Extras: Funny happenings in Strangetown

I was playing in Strangetown recently, trying to do some housekeeping after my downloads folder editing, in preparation for the upcoming chapter. I'm really looking forward to getting back there after what seems like forever, with my extremely slow updating and the side story to Veronaville (which I'm glad I did, but I'm looking forward to getting back to S'town).

There was one serious victim of the download purge...




Oh dear. Has Pascal decided to join the military? What about their decidedly anti-alien bent?

Pascal got his hair back promptly, so no harm, no foul.

Chloe likes girls and Ripp likes Chloe. Or is that Ripp likes Chloe liking girls? I'm sure it doesn't hurt.

I was playing with Chloe's restaurant and bar, Oasis, and I actually got it up to level six, which is amazing for me. Restaurants are difficult to play! I did have one snag where my hired chef would not be assigned to the stove. It didn't matter that much because Chloe is a celebrity chef and all, but it's still annoying. I wonder what's causing it. I've been paring down my hacks, too, so it seems unlikely that it's a conflict. Then again, I don't play fully-staffed restaurants too often.

Oasis is a laugh to play. I have Bella Goth and Genesis Lam as bartenders! XD




Speaking of hacks, I took out the one that stops the BV interactions entirely, because I was playing a vacation and my sims couldn't even learn the gestures because nobody would do them! The result is what you see before you. Ripp wasn't on the lot for five minutes before he started up a lusty sea chanty and had everyone joining in! Then again, and again, and again. He had a bit of a one-track mind, and not about what it's usually focused on.

I have the feeling this is going to spread around Strangetown and the subhoods like wildfire. I like the BV actions, but maybe I ought to find a hack that just reduces them a little. They're way too appealing to sims by default. It's all they do!




Sugar Tits made a point of telling me that she still thinks Pascal is hot, even with the tragic haircut (with detached sideburns!).

If I were Pascal, I wouldn't let it swell my ego too, too much. It's not all that difficult to turn Sugar Tits's crank, as it were...




See? She's liking Johnny's moves, too.

Also, Tai Chi is really big right now. Sadly, I noticed that sims don't seem to gain any body skill when they do that, but they gain fitness enthusiasm. That doesn't make much sense.




Tits also thinks Circe is one hot momma.




And PT's still got it. XD

I don't think there's anyone that Tits doesn't find attractive, frankly. She's one out of control romance sim.

Pascal wouldn't look so bad if that outfit weren't so OOC. And the sideburns. Ohh, those sideburns X(

As for the BV gestures — I just realized I'd never seen them in the game! Maybe one of these days I'll have more time just for messing around and I can send my Sims on vacation.

I don't think his outfit is so out of character. It's his new work outfit. If i recall correctly, he's now a paranormal investigator, or working up to become one.

But yeah, detached sideburns is never a good look. XD

I really like the tai chi and the sea shanty, but they're a little too persistent at the moment. It's worth taking your sims on vacation. It really does change how you're playing the game for a while, with less focus on skill gaining and promotions and all that.

Oh! My bad. I was thinking he got that after his old outfit had been deleted ... when I didn't even think to think about whether his old outfit was CC or not. So yeah, it's not.

Well, his default outfit did get replaced, now that you mention that. He was showing up with this outfit in red, since I have a default for it. It's not really such a bad choice for those outfits, since they show up on him and Nervous and the are in the desert and all.

Heheh. Not to be confused with them being in the dessert, of course! :P

I'll bet the military really is working on a way to prevent probing, so maybe they are.

Although you'd think someone would have to be pretty confident that they'd have a chance of being abducted, considering they'd have to make the things VERY hard to remove ... D:

The "anti-alien belt" made my mind leap to the Malthusian belts in Brave New World (females of breeding age wore them; they're like cartridge belts, but the cartridges are doses of birth control). The alien version might be another military development. :D

Is it one of the MATY ones? Maybe that's why I didn't see any of the interactions when I sent a sim on vacation. I have the Director's Cut and haven't gotten around to reading up on the ones for BV.

Good old Ripp, yes I can see why he would approve of Chloe's taste! :D

Congrats on your level 6 restaurant! I can't even get a yard sale to level 1 (not that I've really applied myself to it!)

Heheh. I remember that from Brave New World. It's an interesting angle, but it wouldn't work with my take on how the alien's actually reproduce with the sims. They don't need the sims to be fertile in the same way they are with their own species (thus the male reproduction, for one). Their implanted "eggs" draw DNA from any cells they come in contact with inside the sim's body.

I do believe it was a MATY hack. I always pull a couple of hacks from the Director's Cut right away, like the romance mod and the traditional marriage hack, and also the no humble hack, becuase it not only prevents him from coming, but it completely erases him from your game. -_- It'd be such a shame. He's too amusing to lose.

Maybe you missed the chapter where Sugar Tits made her debut? I won't spoil it for you, because it'll probably be good for a laugh. XD Let's just say that there's a very good reason for her overactive libido!

I know, my game is Humble-free because I forgot to pull that one. But I did yank traditional marriange (I can decide who gets what name, thanks) and the romance mod. I think it was Madame Ugly who told me the romance mod kills male-male sexy dancing.

Now I'm thinking of military research with nanobots that seek out alien DNA and destroy it, like a cancer. Or an Incredible Journey kind of thing with a tiny ship that can be injected into the veins of the abducted, piloted by shrunken sims who go to the site in the body where the infestation has taken root... imagine simming that, the CC one would need would be incredible. Or one could Photoshop the blood cells and internal organs in. Then the logical part of my mind kicks in and says, "Why not just cut it out surgically?" :-P Curse you, logic!

That's a good question where all abductions are concerned, actually. I guess it is technically possible for sims to do that, to avoid having an alien baby (and some have, in the story), but I guess that's why thealiens target the sims they do. They look for people who are more likely to keep them.

You could try Alexx58's Auto Gesture in Vacation Hoods Only (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=252059). I've used it since it came out without a problem. My sims can still learn gestures, and they don't go around teaching them to half the neighborhood. :)

Oh, and Sugar Tits is PRICELESS!

Hmmm. Well, that's better than the other hack, for sure. I do sort of wish I could have them break out into the sea shanty sometimes. Just not ALL the time. :P

I can answer this. They will eventually start to gain body skill but they have to "master" the skill first. It's kind of hard to tell how close they are to mastering it because there's no progress bar. But if your Sims are doing Tai Chi as much as you say they are, it shouldn't take long! My Sims have rolled up the want to Master Tai Chi several times and it's never taken me long to fulfill it.

Sugar Tits is just hilarious! If it walks upright and is alive, she'd totally hump it.

And as for the BV actions-- I hardly ever see them, even in the vacation nbhoods. I don't have a hack that prevents them, though, so I don't know why. I've had a total of one Sim learn Tai Chi! :-(

I found tai chi extremely hard to learn. There seemed like no way to get anyone to start doing it while on vacation. The locals only do it when music is present, I think, and even then it seems like they almost never feel the urge. That's why I wouldn't mind sims doing it autonomously every now and then. I worked hard to earn it!
