Sand in the backyard?

Does anyone else get this sandy effect off in the distance from the lot view at the Summerdream house? I've seen it on other lots too, like in Bluewater Village, and I was wondering what causes it. Is it the same in other people's games? It's a pretty minor thing, but it kind of bothers me.

I had that effect in my VV hood. It's because the house is so low to the watertable. It happened to me when I tried to 'fix' the lot's atrocious foundation and nothing I did made it go away. In my case, I also had it look like the backyard was flooded.

I finally ended up rebuilding the lot from scratch after fixing the terrain first, so it wasn't so sinking below the water line.
