Flower Shopping

Here's a little scene I cooked up for a laugh. Remember when Beau and Frances bought Tank a certain special flower to spruce up his home? Well, this shows them on their flower shopping trip.








"We have a wide selection of roses," Ripp enthused to one of his customers. "Would you like me to show you some examples?"

"You know, I hear he'll make out with anything," Beau said. "Even robots."

"Yeah, I heard that." Frances played along, emboldened by Beau's pressence. As Beau had said before, it served Ripp right to have the shoe placed on the other foot. He'd done it to him, hadn't he?

"Hey, Ripp! Can I have a kiss? You've kissed everyone else." Beau teased. He continued to make kissing sounds. "Hey, I'm looking for a kiss over here. Kissy kissy kissy..."




"I can't believe we've been waiting here for so long," Beau said, much too loudly. "I was told this salesman was EASY to get service from..."

"Can you excuse me for one moment?" Ripp asked the woman.




"Oh, hey, Ripp! How nice of you to finally come help us. I was just wondering if —"










"So, yeah... is there anything else I can help you with?"

There was only stunned silence for a moment.




"Well, we were interested in a plant," Frances finally said.

"Umm, yeah..." Beau added, "how much is that dick plant back there?"

Question is it the uniform or has Ripp put on some weight? I had thought that Ripp was super hetero, so how do you shoot these scenes? That shocked look on Frances face, which then seems to turn sad.

So, is this also part of that "going too far?" But I suppose Ripp found a way to shut Beau up for a bit, but for how long?

Boy, Ripp certainly supplies plenty of comic relief. You've gone and endeared him to me. I'm sorry I wasn't willing to let him evolve pre-crash, instead I tried to reform him. Perhaps, when I eventually re-start a new game?

I think it's just the outfit, though in the story he is putting on a bit of weight (though not enough to warrant the big ol' belly of the fat morph). It's mostly implied.

I've never had any trouble getting Ripp to follow directions to kiss other male sims. I didn't think any sim would refuse a directed action. The receiver might refuse, but not the one carrying it out. Maybe it's different with MATY's romance mod. I do remember it giving me some trouble that way, which is why I never use it.

Yes, this certainly falls under Ripp's tendency to "go to far." Tits was another good example.

I do greatly enjoy using his for comic relief, even though he also finds himself in lots of drama. Ripp goes through it all, yet manages to do very little in the way of anything productive.

I knew he'd do that. That's so Ripp. Always seems to need to be in control and have the upper hand, especially in low-risk situations like this. (That sounds totally contradictory but it's one of the most interesting things about him, to me, that when it comes to more serious stuff he tends to want to get some distance between him and it and let the 'professionals' take over.)

Anyway, yes. That was awesome and brightened my day.

I really like this comment, and I've been turning it over in my head ever since you posted it. I think it is very true. Ripp has tended to bail out on anything "real" up to this point, preferring to live in his own little detached dream world. Part of it, I think, is a fear of investing himself in something he assumes he will fail.

(Then again, it'd be out of character for Ripp to be that violent, but that kind of teasing could make anyone insane!)

Yeah, you're right. Ripp's a lover, not a fighter. Ripp hasn't even really fought back during most fights he's been in, except for the one after Tank destroyed Buck's dollhouse. I suppose he needs to be pushed over the limit to go there.

I'm still amused by the dick plant too. The texture is just so detailed. :P

Yeah, I think Beau could easily be a serious sim in another game/story/whatever. I've taken some liberties with him, for sure. I do play him as serious, but only about long terms goals and such. In the moment, he likes to carry on, and I relate that back to his outgoing personality.

The lady is a randomly generated business reporter. I think she turned out rather well.

I don't think I need to say it, but I love how Beau is just so...Beau, and how he hasn't turned Frances into a little dick so much as brought that already existing bit of him out, for better of for worse.

That is an appropriate reaction to heckling, Ripp, I approve.

Heheh. I like that. I think it's very true that Frances was like that all along, but just needed someone to encourage him (or maybe someone to back him up, so he wouldn't have to stand up to the consequences all by himself).
