Drabble+: Leaves

Prompt: Leaves
Characters: Johnny Smith, Ripp Grunt, Ophelia Nigmos
Wordcount: 263
Imagecount: 1
Warnings: language, gratuitous nudity

"Oh my GOD, this leaves nothing to the imagination AT ALL!"

"Let me see..."

"No! I don't want you ogling this!"

"Then why'd you pose for it, hot shot?"

"It was a fundraiser! I don't know... I didn't think it would be this revealing."

"Give me that." Ripp snatched the calendar from Johnny's hand. "Oh... oh, my."

"Shut up."

"Johnny, this is fucking awesome! You're going to have people lining up to get a piece when they see this."

"Oh, come on..."

"No, really... I'm getting a hard-on just looking at it."

"You're an idiot and I hate you."

"I'm serious! It's hot." Johnny glared at him. "Oh, come on, now... aren't you jocks all gay for each other anyway? Gettin' all naked in the locker room and stuff?"

"You're an idiot."

"Hey, what's going on?" Ophelia asked, as she entered the room.

"John posed nude for a calendar fundraiser."

"Oh, really... Let me see that."

Johnny shuffled around awkwardly while Ophelia examined it.

"Nice. Real nice."

"Thanks, Phi."

"What is it with you Smiths and taking your clothes off, anyway?" she asked.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"Oh... well, don't go to see the first year art show."

"WHY NOT?"

"Jill's naked and all over the paintings there," Ripp said, "It's pretty awesome."

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah, she didn't mention it?" Ophelia asked.

"Why would she?" Ripp laughed. "Johnny'd just go off the head." He smiled and looked over to where Johnny was fuming, and, in a moment of realization, he turned and grabbed Ripp by the shirt collar.

"Your BROTHER!"

*wolf whistles*

That's just TOO cute. And I love the fact that Ripp's tormenting Johnny about it too.
Oh boy, can you imagine Johnny's face if he sees Jill's 'life classes, nude poses'.....

You should make up a calendar with your characters in some (if not all) compromising poses.... that would be so cool..

You know, he'd probably calm down once he sees them. Life modeling poses aren't sexy (at least the challenging, enjoyable to draw ones aren't. But maybe the context of drawing nudes is so far removed from sex and so snuggly ensconced in "work".)

Yeah, it depends on the pose, doesn't it? Most are pretty classy and focused on the overall form and curves, not the naughty bits. ;)

I don't usually even draw the "crotchal region," but I do draw the breasts. That's the best part. Women are way more interesting to draw than men.

[identity profile] leskuh.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with that last comment. I LOVE drawing girls. Boys are just... boring. Girls get fun curves.

Women are easier to draw, I think, and more fun. There's more going on in the little intricate folds. That applies to both realistic figure drawing and cartoons for me.

Yeah, I'm all about the girls.

"Yeah, I'm all about the girls."

Oh are you now? Wonder what your SO would say about that. :P

For drawing, for drawing... :P

In all honesty, he's not really bothered. I'm all his now, with the ring and all, so what does it matter who I'm attracted to? And, well... he's not really bothered by my attraction to girls. Being a dude, he quite likes it, in fact. (This amuses me, because girls are the same way, if only on the internet. :P)

[identity profile] xel-squirgle-ox.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well I didn't say he would be bothered by it now did I? ;)

Well, boy bits confound me, so I always draw them. Besides, it's still part of the body! (And lets face it, boys can be sexy, but boy bits are not.) Women are generally more interesting but most of the OMG WOW models I have access to are guys (it's a close race, though).

I tend to go nuts on legs.

I did slip up a little Tuesday; I had to leave class for an hour to meet with my advisor, and when I came back with had a larger model. I LOVE larger models. I love the sweeping curves, the challenge, and I think it's a little easier for me to see the rhythm with more substance to work with. But I was so happy when I saw her I let a "beautiful!" slip out (she *was* gorgeous, but it was more of a "yay! big model!" reaction). (You know, I haven't had a large man yet... which sucks but I suspect won't be as enjoyable.)

Really? You draw in the cock and balls? (Pardon my french.) For a full-body figure, I find them to be an distracting accessory, in the same way detailed vaginas would be, but maybe a still life sort of thing would be cool. Louise Bourgeois certainly did some interesting stuff with them.

I had a curvy male model once and it was VERY challenging. He wasn't big, he just had womanly hips. It sort of enraged me, because I couldn't get it to look right.

We get crazy shit for *not* drawing them. We don't have to be extra fancy, but we're not allowed to ignore body parts.

Yeah, I drew the general shape, but no details.

Awww, yeah... hot stuff. *joins the whistling*

I love writing the Johnny and Ripp taunts and banter. It's so much fun.

Heheh. I'm sure the artistry of the paintings will win him over, and Jill always has the hypocrite card to pull out on him, since he did pose nude too. :P

I have that great calendar mesh from MTS2, with the pinups, animals, babies, cars, etc., and I'm so tempted to recolour it with some of my own images. The worst thing about recolouring is the images have to be so small, though. Even with .png images from a screencap program, I try to zoom out before I take the pics. I wonder if I'm just missing a really easy way to do it.

[identity profile] ikichi.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
What are you editing with again? 'Cause I know you can resize in P'shop.

(And Johnny's pose is much more cheesecake and much less artistic than hers will be. :D)

Weeee-eeeeel, you could aways make poster recolors, too... maybe with a calendar bottom like the Chinese take-out calendars.

I use GIMP. I can resize things, but you lose quality when you resize. It's better with .pngs, but it's still pretty crappy when you reduce it that much.

Yeah, Johnny has the real cheesy, sexy pose going on. If he goes after Jill, she can easily turn it around on him.

like the Chinese take-out calendars.

You mean the ones with the hot babe and the cool car and the awesome house? :D Those crack me up. My SO's sister always has one of those in her apartment.

The huge image and the small-to-teeny calendar at the bottom.

Do it!

I'm trying to recolour various pictures with ingame pics I've taken, and I'm running into a similar issue - they look all crap and pixellated when they're in the photo frame, and the images have to be tiny. I don't think GIMP is made for sims photo making.
