I'm still playing with Castway Stories, and I've been having a blast playing with Orson Curry, the famed anthropologist on Wanmami Island, and Linnea Wilson, his intrepid pilot friend. Since Orson's a knowledge sim, I used him to test out the alien abductions in CS.

Here's some shots of the cut scene for his delivery.

I named her Temple. (If you can figure out why, I'll give you a cookie.) Can you believe this is one of the only times I've ever watched this cut scene? I'll have to do it again. It's super cute. I'm a little bummed out that I forgot to drop Phobia's alien eye defaults into the dowloads folder before the birth, but what can you do? I added them after and they worked just fine, but it was a bit late for the cut scene.

I'm thinking of working some of this into the next S,HWC update, what with the alien pollinating going on. I also have a way to tie it back to Veronaville, which is where I'm heading for the next chapter.

A lurker coming out just to say "Aww!"

Really, though. This is very cute and I had no idea you could even get abducted in Castaway Stories.

I'm not sure if you can, by default. There's a hack for it here, so I assume not. I added in Simbology's hack that increased the odds for alien abduction, though I'm not sure if it worked. I had to send Orson to the telescope every night without fail.

I'm really having a lot of fun Castaway Stories. I recommend it to anyone who likes Sims 2, especially if they continue to play it now, without any new EPs. It's a fun twist on the original. I adopted a stray hyena into one of my families today too! ^_^

I've actually been thinking of checking out Castaway Stories. Now it looks like I've got yet another incentive :3

I'd say go for it! I've gotten my money's worth and then some. I'd recommend it to any fan of Sims 2.

It'll be either this, or The Sims Complete Collection. The other day I was listing off things from TS1 I thought should have been in TS2 — maybe you saw it? It really made me miss the first game.

I love Castaway Stories!!!

I'm going to have to buy another copy... I think I accidentally left my disc in the computer I had to return to the store because it was the wrong model. :\

It's really fun playing the scripted game out with an imported Sim! Remember what I did to poor Vid, lol?

Yeah, that was fun. I played through with Jessica Knight, though, because I want to treat her as a Maxis character in her own right.

Jessica is now happily married to Akolo (aka the key stud of Felicity Island), with one daughter, Jaimia. She's also taken over the role as Shaman. Not bad.

I adore the alien birth cut-scene, it's so cute and funny at the same time! I never thought about buying Lifestories, but I've been reading a lot about it and it seems really fun, so I may have to give a try.

Alien babies! :) Naw..

I've always loved Castaway stories. It keeps crashing when I try to play it now. :(

Temple.. Hmm.. Wasn't Orson an elder? For some reason, I remember him with grey hair.. Most likely I'm very wrong. :S

So cute! I've been looking for a long time for Castaway Stories for PC, but to no avail. Kid was so cute and bought me Castaway for the Wii thinking it's the one I wanted.

That cut scene is the best one. When the hatch opens in the plumbob. . .yeah, still funny.

The only other one I like is when a sim goes to college. The look on the parent's face is too much (especially if you get a streaker--I don't think that happens every time).

I've been wondering if I should get Castaway Stories... Apparently I should :) It's a little sad that there won't be new EPs for TS2 so Castaway Stories could be really fun. Thanks for sharing these pictures!

Is Temple named after the character from Faulker's 'Sanctuary'?

Sorry it took me forever to respond to this.

That's a good guess, but not correct. The key to the answer lies in the fact that Orson is an anthropologist and made a trip into outer space. You might say he was an Anthropologist on (insert planet name here). ;) Temple is named after the subject of that piece of writing, by a favourite non-fiction author of mine, who focuses on neurological oddities. Temple's namesake is also a hero of mine, who's also an author who focuses on neurology, and autism specifically.

But now I've said far too much.
