I've decided to come clean about the identity of the Worthington-esque toddler from my previous post. She is, indeed, a member of that family, and the story of how she came to be is an interesting one, and purely an accident. A good accident, I think. She's a great little sim.

And she grows up well, too!

I was playing ahead with Frances.

He graduated uni and grew into a surprisingly appropriate outfit. Good for you, Frances J!

I played him for a couple of days after I moved him into his new apartment in Sim City (he lives with Tank for a while, but eventually moves here).

This is just a typical evening at Frances's house. :P Nothing at all happening that goes against characterization or plot for S,HWC. Nothing at all!

Beau was still in college, but that doesn't stop Frances from calling him up for a date or two. Beau is pretty generous with his post-date gifts, as you can see.

Including THIS! O_O

I was as surprised as Frances here, because I was playing the game with the sound off and headphones on. I didn't realize that ACR had allowed Beau to impregnant my dear little Franny! Beau's a fortune/family sim, but for some reason it never occured to me that a college student would autonomously impregnate their boyfriend. Not to mention the fact that I had left the same sex pregnancy hack in (I'd been using it for a prosperity hood that did not abide by the same laws as my story universe). Oops!

I knew a non-alien genetic male pregnancy couldn't happen in the story, but by the time Frances made this little "Hey I'm pregnant!" smile, I knew I'd never be able to cancel the pregnancy. I figured I'd just hide her indefinitely, in a sort of alternate universe.

Frances: Aw what the hell... I'm pregnant, so why not just wear pink?

Beau decides to serenade his sweetie. How much do you want to bet it's a silly song about Franny being preggers?

They're just too cute. This is all autonomous, by the way.

Beau was there for the birth, too. Frances decided to go into labour in the street, even though I'd have assumed he'd be more into something private. Always surprising, those sims!

Beau asks the person in the sky who controls the menu bar, "How can this even BE? It is a miracle!"

Yes, a sweet little miracle she is! I named her after Frances.

One of Nervous's clones was at the birth. Again, perfectly normal and okay, storywise. Of course.

Beau is a devoted father, always doing autonomous parenting things.

It's that the sweetest thing?

Frances isn't too bad himself.

Here she is getting taught her skills.

And some autonomous playing with Beau.

I aged her up to see what she's look like. Definitely a Worthington non-chin, if this pic is anything to go by! :P

She also has Frances's eyebrows and hair colour, but everything else is pure Beau.

Here she is as a crazy teenager! Wheee!

I thought she might have Frances's nose, but it's definitely Beau's, and that's a good thing. Lillian shows just how scary the Worthington nose can look on a female.

And as an adult...

I have her singing here because she spends most of her time as a toddler autonomously singing nursery rhymes, even thought she had plenty of toys around. It's the only time I've ever seen that.

So as I said, I wasn't ever going to mention her, but I've decided to use her in the story in a slightly modified way. She's going to be Edie's child instead. This worked out easily in-game by putting her up for adoption and then having Edie and Val adopt her.

So there you have it. My game is always throwing me unexpected twists to work into the story, but that's what makes it so much fun.

Aw! She's cute! ^_^ What a sweet expression on Frances' face when he realizes... I wouldn't have been able to cancel it, either. I'm glad you came up with a way to keep her.

I think I was even less unlikely to cancel the pregnancy given how random and unexpected it was. It was like they had beaten the odds to have their baby, so how could I deny them?

I'm way too soft for this game. :P

Ditto. I rolled the "kill the next three sims that visit" challenge and I was all T_T (although now I have a swimming ghost, which is awesome!) But I hated killing them. I put them in plat first to soften the blow.

A swiming ghost? How cool! I've never seen that before.

Playing a legacy is a good exercise for me that way. I'm not letting myself extend the lives of my sims at all. I have to let them die. I'm not too, too bad at letting sims die, but I tend to cling to my favourites.

It's interesting you say that about the eyes. I've been noticing that Beau has some features that are similar to Nervous Subject, but in a more reserved sort of way. The eyes are a good example. They have a very slight slope downward on the outer edge.

I like it when a sims eyes are turned downward at the edges. It makes them look kind of sleepy in a good way.
Nervous' eyes are definitely an extreme version of this but Nervous is cute too. His eyes are pretty dominant when I breed him except for when he is abducted which is a shame. I think his eye shape with the alien eyes would be really pretty.

I agree. It's a nice look for eyes. Even in the extreme, with Nervous, I find it endearing.

I think I've seen someone with an alien baby from Nervous who had his eyes, but in the alien black. It was very cute.

I knew she was Frances/Beau spawn! Although I'd totally forgotten about the same sex pregnancy hack and instead had a theory about you creating a gender reversed Frances or Beau to act as a surrogate.

The fact that so many people were so close to figuring it out is why I decided to spill the beans. I don't usually use the same sex pregnancy hack, but I was playing around with it for a while. It was nothign but trouble for me! I had another oopsie moment during my turn at the Round Robin legacy, too.

Yes, of course! I'll have no trouble explaining it away at all. :P (Actually, I've somehow worked in things that were nearly as out there, so maybe I could...)

Yes, you can! ^_^ I'm going to upload some sims soon. For real this time.

She's lovely! I guess Francis and Beau's adorable love affair was strong enough to break the laws of the universe. Miracles do happen! :'D

Just finished STHWC to date, then saw this and had to comment on this post.

OMG SO CUTE. I love how they oopsed you.

And I adore your version of Beau. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Frannie grow up. :)

Yes, she is a cutie. I had thought possibly that Edie had agreed to be a surrogate for Frances and Beau.
