So... I borrowed The Chrysalids and The Day of the Triffids from a friend, and now I'm sort of hooked on reading John Wyndham. These are great books. If you haven't read them, I'd highly recommend checking them out. I'm going to have to seek out more of his stuff, I think.

Hmm. Now why do I have the sudden urge to make S,HWC more post-apocalyptic? ;)

That's a good point. I was forgetting about what the rebel PTs are planning. As you can tell, I haven't worked out every detail just yet.

I think it'd be a cool idea for a spin-off story, though I don't think I'd have it in me to create a world to set it in. pixelcurious did a great job on creating an alien planet in her Mnemosyne story. It seemed like a lot of work, finding the right cc, and building a whole hood from scratch. It would be fulfilling, though, I'm sure.

But why would you have to have a new alien planet terrain, I mean they went to S,HWC probably because the conditions were already similar to those of the home planet. PollTech9 would most likely have looked for the same class type terrain as what he was already used to, and to tweak it he put some grass and a pool.

If you had the computer drive capability could you add a premade 'hood, say even the Strangetown template, to your shopping district, they start with lawn living or primitive shelters recycled from what's at hand, and you could add things gradually as they find items of use?
