Thanks to the advice of [livejournal.com profile] akatonbo and [livejournal.com profile] simgaroop, I was able to replace the textures on the facial hair. I also did some more playing around with the alpha, and I think I've finally arrived at what I've been aiming for.

It's manly, yet minimally groomed. I think it looks more natural than having the hair abruptly end just above the ear. I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out, and it feels nice to finally get somewhere with it. Now all I have to do is bin these colours, and I can share them.

They look really good! (and so does Ripp, but he always does!)

I have an issue with the female beards, the ones on MTS2... I know Mme Ugly got them and has all the colors, but I only have black. I even re-downloaded them and still only have black. :p I wonder if it's a related issue to the color problem you had.

Do you get four black versions of each, or just one that's black? It sounds like it might be a similar problem, but I only tried that hack for a short time. (It's a hack that enables the facial hair for females, right? That's the one I used.)

Sorry I'm not much help. :(

Hmmm... I'm not sure actually. I get black under all the hair colors, so if I have a sim with red hair, then go to her facial hair, what's there is just black. Same for blond and brown.

No worries, sometime when I really want to use it, I'll figure it out. :)
