Here we find Strange enjoying two of her favourite things: eating tomatoes and banging
Life is good.
She seriously eats them like that autonomously, which is a little unsettlingly realistic, but maybe because she has about a million of them in her inventory. She has a green thumb.
I wanted to see how the genetics worked, and since Morgana Wolff can't get Strange pregnant, she went with the easy option. And I do mean ~easy~.
Here she is announcing her pregnancy, which is a cute idea for a new interaction. I do enjoy the personalized options for socializing. Sims get options based on what they've been doing. Strange even had options to "gossip about Ripp" and "confess attraction for Ripp" when she was talking to Ophelia. It makes me suspect he's putting the makes on her too (she didn't want to hear about the attraction AT ALL), which wouldn't be much of a surprise.
When Strange went into labour and went to hospital, I was surprised to notice someone bolting in to be there for the delivery. Pretty amusing.
Yep. All in a days work for Ripp's sperm. Must be nice.
And here's little Red Tomato as a kid. Sorry if you wanted to see baby/toddler pics. I don't seem to have bothered to take any (because they're boring and creepy *coughs*).
He's a pretty good blend of both parents. I'm interested to see how that looks as he ages. He's a heavy sleeper, a virtuoso, and a party animal so far.
This is Abram, for comparison. He's just a clone of Ripp, I'm pretty sure. I love that the game recognizes that they're "half brothers." It's pretty specific.
Strange is a chef, by the way. She works at this bistro. What a view, huh?
If there's one thing I completely adore about this game, it's the graphics for the scenery and how far you can see into the distance. There's actually atmospheric perspective. It's beautiful.
Heehee. I invited them all over for a party, and found them outside together.
And what were they looking at?
Yeah, you guessed it. ^_^
I love the little details they randomly produce, like Phi's sexy new guitar. Johnny whips out a laptop every now and then (workaholic, don't you know). Now if they'd only get a job, that'd be awesome. All three are unemployed and story progression don't seem to compel them to change that. Maybe I'll try switching households to mess around with them.
I haven't added any downloads yet besides the awesomemod, because I haven't bothered to look into adding them without using the launcher or whatever. I don't want SecurRom on my computer, so I need to make sure I'm doing it in such a way to avoid that.

Date: 2009-06-09 02:21 am (UTC)LOL! It took me three entries to realize that the "stranger" was Ripp! XD. (I thought he was your SO's self-sim!).
I love the pictures of the children. They are so cute! :)
And it seems some things don't change, no matter what version of the game you're playing!

Date: 2009-06-09 03:15 am (UTC)I've heard complaints about the story progression for non played sims. It seems that it's pretty broken, or at least very stupid. Supposedly all the unplayed children grow up poorly and end up taking on bad personality traits since the story progression doesn't actually make them do anything reasonable. Like go to school. Or get a job. Or... So on and so forth.
What does the awesomemod do?

I wish there was a way to make a three-way baby... *smiles*

Date: 2009-06-09 06:56 am (UTC)I know developers want the toons/characters to look as human/natural/whatever like possible, but the more they try, the more silly the characters look, imo.

Date: 2009-06-09 11:48 am (UTC)Either way, I have no desire to use their launcher or download manager, and certainly not without a firewall block in place. I just don't trust them, and just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not after me (heehee - teenage music reference). I'll wait a while to see if there's another way to install the content.
ETA: Well, MATY isn't the only info source I trust (MTS and GoS have also kept me very well-informed), but I tend to go by whatever MATY reports on the matter.
ETA2: It seems that jfade is working on a Sims3pack editor, that would work like the clean installer, and allow me to avoid the launcher altogether. Sounds like a better option.

A Securrom by any other name is still something I do not want.

Date: 2009-06-09 08:25 pm (UTC)Certain parts of the Sims 3 are really appealing to me and others not, so it's a mixed bag. I guess I have to take the good with the bad and enjoy it for what it is.
So far, that's been my approach to it, and I've been having fun.

Date: 2009-06-09 09:37 pm (UTC)I also am getting more used to the look of TS3 sims, but darn it, I wish they MOVED like TS2 sims. D:
I love it that Ripp ran into the hospital. That's a nice detail. I've had it happen in my game too. Nothing like a panic-stricken father-to-be! :D

Date: 2009-06-09 10:41 pm (UTC)The scenery is very pretty but it makes the sims stand out like sore thumbs, like they're posing in front of really nice backdrops. Reminds me of photoshopped sims2 pics.

Date: 2009-06-11 03:52 am (UTC)my plan is to wait at least 6 months to a year until there is some good CC and we know for sure what kind of shenanigans EA's up to in regards to securom.
