when it should work, but I'll try the Business Runs You. I have it, but rarely use it.

I have all EPs and SPs and I can definitely assign employees as chefs (am currently running a restaurant with one of my families) so I'd try taking your hacks out if I were you.

You say you've got a stove on the lot-- is it the big professional two-tile stainless industrial stove? It's got to be that one, in a restaurant.

Yeah, I have the industrial stove there (as I purchased a premade Nightlife reastaurant, it was already there). I should have been more specific. All the pages I found in my search mentioned that, but that was the only advice that turned up.
