Ummm, so what happened to my Bella?

And yes, that is a wrench in her hand. Obviously.
Mortimer finds it all very amusing. (I find his outfit very amusing.)

Date: 2009-06-18 03:37 am (UTC)You mean that if a sim gains weight while you're not playing with it, you can't get it back to their original one later? Not even if you play their lot and make it workout? That's stupid!

Date: 2009-06-18 03:49 am (UTC)And, yep, it`s very stupid. Story progression is a pretty cool idea but, as usual, EA messed up big time in the execution.

Date: 2009-06-18 03:16 am (UTC)I have a love-hate relationship with Story Progression. On one hand, it deleted my Broke family (;^;) and all my male bachelors in Riverview, save one, have magically acquired babies. On the other hand, I do love how families I'm not interested in playing still go on existing and doing their thing. I kind of wish you could turn it on and off by household, rather than having it affect the whole hood, but what can you do. :/

(And with story progression on, there are even MOAR silly dressed sims around town!)

Date: 2009-06-18 03:42 am (UTC)I love their faces in this. Bella's all 'Hay BB. Sup? Looking good, Mr. Sexy." And Mortimer just looks RESIGNED and 'WHAT IS MY LIFE?!'
I'm all for interesting body types in game, but that is so not my Bella. My Bella is 'perfect'. Thin with lots of curves. Kaylynn is rake-thin with awkward elbows and small, cute tits that she is forever bemoaning. Morty is muscular, but not ridiculously so. Just like... enough that you know he actually does exercise a bit. I imagine he might have played a sport at some point, but not extensively. Maybe baseball? Or track. IDK.

Date: 2009-06-18 01:52 pm (UTC)Also, as much fun as the movie is, I'd rather they went by game canon/the canon in these awesome Clue books I had when I was a kid when I totally shipped Scarlet/Everyone (but mostly Mr.Green!).
OH MAN.

(and I think someone did a Clue with sims 2)

(also, Sims 3 Clue parody? Do it. I'd read it. :P)
(Bella would make a perfect Scarlet. Morty is Plum. Definitely Plum.)

