Strangetown Extras: The Founding Four of the Sim Pollination Project

I've been working on the next update and I have another image that just dying to share. You really are better off not viewing it if you care about spoilers, but I just can't wait until then. It's an image of PT No. 9's team of four pollinators. I took the idea from the original Multi-PT replacement set and have decided that all PTs operate in a group of four that way, with one for each hair colour. PT No. 9 is the redhead and PT No. 7 (the Maxis default) has black hair, so I needed to come up with two others.








They are: PT No. 3. PT No. 5, PT No. 9, and PT No. 7.

PT No. 3 is a clone of Stella with brown hair. I figure s/he was one of Stella's parents. PT No. 5 is based on the thumbnail of PT No. 7 from Pleasantview (though a little less exaggerated in features), who turns up in the Caliente family tree. Since PT No. 7 is already taken (the default PT) and the one in Pleasantview doesn't match up, I used PT No. 5 instead. It's interesting to note that s/he does have pointed ears in the thumbnail in the family tree. I changed the haircolour, though. I assume it was black.

PT No. 9 and PT No. 7 don't need much explanation. You've already seen, no doubt, that PT No. 7 was the PT who crashed into Strangetown, and s/he died as a result of that. I realize there are some timeline issues there, but let's assume that PTs ocassionally use the genetic materials of other PTs in their pollinating (I really wanted the default PT to die in that crash, and Mint and those kids were the last of his pollinations). The crash would have had to have happened just after Vidcund was abducted, unless another PT used his material, which would allow it to have happened a little earlier, which might make more sense (or maybe not - I'm not going to sweat those details at this point - it happened around that time, anyway). The other two PTs are also dead, from the virus.

What happened to the other numbers, you may ask? 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.? Well, perhaps they didn't survive training? I have no idea. I just went with the odd number theme.

Well, I'm sure there's lots of technical stuff, like learning how to fly a spacecraft and properly abduct sims. Then there's the matter of what they do with them when the get them back on the ship. They obviously require lots of traning for that hard work.

well OBVIOUSLY the 3, 6, and 8 had some sort of irreconcilable differences with the 1, 2, and 5 and in the resulting battle the even numbers were killed. but before the remaining survivors could continue the fight, the colonial fleet showed up and they had to jump away.

PT5 looks a lot like the gwill (is that the name?) PT replacement set (the classic pointed ear one).

I'm looking forward to the updates that contain the PT info.

Ooooh, this is awesome! Default PT looks weird with hair, though...I always make him bald in CAS. But yeah, it's a neat idea to have pollinators work in groups, with genetic variation to make sure the offspring are stronger. I look forward to seeing more of the aliens' backstory in the future *hint hint* ;)
