"So how did you enjoy the show?"
"It was... what it was."
"Oh, here we go again. What was wrong with it THIS time?"
"Nothing. It was just a magic show. What else is there to say about it?

"Don't tell me you don't like magic! Everyone loves magic, Fran."
"Yes, like pirates. There's just no accounting for taste."
"Oh, please. What's wrong with magic? That stuff was really impressive."

"It's moronic. There's an obvious trick to it all, but people still ooh and ahh like it's amazing."
"It IS amazing."
"Well, they don't have to play it up as some sort of spiritual thing. The power of attraction - what a crock."

"Oh boohooHOO, Franny. Just because someone actually believes in something instead of crying about how God is dead all day..."
"Are you making fun of me?!"
"What do you think?"
"I think you've had too much sugar. It's past your bedtime."
"Yeah, sure. Get snotty with me."
"And for your information, I don't cry about it. I just don't believe in fairytales... or magic."

"Okay, fine. So you didn't like it. But why not just say that instead of insulting everyone that does like it?"
"You asked me for my opinion, Beau. And my opinion is that magic is for -"
"What's that? I didn't catch it."
"Oh, nothing."
"Rubes. You were going to say rubes, weren't you? I can read your lips."

"Oh, can you? Then bring your lips over here and read this."
"You want to kiss a rube?"
"Are you a rube?"
"I'm a lot of things."
"You said it."
"I'm an magician too, you know. I can make your pants disappear."
"We'll see about that."
"Kiss me."
A/N: I worked a magic (no, sorry, illusionist) show tonight at the arts centre and it inspired me to send Frances and Beau to the same show.

Date: 2009-04-27 10:15 am (UTC)They are pretty cute together, if I do say so myself. I love how Frances is open enough with Beau to give him his depressing take on the emptiness of the universe, and then Beau can turn around and MAKE FUN of him for it. It shows a very high level of comfort.