Date: 2009-06-18 10:15 pm (UTC)SLUTFLIRT and that is her DEFINING TRAIT.Also this one time it was Mr. Green's birthday and Miss Scarlet cooed in his ear and said: "Make a wish!" and his wish was that SHE WOULD COO IN HIS EAR MORE OFTEN and then Plum comes in and remembers that he had gotten Green a bomb for his birthday but had forgotten where he'd left it and then everyone had to go find it before they all DIED. And they ran out of time, but survived because Plum had forgotten to set it! XD
I'd love to do it, but I think I'd need awesomemod and I don't want to download anything to my sister's comp. Also, it'd be a bitch to set up, I'm sure.
Soooo:
Bella = Scarlet
Morty = Plum (I still kind of see him being Boddy as well)
Kaylynn = White (She's a maid! And hates them all!)
Malcolm = Mustard (Haha, in the books he constantly challenged people to duels) or Green
Crumplebottom = Peacock (Old and Prudish = YES.)
So I'm still kind of flimsy on the boys. In any case. I LOVE THIS.
I talk too much. :x
Date: 2009-06-19 12:50 am (UTC)I've never read the Nancy Drew Notebooks, but god did I ever love the "Old Skool" Nancy Drew. Like, the Nancy Drew my mom grew up with. I swear I've read almost all of them.
Scarlet is a
slutflirt. A sexy, sexy, flirt. Who I LOVE. (off topic: she was the only character I'd ever play in the board game when I was younger. She was that. Awesome.). Mr. Green has his priorities in order with that birthday wish, clearly, that is so amazing. Also, PLUM! :D :D :D.I'm really wary of the "Awesomemod" right now. Last I heard, it was still kind of broken, like crashing the game and what not? It doesn't sound very stable right now, anyway. :/ I'll live with the bugs for now, I think.
I'll be honest in that my view of the Clue characters' personalities is pretty heavily influenced by the movie (because I remember it better :x), so I have a hard time thinking of Mr. Boddy as anything other than a bit of a sinister, but ~suave~ villain. And I have a hard time thinking or Mortimer that way, while I do think he'd slot pretty comfortably into a variant of a brilliant-but-absentminded Plum. But that's just me. :)
Kaylynn would be the hottest maid!White evar, true fact.
Crumplebottom is the perfect Peacock. xD (her adorable little granny-boots seal the deal. Because they do.)
The funny thing is, I've hardly glanced at Malcolm in either game and he was still my first thought for Mustard. :P He just has that kind of vibe, I guess? But I'm not sure, personality-wise
I...I still have no idea for Green though. :(
Yeah, the boys don't really seem to have "perfect matches" the way the girls do. :( Oh well! I AM GLAD YOU LOVE THIS.
It's okay for I am also long-winded!
Date: 2009-06-19 03:12 am (UTC)I've been really tempted to find the ones I'm missing off of amazon and buy 'em. I have like.. the first four and then three other ones? Also, partway through the series the art direction for the covers changed and it pissed me off, because they were all much less sexy looking and I was/am a shallow kid. :(
I couldn't get into the regular Nancy Drews! Probably because I was under their reading level and also because I had read the notebooks first and the existence of Ned confused me, because he wasn't in my canon. Also, they needed more Bess/Nancy/George. Also, I looooooove the series of Nancy Drew mysteries they made for the computer (I've only played a few), but they are SO FUN and I love being a super sleuth!
OMG I WAS THE SAME. Scarlet is my girl. I used to throw fits when somebody else tried to play her. I also have three different versions of Clue (and tried to buy another one, but my mother made the worst face when I suggested it) - a junior detective one that is basically a board game and all the characters are SO ADORABLE, the regular one and Master Detective which added in all these extra characters/rooms/weapons and is basically for PEOPLE WHO ARE SERIOUS ABOUT CLUE.
Yeah, I think the Awesomemod sounds... awesome. In theory. But I don't want to do anything that would mess up my sister's comp at all. I know that Pescado wouldn't actively do anything to fuck up people's computers, but I just... it's not my place to go downloading shit. :\
I'm always sort of surprised to realize how much I really love the Clue franchise. I mean, it doesn't really have an active fandom though there is a small following for the movie and it doesn't really have a set canon either. But I just... really love the basic idea of it and the characters and various versions of them.
The movie is awesome! I don't remember it all that well (I don't own it and hardly ever catch it on TV), but I really love watching it and I have such a stupid crush on Tim Curry (who doesn't?), but it's not my 'canon'. I prefer Boddy as the lovable host in the books, who would really just like it if his friends stopped killing one another/him. Also, I like that he keeps inviting them back even though I think he has to know on SOME LEVEL that they're all gigantic assholes who shouldn't be trusted.
According to Wikipedia the Boddy in the Clue books is:
...is ludicrously naive, to the point where he accepts any attempt to kill him as an accident or a misunderstanding (such as a dropped Wrench flying all the way across the Mansion and hitting him in the head), and invites the guests back to the mansion. This explains why he never seeks any legal action against his "friends," and invited them back despite repeated attempts to kill him. However, after a few books, he wises up enough to be suspicious of them, but continues to invite them over against better judgment.
So I could definitely see Mortimer being that trusting. I mean... he thinks Dina really loves him after all. XD
Haha, Malcolm does give off a very Mustardy vibe to me. He's also a total gentlemen in the books, except when he feels like he's being insulted and then he challenges people to duels.
THIS IDEA WILL NEVER STOP BEING AMAZING!
Re: It's okay for I am also long-winded!
Date: 2009-06-20 12:20 am (UTC)Haha, Nancy Drew were the first "real" books I ever read. :D I was the complete opposite with Ned and the boys though; I couldn't accept any canon where they weren't around. The first books I read in the series took place long after the boys had been introduced, and I when I went back to re-read the earlier ones...I just couldn't. My nine year-old mind could not grasp the idea of a world without Ned. D: That said, GEORGE WAS AMAZING, OMG. (Bess was too girly for me, though. idk either). OH, AND THOSE GAMES. I had a whole bunch of them, but only ever finished one. I kept getting myself killed. *fails at adventure games* ;_;
WHAT IS THAT LAST GAME I WISH TO KNOW. I've only ever played the old-skool clue, unfortunately. And the computer game, "Murder at Boddy Mansion." It was fabulous.
As for the awesomemod, totally. I was the exact same way when I was playing on my dad's laptop all the time, didn't even want to open the internet. :') Better to be too paranoid with other people's machines than too careless.
The Clue franchise has such potential to be a breeding ground for ideas, I think. It's just so wide open, with stock characters and a stock plot, and the rest is just as wild as your imagination can make it, and it is just so fun. Also, you know, murder mysteries! Who doesn't love a murder mystery?
A big part of my love for the movie came from Yvette-the-trampy-maid, to be honest; I had such a girl-crush on her, it was a little sad. D:
That description is really great for Mortimer, I must have missed it earlier! I am conflicted now. ;( (ooo, Mortimer and Dina. D: Just....D:)
(such as a dropped Wrench flying all the way across the Mansion and hitting him in the head)
EXCUSE ME WHILE I LAUGH FOREVER. (aaannnd, we're back to Bella, in the living room, with the wrench. See, this conversation is totally relevant to the original topic. :P)
